My goodness the Dunfermline men are an attractive lot.

nailpolish · 22/03/2007 14:15

what a delightful man (not)

NoNoNoBodyInTheTomb · 22/03/2007 14:16

I love the way the that in the picture, he looks like he's actually breaking wind at that moment!!

Pubs are so smelly since the smoking ban, though

MrsGumby · 22/03/2007 14:16

Marty Feldman's love child.

Marina · 22/03/2007 14:16

So he travels from Edinburgh to Dunfermline to fart in a bar...? What a lovely character.

MrsSpoon · 22/03/2007 14:16

Ah but he lives in Edinburgh.

runs< before Expat catches up with me.

thank god I never worked on that paper

do they have a lot of space to fill? that quote goes on for ages

MrsSpoon · 22/03/2007 14:19

NoNoNoBodyInTheTomb, LOL, he also looks like he has just smelled it for the first time.

I'm sure the newspaper people took a few photos and picked the one where he looked most unhinged.

The writing is fantastic, IMO, really cheered up a Thursday.

marina didnt you read it

he visits his parents in Cowdenbeath and then pops into the pub on the way home

Cowdenbeath is so classy too...

hunkermunker · 22/03/2007 14:19

ROFL at "I didn?t even have a chance to draw breath."

Probably a good thing, surely?

MrsSpoon · 22/03/2007 14:19

LOL Cappuccino, it's obviously been a quiet week.

nickytwotimes · 22/03/2007 14:21

fgs! and i thought the ayrshire post was bad!! lol

MrsSpoon · 22/03/2007 14:21

NP I can stand proud and say I have never been in Thirsty Kirstys, so cannot comment on the aroma.

OP posts:
nailpolish · 22/03/2007 14:22

its true though that although the pubs DID stink of fags til last year, at least it covered the stench of BO, stale beer and farts

piglit · 22/03/2007 14:23

It's at times like this I really miss Scotland.

nailpolish · 22/03/2007 14:26

lol piggie

do you ever get to visit?

MrsSpoon · 22/03/2007 14:27

Ah, the fresh air.

OP posts:
piglit · 22/03/2007 14:29

All my family are still there and I used to go lots. Bit harder with the dses being so small (2 and 1) but we intend to go and visit a lot more when flying with them isn't a logistical nightmare. Car journey is 9 hours so that's a no go.

doggiesayswoof · 22/03/2007 14:42

rofl at 'that's the last fart you do in this pub'

...and other phrases you don't hear every day

MrsSpoon · 22/03/2007 21:59

An unapologetic bump as I still think this is pure class.

Scootergirl · 22/03/2007 22:02

Amazing!

MrsSpoon · 22/03/2007 22:04

Actually I think this is my favourite quote from the licensing guy:-

?You can?t just have one guy sitting there farting his day away and nobody else coming in."
