30yr old woman dies during London Marathon

Just heard this awful news. Her poor family.

my dp ran the marathon today, i havent had the chance to speak to him properly so no idea if he has heard this news.

Nothing on the BBC website.

Actually it has been mentioned but not as a headline .

I saw it on the Virgin Marathon Facebook page. Not releasing many details yet. She was a mile from the end

Its terribly sad isn't it . You just don't expect things like to happen.

I rean in the 25th GNR when 4 people died. I still shudder now thinking about it.

awful and she had run the marathon before so obviously knew what she was doing, she was raising money for the samaritans apparently, very sad :(

however in one paper the quotes online are calling for the marathon to be banned etc stupid reaction imo.

I saw this on BBC website earlier on in the day. I was totally gob smacked - she was fit , healthy and obviously a very generous and selfless person.
