Men with long fingernails are ultra creepy - makes me feel ill just thinking about it.

expatinscotland · 03/05/2006 11:25

I prefer men who actually participate in sport rather than just follow it.

My DH hates football and therefore DTS will not be indoctrinated into this overhyped, over-reported, overrated sport with its overhyped, overrated, overpaid, overworshipped drones who all seem to go to the football finishing school to learn to utter the usual following pap:

"well, obviously"
"well, hopefully we will get a result" (eh??)
"yeah, the lads played well"

Nightynight · 03/05/2006 13:06

feel sorry for me then dullwitch - some of the matches are going to be played in the city where I am living.

joelalie · 03/05/2006 13:10

"They are not all thick expat, there was an interview with Someone in the times the other day who went to private school and has qualifications. "

That's true but generally the other players rip the pss and the fans don't like them.....never trust a clever dck being the prevailing opinion as far as I can see. There was a West Ham player who had a degree and seemed a reasonable, intelligent bloke - can't remember his name - but his life was made hell by the fans (even my DH who also has a degree) - it just seems to be not the thing somehow. Anyway most of them do seem thick as the proverbial and struggle somewhat with the complexities of the English language. I guess that's what happens when you are brought up to know you're going to play football and nothing else matters.

I'm a West Ham fan by proxy - personally couldn't give a whatsit but living with a fan is like living with a timebomb so you learn to care a little bit... for the preservation of your sanity.

Don't mind the odd game during the world cup - even the ones where England isn't involved because you can enjoy the football as a game not just as the preliminaries to wild celebration or deep misery and sulks... Wink

foxinsocks · 03/05/2006 13:11

the TV schedules will be dominated by games

none of this crapola tv during the day/evening now

QE · 03/05/2006 13:19

Love the football, the World Cup will be on every day, all day in my household when it starts. Good job I like it with 4 footy mad boys and a dh to boot!

They will miss Rooney, no doubt but it's a mistake to over rely on one player. Big mistake to take him but think the decision is made for them now with finding it's a multipke fracture.
