Just heard that on Radio 4 news, from the inquest. Bastards.

Isn't on the website yet but this story does point out the copper is still lying even when confronted with the video footage.

Seriously though, what is it about all the footage of the incident that you don't trust?

Surely it's pretty clear that the officer was a major part of what happened and should (but won't) expect some punnishment? Yes, the whole system may have huge flaws but the policeman should surely be responsible for his actions!

My DP has been at the inquest, and believe me the extra footage they've seen compared to that which has been in the media doesn't put Harwood in a better light - he was involved in several questionable incidents before he even came into contact with Tomlinson, and apparently shouldn't even have been out of his vehicle.

Sadly doesn't surprise me, Rita. At least it allows the jury to judge whether he's telling the truth or not.

Apparently the jury were told that Harwood retired from the police on medical grounds and then rejoined 3 days later but couldn't be told why/any details of his disciplinary record. Lots of Hmm faces in the jury.
