My guess is she probably spends time with a Nanny some of the day anyway (which may well be a good thing for stability in all this). And bless her, she's a bit young to appreciate the significance of her birthday yet, so whether the party happens or not isn't a real problem.

I still can't work out why PM didn't think why this woman would want to marry a man of his age anyway (don't they ALL become grumpy old men? It's just that he's a VERY rich grumpy old man). And I'm sure she knew about his drug habit prior to the marriage too (after all, we all did).

I can't work out why PM gets vitriol heaped on him for NOT having a prenup. Yes, it was foolish in retrospect, but he was in love with her. He probably thought she was the reincarnation of his beloved dead wife (she did a pretty good impersonation of her, frankly) and never thought for one moment she would try to fleece him. Why is that so bad that he deserved to have a horrible time.
I imagine he thought she loved him. I'm sure that's what she told him.
I think it very likely he is a difficult, stubborn old curmudgeon, but to attack a man for not insisting on a prenup seems extraordinary.

never heard of the Beatles????/Bollocks. Total utter bollocks.

Tinker · 20/10/2006 19:44

Paul was gorgeous when he was young...irrelevant, I know.

sorrell · 20/10/2006 20:21

He has the ego the size of a supertanker they say, but so does she.

Monkeytrousers · 20/10/2006 20:24

ohh yer cows

Blandmum · 20/10/2006 20:25

To be fair to him he has done a fair bit with his life.

Until he married her, I had no idea who she was

hunkermunker · 21/10/2006 14:17

Drops this article into the discussion

collision · 21/10/2006 14:23

Team Paul here.

I have never liked her.....she really winds me up actually.

I said at the time that it would never work.

That link you posted is great Hunker. she is a liar and a fantasist!

ruty · 21/10/2006 14:39

they look uncannily alike. She looks like he did when he was younger. Maybe they deserve each other, have no idea. But is she really as awful as the media paints her? She may have some problems she needs to sort out, but people are rarely as one dimensional as that.

ruty · 21/10/2006 14:40

i mean as the media paints her.

DarkAlleyBongo · 21/10/2006 14:42

i watched that programme about her a couple of years ago. That put me off. if he was so bad, linda would have binned him off yonks before she died. she wouldn't have taken any crap. heather is bonkers.

collision · 21/10/2006 14:44

She probably has good points but from the article I was reading in the paper yesterday she is a bit of a fantasist. The article was saying that after her accident she contacted the papers to say that it had ruined her career as a 'top model' but she wasnt. All the Geordies from her area knew her as a glamour and topless model and one of those 'showcase' people who swan around doing little.

She also claimed in her book she had been kidnapped with friend by a swimming coach who was a paedophile and locked up for 3 days. Her friend read this and was shocked as it had only happened to her (the friend) and not HM at all. The friend won undisclosed damages for breach of confidence outside of court! Why would someone claim that had happened to them?

Do not like her at all.

DarkAlleyBongo · 21/10/2006 14:45

she is a very troubled soul

ruty · 21/10/2006 14:46

very odd indeed collision. I guess she has been rewarded for her behaviour up to now by money and fame so no incentive to sort it out and get counselling. Sure there's a lot of pain and misery behind it. He does seem a bit mean and miserly to me. And he was thinking with his cock.

DarkAlleyBongo · 21/10/2006 14:47

shall i remove my invisibilty cloak? I wanna play

NAB3 · 22/10/2006 17:01

I think he married her because she loked a bit like Linda did when she was younger.

DEFINITELY team BEA!

HumphreyComfrey · 22/10/2006 17:09

The thing that concerns me about all this is that, whilst it would appear that HMM is definitely a liar and a fantasist in some cases, what if the claims of domestic abuse are true?

It just makes me feel a bit uncomfortable to dismiss her claims because she's been caught out telling untrue stories in the past.

I wonder if her ex-husband has been paid for all these interviews - and he's not exactly unbiased in his views is he?

I'm certainly no great fan of Heather Mills, but she does seem to be quite a damaged person - and what if she really has been subjected to these physical attacks?

And the alleged perpertrator must surely have learnt a thing or two about manipulating the media in his time.

It's all just a bit odd, IMO.

TwoIfByScream · 22/10/2006 21:35

This article is quite interesting.

Still think she is a compulsive liar, good theory about her lot putting out (mis)information in the hope he settles up to shut her up. Like she could ever step away from the limelight, she is loving this!

TinyGang · 22/10/2006 21:45

Bet he regrets...

When I get older, losing my hair, many years from now,
Will you still be sending me a Valentine, birthday greetings, bottle of wine?
If I'd been out 'till quarter to three, would you lock the door?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?

expatinscotland · 22/10/2006 21:47

He's a nugget.

Men like him make me lose faith in the entire bloody lot of 'em.

What an utter fool.

He must be the only person on this Earth thick enough not to have seen this coming.

I mean, his own kids did!
