Posted on another thread on this - not normally a celeb-watcher but I was due around the same time as Lily Allen but had an MMC at 11 weeks.

It really knocks you for six and is a soul-destroying experience. Losing the baby later on, when you think you're past the danger stage and it's become a real baby you can feel inside must be horrendous. I really feel for Lily Allen and hope the press respect her right to grieve.

Poor Lily and partner, how truly devastating.

How horrible :( very sorry for them. I lost 2 babies at a simelar stage and 2 earlier so i feel for them as it is so heartbreaking.

Absolutely awful. I'm very sad for them both. I hope the media gives them their privacy.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 02/11/2010 08:01

Dreadful and the worst thing is having to live it out in the glare of the media.

DirtyMartiniOfDoom · 02/11/2010 08:36

Oh no. Oh poor Lily, and her partner, how dreadful.

:(

valiumskeleton · 02/11/2010 08:37

That's awful... She'll never be able to enjoy a pregnancy having lost a baby so late into it. Really sad.

Absolutely tragic. So sorry for her Sad

I also find it odd that the press continue to refer to a "miscarriage". Lily announced her pregnancy at the begining of August "following a 12 week scan" so I think she was further on that 24 weeks.

Having lost a baby at a similar stage, one of the things that I struggled with the most was the insistance of some to "downplay" my loss to "just a miscarriage".

It feels insensitive Sad
