DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 07/12/2006 13:15

omg

it felt like a bloody hurricane here earlier when I took dd to the docs - we had to shelter in Caffe Nero for ages

TEEstheCEEsontobejolly · 07/12/2006 13:15

Just about to post this. My assistant's mate just called her to say her roof had been ripped off and all her windows caved in

MerryPiffmas · 07/12/2006 13:16

tornado Cov tsk tsk
Freaky weather, we had ellish winds and uprooted trees here in Lincs overnight

ComeOyefaithfulVeneer · 07/12/2006 13:16

Just watched it on Sky - unbelievable.

Wonder how many hidden Xmas presents were blown away? Small detail I know but it would probably be the one detail that would send me over teh edge if my roof blew off!

PrincessPeaHead · 07/12/2006 13:21

makes you appreciate that buildings insurance premium that you pay every year thinking "I'll never claim on this, money down the drain"

onzephyrstdayofchristmas · 07/12/2006 13:29

Scary. It's been really windy here in Soton the last few days. I had to take dd to a party on Monday night and had one hand trying to stop her blowing away and the other stopping the pram blowing over!!

QuadropheniaonIce · 07/12/2006 13:30

its all the 4x4 drivers faults i tell you

WhenSantaWentQuietlyMad · 07/12/2006 13:34

Man, I knew it was windy, but crikey, that is extreme weather.

How strange.

I know what you mean, it was dark as night here earlierand bucketing it down. It is still blowing a gale here and a panel on the fence has blown down. Have you seen the video footage one house on the corner has had half of the outside wall ripped off and loads have lost most of their roof. And just before xmas too .

Bugger. It missed Camden.

WhenSantaWentQuietlyMad · 07/12/2006 14:12

COV, agree. Poor them right before xmas

MerryChristmasfromQV · 07/12/2006 14:15

That explains ALOT!

Was out at about 11am and it suddenly bucketed it down - thunder, lightening, heavy rain, hailstorm and blustering winds.....windscreen wipers on my car couldnt keep up.

ComeOyefaithfulVeneer · 07/12/2006 14:17

Thankfully I got in just before 11 although I suspect the school run is going to be a bit wet and wild.

MerryChristmasfromQV · 07/12/2006 14:18

yep - i gotta go to work now....

BrummieOnTheRun · 07/12/2006 14:28

Classic quote when this happened in B'ham: [man to camera] "It woz like been choysed up the street boy a giyunt CARRUT"

dara · 07/12/2006 14:29

I was sheltering in Cafe Nero too in London. Amazing - thick hail and howling winds.

bakedpotato · 07/12/2006 14:31

WhenSantaWentQuietlyMad · 07/12/2006 14:33
