I cannot believe what i am reading this morning, a 14 yo has walked FREE after raping a 4yo little girl.
It is truly sickening the act in itself, and to let him be set free and society be blamed because of porn-WTAF???!!!
I think he should be castrated and locked up, a 14 yo knows right from wrong

No they dont Pumpkin. Porn is not a part of everyone's life! Not evryone looks at it and it IS affecting teens FAR more than ever. There is sick stuff out there....and it's free to download.

This boy needs locking up and that judge needs sacking.

KatherineKavanagh · 04/07/2012 12:53

What sentencing options were open to the judge here?

ReallyTired · 04/07/2012 12:53

Whether prison rehabilates or not I feel he should be locked up to protect other children until he learns to control his hormones and desire to have sex with small children. Surely the rights of small children not be raped are more important than a 14 year old having a childhood.

I feel that the parents of the boy should be in the dock as well for letting view such extreme porn.

KatherineKavanagh · 04/07/2012 12:56

God, just read his mum was a childminder!

Yummymummyyobe1 · 04/07/2012 13:00

This boy needs to locked away for a very long time this was a sick act that is inexcusable.

KatherineKavanagh you ask what the sentencing options were the only one that would do anybody any good would be to lock this vile person away. What is he learning if he is not punished other than actions do not have consequences.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 04/07/2012 13:05

I also wanted to add he should have been named (I know people will disagree) but why should the law protect a criminal.

MortaIWombat · 04/07/2012 13:06

Actually, a twenty second google reveals that this Gareth Hawkesworth has form for this sort of judgement, even suggesting it himself if the criminal hasn't had the wit to plead corruption by the world the rest of us cope with without turning into cunts.

KatherineKavanagh · 04/07/2012 13:07

I don't know.

I wondered if anyone knew what other options the judge had open to him when sentencing children?

MonaLotte · 04/07/2012 13:11

Where were his parents when he was watching all of this porn?

MortaIWombat · 04/07/2012 13:14

And another one

Ooh, and another.

Gareth Hawkesworth really seems to have a great deal of sympathy for people who would like to - or do - fuck small children, doesn't he?

Zhx3 · 04/07/2012 13:19

What can we do? I am horrified by this news.

When there was the story about them two footballers who got their sentences reduced because their 11 year old victim was "willing", someone posted a link where we could complain.

ReallyTired · 04/07/2012 13:22

AwesomeWellies, that is terrible. Surely the cambridge student DESERVES his life to be ruined. Internet child porn is rape by proxy. In someways I find not sending a 21 year old man to prison for accessing child porn more scary than not sending the 14 year old to jail.

Internet child porn is not a victimless child. Real children are raped to produce child porn because people buy it. These children have their lives ruined and no one seems to care because they live in the third world.

I feel its time for this judge to retire.

KatherineKavanagh · 04/07/2012 13:25

pumpkin his porn viewing may have been female adults or even child porn.... It does have an effect!!

KatherineKavanagh · 04/07/2012 13:26

So if a different judge had this case presented to him, then how could he proceed? Usually someone comes on this type of thread and knows these things.

MortaIWombat · 04/07/2012 13:28

And yet another, who was due to be sentenced in March, but there doesn't seem to be any follow-up on what Hawkesworth's judgement was.

Anyone want a flutter on the result before I try to track it down? Sad

Yummymummyyobe1 · 04/07/2012 13:30

This Judge needs to review his career people are getting away with vile crimes when he sits. Perhaps he should be FIRED.

pumpkinsweetie · 04/07/2012 13:31

I don't really think letting him free is at all good enough, the victim has had no justice!
This is a small child, a little tiny child how can anyone hurt or rape a child-i do not think anything can excuse what the 14yo has done whatsover.
He would have known it was wrong and why did he feel the need to do it??
I just hope he gets what he deserves in another form as he doesn't deserve a whole new life under a different name.
Porn is bad, yes but it cannot be blamed on vile discusting creatures such as this boy doing what they do!
I just hope he isnt allowd back into school or anywhere near other kids again!!-ive no sympathy for him, sorry.
My sympathy is with the little girl who will live with this for the rest of her life and her parents that is all

The judge should be FIRED, he is obviously corrupt judging by this case and many others

I think that Judge has far too much sympathy for these monsters, and no where near enough for their victims. His comments on that page with the cambridge professor are just sickening. How on earth is a man like that responsible for justice?

I live a fairly sheltered life and stories like this make me feel like the sky is falling in. It is soul destroying.

hackmum · 04/07/2012 13:56

That's very interesting about Hawkesworth - good digging, Awesome. Makes you wonder why he's so sympathetic to these people, doesn't it.

SallyForth: 'The murderers of James Bulger were held responsible for their actions - no-one said, "Oh well, they've been watching violence on tv which may have influenced them. Let's be lenient."'

Actually, some people did argue that. I think one of the things we haven't really talked about here is the role of parents - there was certainly some bad parenting going on in the Bulger case and probably in this one too. Why were this boy's parents letting him look at pornography? Why aren't they being held into account?
