The reason Shilpa is on CBB is for the money, like all of them, but she is being paid a whopping amount of £400,000, I think I might put up with a bit of arguing and back stabbing for that amount of money, if she thought she was being victimized she would make an official complaint to BB and also she has the option of leaving the house, but of course thats a large amount of money to keep her in isn't it. The tiny amount they have shown of arguing etc is nothing in the amount of hours these people are together, this has to be the worst and most boring CBB ever, so after all this media interest in the 'racist bullying' the viewing has suddenly gone up big time!! Wonder if its all a ploy to get people to watch.........no surely not!! Last year Jodie Marsh was terribly bullied by Michael Barrymore and that freak Pete but there were only a few people who complained, wasn't because she was white was it?? This has all been blown up out of all context by the media and by Indians and Asians, burning effigys?? Oh come on, get a life, this is a 'game' show!! No one has mentioned Jermaine saying that Jades family were 'white trash'...........surely thats a racist comment isn't it???
There are far more important things in this sad World to be complaining about than a game show on TV people. Get Real!!

I have said my bit several times on the other threads but just thought I would add to the white trash comment debate.

White trash is a racist slur.

I have spoken about this to several American friends I have and they have explained it as being one of those terms that is OK for a white person to say about themselves or someone the same colour but as soon as it is said by someone of another colour it becomes a racist comment.

I am pretty sure we can think of other examples of this.

Trailer trash is basically saying the exact same thing but withour the racial ingrediant.

I have had this confirmed by 4 different American friends 3 black and 1 white.

oh for crying out loud. when white people have had a long history of slavery and oppression by black or Asian people then perhaps we will have some perspective on this subject. And one comment, 'white trash' is hardly the same as the calculated bullying and constant racist slurs Shilpa had to put up with.

Also, to the OP - I really think you're wrong in the fee quoted, but even if you're not, Shilpa has agreed to be on a reality show, not to be abused on the basis of her skin colour.
Also, you say that she can make a complaint about the victimisation. The point is though that the racist talk is behind her back, so she hasn't a clue in the main what is being said. People watching have heard what has been said and many people have rightly felt outraged.
Agree that the show itself is mediocre and would not ordinarily warrant this level of publicity. But the issue of racism does.

I happen to think the media circus that surrounds this whole pantomime is just as bullying as Jade's behaviour in the house. I find it incredible that with everything going on round the world at present, this is all they have to talk about in the news - I mean come on!!! Nicely detracts away from the BBC whining about not enough licence fees though. And what about the frightening dispatches show on c4 last week going undercover in british mosques and uncovering actual real racism, and hey the fact that our legal aid system has been defrauded for £1 mil by yes you guessed it an actual racist???? No no of course, lets get back to the brainless idiot who got a little bit above her station, showed her ineducation and total classlessness and who's actually just being paraded around the land like some circus freak and for what??? Not venting at anyone on here by the way, just find it incredible that this country and its media has allowed to get this so out of proportion.

And since when was racist behaviour only racist when you've had ancestory of slavery?? As groups have gone to great pains to point out in the last week, racism is racism doesn't matter how slight it may be so what you've just said there makes no sense at all. I have in fact been called white trash whilst being spat at by a non white person and it was meant in a racist way and I took it in a racist way and found it insulting and intimidating. Racism isn't only racism when its against a non white group.

id didn't say you couldn't have racism towards a white person. I said to all these people outraged at the comment 'white trash' that we may have more perspective on the issue had we been subject to what black people and asian people have been in history. And Jermaine Jackson said this one comment 'white trash' not in a bullying way, and in response to Jade's bullying and ignorant behaviour. I think it is ridiculous to compare the two events.

ruty your comment makes no sense at all, and can I just point out that I despise bullying of any form regardless of what form the bullying takes.

I just thought that racism in any form shopuld not be tolerated, I didn't realise it was OK if your ancestors were slaves.

Its not really fair to pounce on people that have this view....this thread itself has been rather bitchy to people who have different opinions.

Imo the bullying has far outweighed these 'racist' comments on both occassions.

Ruty, anybody with a brain cell will understand what you are saying and will also understand that comparing one remark said in one context is incomparable to a tirade of remarks made in a wholly different context.

I have not seen the programme but if what I have read on this thread is accurate, I don't see how anyone can equate Jackson's remark with the invective spewed by the gruesome threesome.

Aloha - glad we found out what it was that Jack said. What a sad thing to be known for, the only time he has opened his mouth and he comes out with a delightful comment like that.

I was merely trying to explain what white trash meant as people are kidding themselves if they feel it has no racial grounding.

I happen to really like Jermain (I have suprised myself here, I really wanted to dislike him) and once again I shall clarify that the behaviour of the girls imo is disgusting bullying that can not be defended.

i think my post made sense flutterbee! It may have not been said as eloquently as some of Blue's posts on the subject on these various threads though.

maybe many of would say this is debate but i feel that on this thread and many of the other big brother threads people who dont think the same as u or the group thought are being picked on put down and bullied
