I know there are threads flying about all over the place re; the strike, but this is purely to register support - it would be great if we could keep it going until midnight on Thursday ( 30th June )

you don't have to say anything - just smile, like this Smile

Smile I support the teachers

Xenia · 30/06/2011 09:52

NUT poster says

No cuts to pay or pensions

That feels to me as if it should say No custs to pay nor pensions

Am I right? It hits me as wrong but I am not a grammar expert. What do teachers think? I often add n to ors when I am correcting things.

Hullygully · 30/06/2011 09:53

Someone should direct them here. I don't think they realise that there is a huge amount of popular support for the teachers and other public sector workers cos they believes the pop meedja. And they is wanky cowardy custards.

EightiesChick · 30/06/2011 09:55

Smile Full support for the teachers and all other strikers (of which I am one). I am going to the rally near me.

MyTiChaSte · 30/06/2011 09:59

minibinibecky · 30/06/2011 10:00

Finally - a non-teacher bashing thread at last :) Gets my support but my union aren't striking Hmm

Solidarity · 30/06/2011 10:03

SHJ - there's no political party I can fully identify with anymore -
we need to pull together as people and send a clear message to all politicians - we're not going to be pawns in your political game -

YouGov man on Today Programme said public opinion is pretty much 50:50 at the moment

this indicates to me that the pro-teachers and public servants view should be reflected in Parliament. Labour should be looking at that rather than the front page of the Express.

Exactly SHJ - Labour are too scared to show support for unions these days - they might lose a few middle England votes.

Absolute support to all striking today.
I wouldn't like to see teachers in their late sixties having to deal with difficult situations in schools.

I don't like this government's tactics. They did this with the benefits for people with disabilities, made a few mistruths get out there in the public domain and parrotted until it was perceived to be the truth so they could then just storm in there and do what the fuck they liked.

They're doing the same with public sector pensions. Disgusting individuals.

NinthWave · 30/06/2011 10:42

sogrownup · 30/06/2011 10:54

Smile Good luck to all the teachers striking and all the public sector who are currently being bashed!!
Try a work to rule if this doesn't work, then people may appreciate how much you go 'beyond the call' on a daily basis!!
I support you all 100%
