The traffic is truly awful.

The M25 is closed between J23 (south mimms) and J27 (M11/stanstead). The tailbacks are as far back as J21 and J28 - this is in BOTH directions.

There has also been a stabbing (a young mum outside a school apparently ) in Enfield Town and so all the traffic around there is utterly gridlocked - ie near enough standstill - and the drivers diverting inwards because the M25 is closed is making it worse.

You probably know this already, but just in case....

Oh good grief you scared me! I haven't had the news on at all today; thought you were going to say there had been another tube bomb!

alexa1 · 13/11/2006 19:19

That's awful about the young mum being stabbed. Glad I am not stuck in that traffic, would set my panic attacks off.

Shame poor QV must be feeling rather rotten now. She thought she could be doing people a favour and look how it has backfired .

VeniVidiVickiQV · 13/11/2006 20:01

I wouldnt say it had backfired as such.......

what's that about a stabbing VeniVidiVickiQV? I live near there but hadn't heard anything. I thought the hideous traffic was because of the M25 accident.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/11/2006 20:57

All i know is that a young mum was stabbed, she is in a critical condition and they think it was her estranged husband. Very sad.

OHMYGAWD thats awful , I also caught a fright seeing this this evening, as dh is in central London right now. I live near chase Farm and got caught in it all picking up dd from nursury, I thought may be the M25 had shut as all the HGVs were right the way down the ridgeway , but it just seemed mad everywere. On thew way back coming up ferny hill a driver on the oncoming side said dont go anywere near enfeld , little did I know some horrible horrible stabbing was going on. What school I wonder, I cant think, Southbury rd may be ???

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/11/2006 21:43

OMG I work just off the ridgeway! Didnt realise I was so close to an MNer

I'm at work atm so I am probably only a few hundred yards away from you right now

The school was Chesterfield or something beginning with Ch...

A primary school. In front of the children....

Chesterfield Road school is in Enfield Lock, quite close to the train station.
We three are all quite close to each other it seems VeniVidiVickiQV and Melsy - I live off Slades Hill.
What school do your children go to?

melsy · 14/11/2006 22:44

How awful that kids saw it. I dont really know E field LocK that well.

Ohhh how spooky that we are so close , Im up and down slades hill every day mckenzie as dd1 goes to a nursury in cockfosters. I live 3/4 mile round from Chase Farm hospital VVVQV. Youre ay work late , what do you do ?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/11/2006 10:53

Oh gosh i know where that is! So sad...and so CLOSE!

I live just off the A10 and Carterhatch. DD goes to a pre-school in Forty Hill area. But I work just between the Ridgeway and Slades Hill!

Didnt know there were MNers that close! How old are our children, Melsy and McKenzie?

Hi VVQV , I think we may have spoken on st albans meet up thread. Dd1 is 3.3 and dd2 is 13 weeks.

What is it with this area , I found out today that a man murdered his wife in our road last Wednesday. They had made a suicide pact but he murdered her in the end .

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/11/2006 16:29

Oh FGS....

Our DD's are a v similar age. DD is 3.7 yrs and DS is 19 mths.

Today's traffic update is....temporary traffic lights at the top of Lavender Hill (between Gordon Hill and Holtwhites Hill).

OP posts:
melsy · 15/11/2006 16:41

lol at local traffic report. Is soo bloody annoying as I live just off of lavender hill near the shops . What a PITA for nursery run.

We will have to meet for sure now!!!!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/11/2006 17:18

That'd be lovely! CAT me or I will CAT you when I get home...(am at work again...)

Judy1234 · 15/11/2006 17:58

Most murders are by family members. It's not youths on trains after dark we need to fear but our husbands and wives, sadly.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/11/2006 18:00

Absolutely Xenia. Probably not best to get me started on this whole subject. Again

mckenzie · 15/11/2006 20:01

just seen the report of the stabbing in the local paper. Luckily it seems the lady concerned wasn't badly injured. Horrible though isn't it for everyone concerned.
My children are 5 and a half and 20 months VeniVidiVickiQV. DS is at Merryhills. It's funny to think that we could have met without realising isn't it?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/11/2006 20:51

Oh i know merryhills! I used to drive past there everyday when DD was at the nursery in highlands...will CAT you as well if thats okay?
