how can that awful bigoted idiot who seems to take enjoy targeting the disabled & those less able to defend themselves be awarded damages in a libel case.
It stinks, he constantly defends his right to speak out but sues when a paper publishes something he doesnt agree with.

The world has gone mad, something very wrong!

I didn't say ignore it but when it comes to comedy there should be free speech. We can't live an a world constantly being afraid that something way say may offend someone

Pagwatch · 23/10/2012 11:17

As i said before, you can chose not to be offended.
You can chose not to be offended on behalf of your child.

You are surely not, I hope, suggesting that because you chose not to be offended, others have to agree with you?

What has free speech got to do with it?

I haven't asked for him to be banned. I want him to make the jokes he wants, others to chose how they view that. I chose to think he is a cunt.

pumpkinsweetie · 23/10/2012 11:19

He isn't funny now & was never funny in the past.
People that laugh at his 'jokes'(piss takes) are as bad as him and as sick as him.
He is racist, disabilist, fattist, hates kids.
He is vile, completely discusting man who makes money from using other people's lifes a joke!
What sort of 'man' says the things he says?, he is no man and one day just one day he might end up disabled or raped and then he will realise what it's like with the shoe on the other foot!

He isn't funny, don't line this sick fuckers pockets!

VeritableSmorgasbord · 23/10/2012 11:19

Secretlover, technically what you say is right: he has a right to say those things and I have the ability to ignore them.
What I'm saying is that regardless of the law, I think it's unpleasant and immoral to make millions with a shtick that's based on misogyny and jokes about paedophilia. He is harsh in his stage act. It's very uncomfortable. Not to mention that humour also creates an atmosphere of acceptance. Joke about the funny uncle? Then the funny uncle's ok! He's just some bloke innit?! It's all a JOKE!
Except it really isn't for a lot of people.
But it is legal and I can and do switch off.

secretlover · 23/10/2012 11:20

Not at all pag, just that others offense shouldn't be actionable in this case. Obviously if was being abusive in the street that's different. But you can't prosecute him for doing his job.

mymatemax · 23/10/2012 11:20

But Secret, if as a society we allow someone to stand on stage & spout abuse in the name of "comedy" how do we stop that becoming acceptable in society.

Lets not take a backward step, my severly disabled son generally has found nothing but love & support from our local community so why accept less from those in the public eye.

it does stink
why the fuck do people watch him?

even dh whose mind is in the gutter most of the time can't bear to watch him anymore (sorry dh:o)

looples · 23/10/2012 11:22

Didn't he say in court he 'champions' anti-racist causes? Isn't he giving the money to charidee??? What's wrong with you people? We KNOW that makes him a good person dammit!!

secretlover · 23/10/2012 11:22

I agree with veritable he's not overally moral or nice but constantly saying how much you hate him is just making him talked about and therefore he won't ever go away.

pumpkinsweetie · 23/10/2012 11:22

Can any of you Franky fans out there enlighten me on how his jokes are 'funny'?
Because i just don't get it?

looples · 23/10/2012 11:24

Oh and I agree with veritable. Why does he get away (legally and morally) with spiteful 'jokes' based on gender or disability?

mymatemax · 23/10/2012 11:25

I do chose to switch off, but i also chose to voice my opinion on this awful vile cunt (Pag I've joined in) when i get the opportunity.

I will choose to voice my opinion & object to people like him abusing my son & others like him whenever i get the opportunity.

Tolerance of abuse is wrong

VeritableSmorgasbord · 23/10/2012 11:25

I'm afraid all dh has to say is 'ice-fishing' and I crack up.
That was FB on Mock the Weak, NOT being a cunt.
I do find that side of him funny, despite the fact that I despise the man.

VeritableSmorgasbord · 23/10/2012 11:26
I have a very silly sense of humour.
mymatemax · 23/10/2012 11:27

I turn mock the weak off now. He makes me choke on my Gin

yes please do
i would love to know why jokes about DS and stuff like that are deemed funny

Pagwatch · 23/10/2012 11:28
Grin Constantly saying how much we hate him makes him talked about?

He is in the news today. I am commenting on a thread.
I am pretty sure I never mention Frankie Boyle from one month to another.

It is great sport to try and stereotype everyone who has an opinion into a 'type'. But no. I am not eternally offended or fretting constantly about dear old Frankie.
I am just commenting. As are you.

VeritableSmorgasbord · 23/10/2012 11:28

He's not been on it since the Rebecca Adlington complaints.
It is still the same tawdry unpleasantness but we watch anyway. [shamefaced] There are odd moments.

I saw his act a couple of times when he first started out about 15 years ago. It was funny, self effacing and not mocking the vulnerable. I thought he would do really well for himself. I didn't think for one minute he would resort to the means he has done. Its sad that he did that, cos he didn't really have to. He had the talent to make it without resorting to nastiness and lashing out at those who can't defend themselves.

I wonder how his family cope with his act? His parents are strict catholics.

mymatemax · 23/10/2012 11:32

Really veritable, I amy venture back.
I also would never pay to see him, watch him on TV or similar.

I will however voice my objections to his vileness. Ignoring him wont make him go away, it just makes those who chose to watch him think it's fine & nobody is offended if nobody voicese their offence.

OP posts:
mymatemax · 23/10/2012 11:41

& as my old Dad says
"why would anyone pay to see such a lazy comedian, Its easy to spot the difference in those that are different & poke fun, he's just not clever. I wouldnt pay to see an 8 yr old name calling in the playground, well thats all he's doing"
