Labour control freaks get goons to throw 82 year old heckler out of conference

These control freaks get worse. This bloke shouted "nonsense", once, so the bouncers threw him out. There was a bloke in the same row as him who remonstrated with them, saying "leave him alone, he's an old man" so they threw him out too.

The labour hierarchy then issued a statement which said that he'd been asked three times to be quiet. This is a lie.

Even I'm surprised by this, though I don't know why anymore.

I can well believe it. Blair's Labour is like Animal Farm and 1984 mixed together in the way it behaves. I had also heard that there were people walking about encouraging folk to clap during Blair's fanciful speech and if people didn't clap loud enough they would stand behind them and clap really loudly.

There was a segment in the news about tomorrow's Livingston by-election and the Labour rottweilers were harrassing a walk-about by the Lib Dems. Same as they did during the general election, holding up Labour placards, jeering, asking silly questions, jostling everyone. Surely I am not the only one who finds these bully-boy tactics distasteful?

I've just read the Piers Morgan book, The Insider, and much as Piers isn't my favourite man Blair really does sound like such an arse and Cherie sounds worse. Wtf were they thinking of? Makes me want to go there and heckle a lot, quite frankly and chain myself to the railings or something. But hey, I'm old, I haven't got time.

I saw this on the news- absolutely staggering, not least because of the apparent lack of awareness of how it would look, as SP says. Good on the bloke though, I hope I'm that outspoken at 82!

They've now apologised - obviously realised they're not going to get away with it.

I expect they'll just blame the bouncer and sack him - like he introduced the policy.

Shocked becaues my godmother is in her late 80s and often goes to Conference - has been a life-long party activist. Could have been her. Her view is "Blairs may come and Blairs may go but this is MY party and will still be my party after he's gone." Can't agree sadly - he's changed it so much half the people have gone, leaving Blairite snivellers who don't protest about this sort of thing. Shame on them.

The use of the terrorism act is disgusting - exactly why we should never have had these laws, it was obvious they would be misused against anyone who disagrees with the government of the day.

Does no-one else care about this? I agree Sherlock, the lack of outrage is almost as shocking as an old man being ejected from a conference (using anti terrorism law) for shouting the word 'nonsense.'
