The Lynda Spencer Murder Trial - anyone been following it. (Upsetting)

Has anyone been following this trial. I think it is possibly the most horrific trial I have read about. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-22064366

I have.

I have a personal interest in it (although going back many years)

I'm in pieces tonight although I knew from the coverage of the trial in the papers the guilty verdict was coming.

How come this is the first I heard of this, just awful. I know she wasn't an innocent but she didn't deserve that. Her poor family knowing what happened to her.

This has been a huge case in Scotland. Local radio station reported other horrific details during the trial that haven't been reported in the national news.
I cannot comprehend how anyone could inflict such a prolonged and brutal attack on another human. Truly disgusting.

Yes, it's incomprehensible that humans could do that to another human.

The jury took days - I was sure they'd come back with a Not Proven verdict. Glad they didn't.

Wow. I am horrified and shocked by the crimes but also the fact that this is the first I have heard of it. Inhuman those men are, all of them.

No way, she was a fraudster yes but what they did was horrendous.

I read something about it in the paper the other day. Its like something out a horror movie/book. Can't imagine what she went through. Nobody deserves that.

I've followed it a little, I'm in England and it doesn't seem to have been reported on the news here, to be fair I don't read news papers and it may have been covered there.

I don't know how anyone could do that, regardless of what they've done.

The details are very distressing, it must have been horrific for her.

Lots of people up here are saying that she deserved it though I can't really find out what she did that was so awful? I think she may have tried to con money from people but it has been played down a lot by the media.

Horrendous and I heard it on the radio when in the car with ds. They revealed some details before I had chance to switch off. Really wasn't happy he'd heard such terrible things can happen in life.
Can't help feeling that torture porn films, or even just ordinary film and tv, may have influenced the men's actions. Would people really think to carry out such horrific, barbaric acts if they'd not seen it on tv so regularly?

Yamyoid - I honestly have the same gut feeling. Even CSI which I enjoy, is grim and detailed and I can't help but feel it eggs people on in some way, maybe by lowering their disgust threshold.

Just awful - I don't understand how anyone could inflict such injuries on anyone - cannot imagine how she must have suffered. Also the accomplices who stood by and let it happen - her poor family.

Good grief, that poor woman. Can't believe there's a poster on here who 'finds it hard to feel sorry for her'. FGS, the woman was tortured and killed over a period of weeks! If she ripped some people off, they should have gone to the police. Why didn't they, I wonder? Hmm Perhaps because it was dirty money in the first place?

they got the longest minimum sentences ever given in Scotland and it's not long enough! hope they never leave the place and die before their time is up. scumbags.
