Here At least she admitted it's wrong. Let's hope this will help her to stop?

She does other 'stuff'... Famous for being famous, is no great loss is it?

Synyster · 05/03/2012 18:04

have you seen the people who have won this in the past?
it is a joke anyway

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 05/03/2012 18:06

A few fags here and there aren't going to do much damage, but she's either utterly stupid, utterly arrogant or utterly naive to think she'd escape a pasting once she got caught smoking (which was probably inevitable, considering).

She'd have got away with eating unsafe foods because pâté and unpasteurised soft cheese (or whatever the listeriosis/vit A risks are these days - I'm well out of the loop) aren't seen as things nice girls avoid.

Takemeout · 06/03/2012 10:28

It is the most stupid award in the first place! Wasn't Natasha giggs in the running for it? Mmmmm ..... morals much?

AnyFucker · 06/03/2012 10:32

she is on This Morning today, if anyone is interested

fortoday · 06/03/2012 11:01

poor love- can't bear these holier than thou people- the girl has tears in her eyes on this morning- making her out as a bad mom, people should look at themselves before they start judging others- i'm fuming

MarieFromStMoritz · 06/03/2012 11:04

making her out as a bad mom

She is a bad mum.

sinead300 · 06/03/2012 11:05

cannot believe the holier than thou attitudes on here, i feel sorry for her. I don't smoke, don't condone it, but give her a break...

LilacWaltz · 06/03/2012 11:06

You are fuming??

She is the one you need to be fuming at! And her poor poor partner has to put up with it it seems

LilacWaltz · 06/03/2012 11:06

Yeah... Let's give the poor soul a break.... What about her baby?

Beamur · 06/03/2012 11:07

I don't think losing this 'job' will put her on the breadline.
But she shouldn't be 'mum of the year' if she is smoking while pregnant. She's hardly putting her unborn childs welfare first is she?

Kellamity · 06/03/2012 11:07

I can't believe how many perfect mums there are on mumsnet, amazing! Hmm

I'm not perfect, no I've never smoked but I'm far from perfect. She was very brave to go on This Morning as well. It's so easy to judge!

fortoday · 06/03/2012 11:08

marie- how is she a bad mom- clearly you are a super mom then that can cast your judgement on others- ugh

Heavensmells · 06/03/2012 11:09

I felt really sorry for her too on This Morning. It's very wrong to smoke whilst pregnant and she obviously knows that. I haven't ever smoked so can't judge her for saying how hard it is to quit although I do a tiny bit. She seems like a nice girl though.

AnyFucker · 06/03/2012 11:11

I like her

She made a mistake...so fucking what

I have known dozens of pg women who smoked

Doesn't make it right, but it's really not a hanging offence

LilacWaltz · 06/03/2012 11:12

So if she knows how wrong it is and knows the harm it can do, then why does she still do it?

It's not just her child....

Kellamity · 06/03/2012 11:13

I had my first child at the same time as my best friend. She was a smoker and as soon as she found out she was pregnant she desperately wanted to give up but found it so hard. She was given minimal support, so sad to see. She cut down massively but couldn't quite give up completely Sad

We should be helping and supporting mums like Stacey not judging them Sad

MarieFromStMoritz · 06/03/2012 11:13

No, I'm not supermum, but I would not smoke whilst pregnant. It is one of the worst things that you can do. Why do that to your child? And if she is that addicted to smoking that she couldn't give up, then why get pregnant again?

Selfish, irresponsible behaviour.

AnyFucker · 06/03/2012 11:14

Hey, we don't need men to knock us down, do we

other women can do it for us much more efficiently

Beamur · 06/03/2012 11:16

She may be a perfectly nice woman, and yes, no-one is perfect - but, smoking while pregnant having been labelled as a kind of mum 'ambassador' is a recipe for public mauling.

fortoday · 06/03/2012 11:16

here here anyfucker- all those moms that are smoking while pregnant lets round them up with our pitch fork- witches the lot of them!

MollieO · 06/03/2012 11:17

I saw her interview on This Morning. She said she wants to give up but hasn't actually done anything about trying to give up. Not impressed at all.

fortoday · 06/03/2012 11:17

you do have a point on that note beamur- just feel awful about the public battering she is experiencing x
