He is the MP for my old home and my parents' constituency. Personally, I hope he is kicked out of the constituency for this, but then, I would never have voted for him anyway.

Yes, I can see that using a prostitute shows a lack of regard for other human beings. I would only prefer my dh to do that than have an affair, because I wouldn't want to think of someone else supplanting my position in my husband's affections.

his poor wife indeed, if it were me, his bags would already be packed and the locks changed

I'm with the affair above prostitution if forced to choose camp.

LM, do you really think nobody's bisexual? I have several friends who've had partners of both genders.

Lonelymum · 22/01/2006 19:01

Well, MI, I am possibly the western world's most innocent person alive today, so i don't know a lot about it, but I tend to feel, altough people experiment with both genders, they probably have a lleaning towards one side or the other.

But I don't really know TBH.

Meanoldmummy · 22/01/2006 19:02

LM...again, I can see your point, but if my dh unexpectedly turned out to be a disgusting perverted mutant who preyed on vulnerable poverty-driven young boys in the gutter for kicks, I don't think I'd be fighting very hard for my "place in his affections".....I'd be running too fast

Lonelymum · 22/01/2006 19:05

Me too MOM!

Really, I can't believe I am siting here saying it would be OK for my man to visit a prostitute. Of course, it would most definitely not be all right!

I suppose I am just thinking of it from my POV and I would be devastated if my dh fell for another woman.

I would also be devastated if he visited a prostitute.

He would be out the door quicker than you can say "Mark Oaten" if he indulged in unspeakable acts of sexual degradation with anyone!

PeachyClair · 22/01/2006 19:50

We were wondering this about why he thought he could get away with it too. Odd decision, to run considering. Mind you, maybe the LibDems (and I am a member!) think that they are finally getting on a par with the other two parties with this! An equal playing field, all sleazy ba**ards together in the House.

DH CONSIDERED (ie didn't) using a prostitute before he met me, when he was a 28 year old virgin and truly believed he would die one, he was waiting for 'Mrs Right' and believed he had turned away all his opportunities. He didn't, and knowing him I don't think for one minuyte he could do it. If Dh had a one night stand, unless very pissed (unlikely) I would know I had lost him, for him sex=love. Unusual, in a man.

I think it is fair to say that his political career is well and truly buggered

Apologies for any offence caused

When asked about the poor whale that was stuck in the Thames, he said that he would be delighted to back a Free Willy campaign

bluesky · 21/02/2006 17:26
