Daniel Pelka's mother's boyfriend kills himself

His mother hung herself a few months ago and now her boyfriend has done the same.

Cowards the pair of them.

Poor Daniel.

Does anyone know if anyone else was disciplined for not reporting concerns and making sure he was removed from them?

They were cruel evil People. Id say death was the right outcome for them both. They must have felt some remorse to take their own lives and maybe that's something.

I doubt there was any remorse tbh but I'm interested into why you think there must be.

School run now so not ignoring if you answer.

If hell is real I hope that's where they both are.

They didn't feel remorse for Daniel, I don't think. I just think they felt remorse at getting caught and facing prison and I reckon she especially would of got a hard time and took the cowards way out the absolute scumbags. Hope they are in hell now if there's such a place.

Gosh they are both dead? I suspect it was less remorse for their actions and more their lives being a living hell in prison.

Think of the money we've saved on imprisonment.

Good. Evil incarnate both of them.

they didnt feel remorse

i wish they hadnt died as i always feel this is an easy option for them BUT if this has to be the case i wish that

they had been locked in a filthy dirty cell with no toilet or washing facilities and were slowly starved to their death with the odd beating thrown in for months on end, just a small taste of what that little boy went through

much like that poor helpless little boy had to endure and feel for months on end

i still shudder when i hear that poor little mites name

Good news

Even if they had a hellish time in prison from other inmates, they were still afforded 3 meals a day, a warm bed, clean clothing, everything they never gave that poor boy.

There was no punishment available in this country that was severe enough for either of them.

I begrudge even a penny of my taxes paying to keep utter scum like them.

Killing themselves is probably the only good thing they've ever done for society.

I dont think it's in anyway remorse. They are were purely cowards. I believe they were, rightfully, getting a hard time from other inmates equally. Scum the both of them... I have always wondered why no one at the school was prosecuted that poor little boy went through too much in his short life. Thoroughly glad they are dead!!

Bloody coward, but I doubt that many people will mourn him.

I don't think other convicts are particularly tolerant of people who have committed crimes against children.

Probably a motivation for their actions.

I feel so sad for that little boy and frustrated that the authorities didn't, couldn't, wouldn't step in when they must have realised thngs were seriously wrong.

Until someone is personally held properly accountable there will be more Daniel's, Victoria's, etc.

I see mistakes made now that were made decades ago. Why?

It just makes me feel helpless when I know I have the experience to make a difference but a degree but with no actual experience counts for more than someone who has lived it but not been lucky enough to get letters after their name.

Sorry, this just really gets to me.

I've just seen this reported elsewhere.

Two things are still striking:

  1. The senseless barbarity of their treatment of Daniel.

  2. That so many people saw Daniel, but never helped him, even when he was clearly in need.

If they had realised things were seriously wrong they would have acted. That's the point. They didn't realise.

Reading that report is just awful. Not that I know anything about child protection but I just can't understand why those poor children weren't taken into care any sooner. Surely the huge amounts of domestic violence incidents recorded would have been enough ?

Good. Total and utter scum. Shame they didn't suffer more.

I may be strange but I don't really find this comforting or pleasing or anything else. They are irrelevant.

Somewhere along the line I suspect that those two people were also failed, because without that, they could not have behaved as they did.

Something is very, very wrong with people who hurt little children. It does not excuse it and neither does it make it right.

But two more dead isn't the answer and it doesn't make anything better, aside from two fewer people to accommodate in a prison.

I hope that they somehow find peace, if there is an afterlife of sorts, because that is the only way to equilibrium where perpetrators are still alive. People regretting what they have done and being able to be better, and never, ever repeat it, is all we can truly hope for.

I don't think anyone should go to hell. And I don't think Daniel should have suffered the way he did, either.

How can someone not realise something was seriously wrong given how he was acting?

Total cop out.

Because they were convincing liars.

mavis has it. A teacher saw this child eating from a bin. Did next to nothing to help (from what I remember reading. When the mother was spoken to about Daniel he would be beaten. It makes me absolutely sick.

Cop out Hmm
Do you think that people saw what was happening and deliberately ignored it?
Tell you what, you train as a social worker, work in the field for 10 years then come back and swear you never made an error
Then you can talk about cop outs.
