Can't find a nrews report but there must be one. It was the topic of discussion on LBC this morning.

It was a few years ago. He was part of a gang that kidnapped 2 girls and took part in raping these girls, at knifepoint, 45 times I think it was. He was given 7 years and served 3, that info is correcxt.

He's looking at £50,000 compensation and trying to relese a record to raise more money.

Personally I think he should give the money to the 2 girls who are scarred for life emotionally. Whay compensation did they receive for his crime on them?

Certainly changed my view on him.
Makes me feel sick.

Looooong piece about one of the 2 women he raped in the Telegraph today. She was particularly upset and angry about the "victims" sign he held outside No 10.

Doesn't surprise me in the least - poor woman.
I've often wondered how defence lawyers manage to do their jobs when their instinct tells them their client is guilty. I'd be hopeless at it.

What a powerful article.

The £50,000 should go to Rape Crisis. There is no way this man should recieve so much as a penny regardless of the past being the past and he served his time. No he didn't. He should still be in jail where he belongs.

He lost a limb...aw diddums. How sympathetic am I? Ooh, lets see...nope. Can't find any sympathy at all.
The word 'karma' keeps floating through my mind.

i thought you couldnt recieve comp if you have a criminal record as my s-sis got the crap beat out her by her x and she didnt get anything cos she had a record

aloha · 26/11/2005 22:45

You can, but it's usually reduced, sometimes to nothing.

well hope that happens to him. i know what its like to have that taken away and even though i didnt go to the police would hate him to be called a great person etc. its bad enough my family think he is fab

Thanks for posting that, Janh, I wouldn't have seen it otherwise. I've thought about this such a lot - partly about my "pity his penis wasn't blown off" comment (which kind of goes against everything I try to be as a human being) and partly because I've wondered about the two girls: I was 16 twenty years ago too, so their lives have run parallel with mine and I wondered if they had married, had children etc (I was really happy to read she is married with three little ones).

Reading that article I can stand by what I said - though, really, the damage is done, his victims have seen his face and had to relive what they went through. She's a brave woman.
