Tories want to cut sick peoples benefit.

Surprised no thread. Our wonderful caring Tory government want to cut ESA for people on the benefit. More MPs voted for cutting then against cutting. It makes me ashamed to be British and to think we live in such an uncaring society. How low can they go?

Cutting peoples money will store up more problems and is so mean. They don't know the meaning of the word support. Its everyones business what they doing. Nobody is immune from needing government help at some time.

it is sick that we have a PM who shuts down debate and pretends he has any idea of what it is like to be a carerAngry

dottypotter · 27/02/2016 13:43

we should stop sending money abroad until we can look after the people in this country who need help!

sad face families who have never worked are still getting their benefits and know exactly how to play the system still (and they're in a minority) It's not affecting them. These idealistic Tory policies stink.

and its these lazy feckless benefit cheats that give the genuine a bad name and THATS why the cuts are made, they all think we are ALL these Jeremy kyle people.

pastmyduedate0208 · 27/02/2016 22:05

YAWN. Thank you Tory voters, whoever you are.
WTF did anyone expect!?

Samcro · 27/02/2016 22:33

people seem to be more interested in how JC dresses than this.
shows how DC works....

PhilPhilConnors · 27/02/2016 22:39

Becker, the sad thing is, the way they are going at education as well is probably going to mean more disillusioned young adults with few employable skills as schools are set academic targets which many children will not meet, and taking away the practical options.
They're not only fucking over the vulnerable, they are also doing their damnedest to create a whole load more!

AllThePrettySeahorses · 29/02/2016 08:34

I started a chat thread about this before the election and was told that I was scaremongering. Well now the scum have done it. I am so lucky that atm I'm not affected but I know people who are, people who have worked for 40 years +, and I am sickened that they are being treated like this.

As for the comment about people who don't work not deserving a comfortable life, I hope that applies to those who inherit wealth and also to Cameron himself when he retires after a working life (in fairly cushy jobs which he got through contacts as opposed to talent) of what, less than 30 years?

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 29/02/2016 09:21

we should stop sending money abroad until we can look after the people in this country who need help!
If big business paid the tax they should, we could do both.

dottypotter · 29/02/2016 10:23

stop sending money abroad look after people in this country first.

I'm a carer for 3 boys with autism. I get one payment of carers allowance as I'm not entitled to both. So there's one payment that's not claimed. Both boys are at school but I don't work. Am I a scrounger? I'm exhausted! I catch up with housework, I sleep, I have a depressive illness. What must people think of me. Both boys have DLA. I wish I could claim the other carers allowance, the money would help. I save the country a lot of money caring for my 2 wonderful boys. People still judge me though, they think I should be working now my youngest is at school.

CheeseAndSprinkles · 29/02/2016 10:40

That's me leant to say 2 boys with autism not 3.

BunnyTyler · 29/02/2016 10:57

As a single mum of 2 on ESA, too sick to work, I get the princely sum of £13 per week.
Wonder if they'll cut mine?! Grin

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 29/02/2016 11:24

It makes no sense at all to me that the tories were re-elected. I really don't understand why anyone thinks out most vulnerable members of society are fair game.

dottypotter · 29/02/2016 11:26

today a man is going back to court to appeal against the bedroom tax re his disabled grandson.

the worst thing is they'll get voted in again next election, as the other parties are not doing anyting concrete either.

and all DC does is shine that smarmy shiny ''concerned'' face and in his sharp suit and he fools all the voters.

SiencynArsecandle · 01/03/2016 07:13

The most evil, dangerous man in the Government is Ian Duncan Smith. I'm convinced he's a sociopath, the pictures of him standing cheering when further cuts to benefits were announced haunts me. People were up in arms at the cuts to Child Tax Credits and got it changed through people power. Same with the cuts to Child Benefit. Where are the voices to fight for us, the sick, disabled and carers at the bottom of the ladder? Too many people with the 'Im Alright Jack' attitude.

BreakingDad77 · 01/03/2016 17:02

This just another reason why I fear a Brexit as imagine what kind of state we would have.

prh47bridge · 04/03/2016 08:33

The pictures are actually of him cheering the introduction of the National Living Wage.

He wants to ensure that the incentives to stay on benefits are removed from the benefits system but he also wants to retain an adequate safety net for those who cannot work. He is known to be unhappy with some of the cuts imposed by the treasury. He has worked behind the scenes to prevent some cuts and reduce the impact of others. He has had some successes and some failures.

dottypotter · 04/03/2016 12:27

He wants to wage all out war on the poor, they don't want to pay out any money. So make their lives difficult. How in this modern world people have been sanctioned and died I don't know.

Sanctions don't get anyone into work. IDS should be charged with corporate manslaughter.

OP posts:
BreakingDad77 · 04/03/2016 13:33

I found the fake DWP - 'happy sanction' leaflets pretty worrying, they have been pulled now, but they must have got approval etc to get as far as printers etc.

tiredandhungryalways · 04/03/2016 14:03

This is absolutely nothing to do with spending cuts or foreign aid! Why do people repeat these ridiculous myths?! This is about large companies not paying their taxes, ridiculous bankers bonuses, chief executives on stupid salaries and mp's who rob the pot! Our anger is aimed at entirely the wrong people. Of course there are people cheating the system but their impact is minimal especially compared to thieves we have in government!

tiredandhungryalways · 04/03/2016 14:06

And no I am not in receipt of any benefits before the Tory voters jump down my throat

Pedestriana · 04/03/2016 14:08

Friend of mine is facing this at present. Friend has ASD and a number of physical disabilites which combined lead to chronic and permanent pain.
Friend currently has a vehicle which is part funded under one of the available benefits.
However, friend has been advised that under upcoming changes, they must prove they can walk 20 paces. If they can, they don't qualify for vehicle funding and must make their own arrangements.
Notwithstanding that each of those 20 paces is painful. Notwithstanding that ASD means friend cannot use public transport, and notwithstanding that even if public transport was an option, it's well beyond the 20 paces.

I don't understand it. It's just wrong.

Haribogirl · 04/03/2016 14:51

Really pissed that people think ALL people on benefits are living great on benefits

It's those stupid programmes on TVs
BENEFIT FAMILIES

They tar everybody with the same brush

My sister who as severe walking problems, mobility is very hard for her but she plods along dispite the amount of pain she's in. Other than this what does she do sit in bed all day! Sit in chair all day!
She would absolutely love to be mobile and have her life back.

She as just been moved over from DLA to PIP
Dispite all the medical evidence from doctors, consultants, community nurses etc she got letter to say she would be having a medical visit.
The guy that came was a NURSE, OK with 25 years experience.
He grilled her from 9.30 till 11.30 asking all the same questions that was on the pip form, that she'd already filled in one by one.

This was extremely stressful and very draining, to the be told it would be about another 4 weeks before she got a letter to say if she qualifies or not.

She got the letter last week! She's gone from high care to lowest on PIP
She needs more help now than ever before!
So now she as to go through all the questions again to see if she can get the 2 more points she needs from the questions.

Are people so naive that they think people would willing put themselves through this so they get extra money!!!

Samcro · 04/03/2016 15:22

of course its to do with spending cuts. its scameron trying to save money by cutting benefits for the most vulnerable.
