Kursk your post is interesting because I have read on a couple of occasions that some of the women who regularly protest outside clinics are women who were stopped from going through with abortions by a protest and are thankful they were stopped and that makes them passionate about the subject as they felt abortion was their only option and yet they were encouraged not to do it and things were okay for them.

Sound the klaxons everybody! vdb has spoken.

Because a couple of women who were "stopped" having their abortions by harrasing protesters are okay and joining the protesters, all women should shut up and run the gauntlet.

That's assuming these female protesters aren't liars who justify any action to achieve their goals.

Evidence for stockholm syndrome / lovebombing cult techniques is all you need to justify removing a woman's right to privacy in health care. Physical statistics such as physical and mental health, finances, abuse etc. don't count apparently.

Protesters are not hanging around clinics to change anything, they are there to bully women.

If you are uncomfortable with abortions there are other avenues available than hassling vulnerable women.

This is wonderful news. I agree that free speech is not about harrassing people who have made a very difficult decision.

For example, I might not like smoking and would be happy to say so but shouldn’t be able to go up to people smoking outside buildings and hold up posters of cancerous lungs.

What happens in the US is absolutely appalling with doctors being murdered by anti-abortionists (don’t really like the term pro life as I’m pro life but also pro choice!) and I don’t want to give encouragement to these people to think they could continue down that road here.

MadgeMidgerson · 19/12/2017 10:44

I am curious as to just how long a vigil of people respectfully holding signs that said ‘PRIESTS, STOP RAPING CHILDREN FFS’ would be allowed to parade around outside churches

oh I wonder, I really do

Great news. These women are going to have a completely legal state funded procedure and should be allowed to do so privately and on peace. If you want to promote a pro-life agenda we live in a democratic country with process for change if it is what people want.

Are these anti abortion clinics still going on today, I did hear something on radio. Are they against early stages , medical abortion?

They are fanatics who are against all abortion. And the government is deliberately holding up the buffer zone legislation because some of its key members are anti-abortion.

So they may claim. I wouldn't trust the word of people who harass women getting medical treatment.

I really hope not!
Even if you do not agree with their point of view you should defend their right to say it
Existing laws already cover problems that arise - this would simply be an infringement on freedom of speech. What will be next?

They have a right to demonstrate, but not outside clinics.

That is not a demonstration is is harassment.

They could demonstrate near parliament where laws are actually made but they don't.

@Topher2488 if abortion is wrong why does god perform so many?

Almost like they care more about harassing women than changing the law.

Absolutely, this thread is highly relevant because the Tories are deliberately dragging their heels implementing the buffer zone law because the likes of Miriam Cates and Kemi Badenoch oppose abortion.
