by the looks of the tresury's stance they're sayin no to the cuts!

Oh for fecks sake - I hope they arrest and charge anyone who does this. I can't face all that crap again.

stock up on bread and milk I recon cos last time I couldn't get any for love nor money.

I think I might fill up a few jerry cans of diesel and stow them. Not driving is not an option for me. I live in a rural location.

thankfully we should (should) be ok, we've got food etc.. and the car (I'd sooner do without anyways) I work in a rural place but as I say if need be then we'll have to car pool with a few girls. that's the only thing last time after 2/3 days there was no bread/ fresh stuff in the shops. - I had to buy those small cartons of milk from macdonalds as they were the only place that had them.

I don't agree with the whole country grinding to a halt thing but I think the country as a whole should make a protest. It's a disgrace that fuel is so much cheaper in other countries, why is that? Why are we stupid enough to pay over the odds for the supposed luxury of running a car?

That's just the added worry I need as my due date is 3 days away

my dh is a couier at the moment he is looking for another job he is finding it hard to make it pay,i think it,sgood that some people stand up for what they believe to be right,it may be incovinant for some but necessary for others.

I don't understand why a few oilwells in the Gulf of Mexico going out of action for a short time puts the price of petrol here up by 10p a litre, which would represent a rise in the price of oil of nearly 50% (because 75% of the cost of a litre is duty and VAT and only about 20% is oil) - has anybody seen an explanation/justification in words of one syllable anywhere?

Of course, Brown's going to say no to cuts! Big shocker there. He's the one who paid millions of taxpayer pounds for a useless computer system that bollocked the tax credits system to all hell, then left tens of thousands of working poor families living below poverty level when they were discovered to have been overpaid tax credits. Write off their 'debts' when they were proven to be the fault of the costly computer system? No way! Let 'em starve.

He doesn't care about the working poor, so why should he be bothered about people who have to use their cars to eek out a living.

He makes me sick.

well said ES - also who was the MP who spent some redicular amount like 100K in taxpayers money on just wallpapering his office? I ask u really. but of course if he did ever cut fuel tax (not that he would as it brings in to much revenue) he'd only lump it back on somewhere else for example NI/Income tax and wack us there instead.

Of course he would. After all, HE isn't the one trying to make a living in a rural area, where public transport is non-existent, much less depend on a car to get his child much-needed medical care, buy food, etc.

If they do block the refineries next week I absolutely won't be able to get to work so will lose a lot of pay. It will piss me off no end.
