All the people who want to waste their money voting for CBB why don't you give it to charity instead?

Why do you want to give it to ch 4? Why don't you want to give it to charity to help someone who is really being bullied? Childline for instance? or a poverty charity in India?

What do people vote and pay for the privilege????

Fuck me...

Tutter · 18/01/2007 19:14

well, you could ask the same of people spending money on other things you deem to be wasteful - e.g. gambling, buying fags, etc.

couldn't you?

lulumama · 18/01/2007 19:14

or could do both.....

bakedbeans · 18/01/2007 19:15

Yes and iirc it is a premium phone line. If they feel so strongly for anti racist or anti bullying why not give the money to charity not to c4?

I mean a charity like OXFAM who help the children in India to send them to school etc. I think helping children in India or children in UK who are being bullied or abused by their families or other children is more important than paying money to channel 4 and their sponsors.

Do they LIZ???

I can't believe it.

lulumama · 18/01/2007 19:21

i think the point is you cannot be a BB fan unless you support an anti bullying charity?

i don;t vote...i know it is a money making excercise, but doesn;t mean i have to give money to a charity so that i am allowed to say that i think there is racism in the house..you don;t know what charities people give to ..and it is not mutually exclusive with watching BB !

bakedbeans · 18/01/2007 19:23

OK I agree you don't have to give to charity but why if you have money to throw around and waste giving it to Channel 4 why not give it to charity where it will do some good and help some children who are really in need of the money?

lulumama · 18/01/2007 19:25

for the same reason when i give money to someone in the street with their hand out, i don;t tell them how to spend it !

bakedbeans · 18/01/2007 19:28

people can spend their money on whatever they want

and if they choose to 'waste' it on voting in BB and text alerts, that is entirely their choice

JustHumphrey · 18/01/2007 19:29

Lulu, re "for the same reason when i give money to someone in the street with their hand out, i don;t tell them how to spend it!"

Agree 100%.

bakedbeans · 18/01/2007 19:30

Oh yes I know they can

SmileysPeople · 18/01/2007 19:33

Isn't CBB for charity?

Sometimes standing up against something is as important as giving money.

lulumama · 18/01/2007 19:33

so why the question then bakedbeans!!?

i take your point that everyone is up in arms about the racism in BB..and i would say that the majority of people posting about it are not voting or getting text alerts, but even if they are...what difference?.......but not voting now and not spending the money now, won;t make any difference...whatever publicity is being generated has a life of its own now!

bakedbeans · 18/01/2007 19:34

No, it is for endomol channel 4 sponsors

OP posts:
lulumama · 18/01/2007 19:36

also, it is an impossible question if you take it to the conclusion...

if i give £5 a month to the NSPCC & £5 a month to breast cancer research...that is £10 of my money diverted from other causes.....who is to say how we should spend our money ? as adults, we have to make those choices , and voting in BB does not mean you are compelled to give to charity.....

JustHumphrey · 18/01/2007 19:36
SmileysPeople · 18/01/2007 19:36

Did it used to be?? Or am i just confused again?

Anyway stand by my arguemnt that this may be 1 occasion where it is worth voting to make a point, and take a stand against something.

JustHumphrey · 18/01/2007 19:36
bakedbeans · 18/01/2007 19:37

Because I think it is mad to spend money giving it to channel 4 etc where it won't do any good but if they give it to charity like childline it will do some good helping children who are being bullied or the children in India.
