I'm quite new to MN and mainly do a lot of lurking (unless i can offer advice - seldom but occasional!).
This week I have been really moved by the support that everyone has given to Justine and also Yorkiegirl.
Just wanted to say that.

As one with 3 sisters I know exactly what you mean by the sistrs comments. Love mine and hate them in equal measure sometimes!

Yes, the legal action could close MN - it's a real threat. Libel cases are just too ruinously expensive to defend - you can't go to court unless you are filthy rich. So you don't even get to have your say, you just fold.

The lawyers are also now threatening to sue for breach of copyright over the bleeding letter they sent to the ISP trying to have MN shut down. Obviously embarrassed that their claims not to have threatened the site with closure have been shown up for what they are.

Go Justine go! Feeling very emotional about my virtual mates on MN (am on an ante natal thread). The support I have had has been great. Is there a fund for supporting MN in the defence of the libel action?
