No I don't think anyone deserves to be treated the way she is.
I am very uncomfortable with this setting up of woman as hate figure. None of us know her. Maybe she's vile, maybe she isn't. It wouldn't really matter to the media, she sells papers and for some reason lots and lots of mainly women take delight in reading what a bitch she is and condemning her. I find it quite disturbing and keep thinking the women who can't wait for the next issue of Mindless Celebrity Weekly to come out so that they can be shocked about waht terrible act of atrocity she's committed now, are only one step up from those mad women who go and throw eggs at police vans carrying paedophiles.
I think it's all very unedifying. And also, Linda was never really accepted by the tabloid press until she had cancer. Then they all had to do a U turn in their sneering coverage of her because it would have been too bad taste, even for the British public.
