So sad, poor little baby :(

Poor baby Lily. At least now she is at peace and out of suffering. Sounds like her so short life was not at all nice. :(

the police seem to think that perhaps the mother is at risk, in an abusive relationship or something hence the "clues" left with the baby.

It's a very sad story, poor child.

SadI cried when i heard this today and am crying now!Feel so sad for the poor little angel,she did nothing to deserve this.I hope that whoever did this rots in hell,if she wasn't able to care for lily she should have had her adopted(plenty of loving couples waiting out there)or she could of abandoned her somewhere safe.It really brakes my heart to think that ,that baby had noone to save her and noone to mourn herSad

I cried over this too. As blu said, it could well be there is desperate sadness at the back of this awful tale, I hope they find her mother so she can either be helped or called to account for what she did :(

I read that on my way to work and I really did feel very very sad. I agree - how could anyone do that? Every time I read of stories like that I think of my little munchkin and how my heart melts every time I look at him. It's just awful what peole can do.
