Turkey - Deal or No Deal

The latest offer from Turkey is:

Turkey takes back a non-Syrian migrant who has crossed into Greece and 'replaces' him/her by sending Greece a Syrian refugee, on a one-for-one basis

Plus

The EU pays 6 billion Euros to Turkey

Plus

The EU agrees to permit Turks to travel visa-free within the EU from June 2016 (instead of previously agreed 1 Oct 2016)

Plus

Turkey's full EU membership is fast-tracked.

So, does the EU accept Turkey's deal or say 'No Deal'?

SpringingIntoAction I dont think all migrants had proper documents when they arrived in Greece, there have been scores of nationalities . If you check the files from UN link I gave above you will find the routes followed by the migrants. I dont understand how peope can make the migrants go back to Turkey. Worth to look in the files and see the scale of the problem.

Greece is today changing its laws to recognise Turkey as a safe place to be returned to.

The UNHCR is refusing to participate in keeping counts if migrants that are returned to Turkey as it queries the legality in international law of the 'deal'

The 'deal' will start deporting migrants from Greece next Monday.

Meanwhile migrants are being held in closed camps on Lesbos where they are now on hunger strike. On Chios the migrants have walked out if their camp at Vial following violent inter-migrant clashes overnight In which several migrants were stabbed and are now waking en masse towards Chios town. The volunteer Doctors have abandoned the camp due to safety fears. There have been similar clashes on Samos.

I cannot see these migrants (failed asylum seekers) returning voluntarily to Turkey. They will probably clear all media away this weekend do the works is not witness to the disturbing firced removals.

Meanwhile at Idomeni on the closed Greek/Macedinuan border 11,500 are demanding entry to Macedinia to continue their journey to Germany. Some are being smuggled through Albania and Into Italy.

There have been violent clashes at Piraeus port near Athens and at the refugee camps that have been set up in the redundant Pylmpic stadia in the city.

These mainland migrants are not covered by Merkel's deal and are becoming frustrated that they are stuck in Greece

Meanwhike 100's of 1000's of migrants are reportedly massing on the Libyan coast waiting for good weather to cross the Med.

The response of The EU, NATO, the UN and the Arab League is woefully inadequate for this crisis. Nobody seems to be showing any leadership. Nobody seems to have any solution.

It's almost a peaceful invasion of Europe that we cannot do anything to stop.

Here's some video of the migrants leaving the camp at Vial and walking towards Chios town.
m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=nn2GWxnZtpQ

It was supposed to be a closed camp for migrants awaiting deportation to Turkey. The Syrians are supposedly identified and sent on to the Greek Mainland. These are therefore non-Syrian migrants

Deportations star in Monday but Frintex, the EU agency that is supposed to be overseeing this says it has still not received the 800 personnel, lawyers etc it will need to enforce the deal. The Greeks say that the EU prevents them from hiring additional personnel to scrutinise these migrant's claims for asylum and to assist in eventual deportations as the EU rules on Greek austerity prevent them from hiring additional, public servants

Do the police on Chios look as though they have any control whatsoever over the migrants?
m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=nn2GWxnZtpQ

Do we honestly think that these migrant's asylum claims are going to be heard before deportations start on Monday?

Do we even believe the island police are capable of deporting the failed asylum seekers back to Turkry?

Meanwhile Amnesty International says Turkeybis not a safe country

Meanwhile more boats if migrants are arriving daily on the Greek Iskands and their asylum claims will need to be processed - but they aren't being processed so the camps fill up and violence breaks out and we all go around the circle again ......

Total chaos. Just as I predicted it would be when I asked MNHQ to preserve this thread by moving it from Chat

It seems the EU is totally and utterly incompetent in this crisis.
