Nel is summing it up well. Defence chose to call the psychiatrist at this late stage when there was no indication whatsoever of any problem before. And now there is a psychiatric diagnosis presented to the Court, Nel is basing the application on this. Makes sense to me. Nel's playing a blinder.

At the moment, they're just asking whether he should be assessed properly.

What's alarming me recently, is that some of my bias over the case MIGHT be based on the fact that I luff Mr Nel a bit too.

AND Nel is saying this consulation with the psychiatrist has taken place after OP has given evidence and after other defence witnesses have taken the stand. I wonder whose idea it was to bring this psychiatrist in. What choice has the Judge I wonder. Nel is asking 'why' and I am wondering that too, as is any layman possibly.

He does believe that a guilty verdict is inevitable, so does Roux by brining in the psychiatrist so late.

I didn't notice this. I have noticed that a high proportion of male legal people chew the arms of their glasses.

Also the person sitting with Pistorius' family who appears to be listening via a translator, reminds me quite a lot of Abraham Lincoln. Not least because he's holding his hand to his chest.

Yes there is a gruff sexuality, he glasses chewing before he asks a cleaver question and his leg up on the chair as he goes in for the kill. I mainly luff him for his shrewd intellect. I luff people who I can have a great debate with!
