Peacocks is great for a last minute buy. I will be very sad to see it go. Not too bothered about Bonn Marche though!

don't they come out the worst in the high street ethical tables? good riddance if so! Primark rates much better if I remember correctly!

and past times haven't changed their stock in the last 10 years from what I can see

love what's happened to my local high street, chains closing so rates lowered for sole traders to fill empty units! fab for everyone!

I used to work for them. Had to wear an awful, blue nylon uniform, definitely unethical forcing me to wear that.

I really don't need another hairdressers or all night fag shop though!

They got too expensive, used to be ok but the price rises didnt reflect the quality.

i get all DH s socks from peacocks - they do a large size foot up to a size 13.
god knows where ill get them now.

Pumpkin patch has gone into administration too, with Peacocks all in all about 10,000 people are going to loose their jobs. Very scary times for the high street.

From what i read they are going to keep Peacocks stores open and try and find a buyer!

Add into that the fact that, if it hasn't gone already, your mothercare and elc will be gone form your high street, since they're moving exclusively into retail parks. The stores in the Metrocentre and a few other places closed last week. These particular stores are opposite the waterstones that closed in September and next to the Rosebys store that closed a few years ago and never got filled. Hawkins Bazaar is next to all that, too - no idea how long that will stay. This is all in a big shiny shopping centre, not even a small town high street.

Oh I will miss Peacocks. Won't miss Pumpkin Patch, I have bought a couple of things there but I don't like the way they always ask for your postcode, and if you decline, they are really insistent about it. I hope the assistants don't think I am being rude by refusing, I just don't think they have any right to that information. I feel sorry for anyone who is losing their job though.

pissed off. small town good place and only place to buy bits. was bereft when woolies went, so this will hit our town hard.
