Yep a video of the officer twatting the guy with a stick is pretty flimsy evidence for assult.....

I am not police bashing (no pun intended) but this does seem a bit much.

Jutice for all?.

"After a thorough and careful review of the evidence, the CPS has decided that there is no realistic prospects of a conviction against the police officer in question for any offence arising from the matter investigated and that no charges should be brought against him."

He wasnt 'G20 man' he was Ian Tomlinson, a person just going about his business...

Sadly not surprising that no officer will be charged. No office is ever charged when the police kill.

If the DPP really thinks there's debate about the medical evidence then surely that evidence should be put before a jury? That's supposed to be how our system works. (The whole idea of a debate is laughable anyway - the cops went for their friendly pathologist who would give the 'right' result, never mind that he's up before the GMC for incompetence. But hey, let's ignore the fact that two other competent pathologists say the poor man died of internal bleeding...)

There are no rants here.

The police are corrupt and dangerous. They have been given way too many powers and each time they kill an innocent civilian - hundreds since WW2 - they do not receive custodial sentences.

They concoct evidence and perjure themselves in court, allowing mass murderers to escape justice. But even though they perjure themselves, eg: Guildford 4, Birmingham 6, Bridgewater Gang, Winston Silcott, Engin Raghip, Mark Braithwaite, Cardiff 3, Stephen Kizko and all the many others who are fitted up and never succeed in getting out - they never face even perjury trials.

It's a lesson for the plebs; fuck with the state and we can kill you with impunity.

Five armed thugs ran on a train, held a guy down, knelt on his back and shot him five times in the head turning his head to pulp. Not a single person was held accountable.

That is state execution. The fact you have a flat screen TV and an internet connection doesn't mean you live in a democracy.

I was at the horribly casual way Ian Tomlinson was shoved/twatted/thumped from behind for no reason- it barely registered amongst the other officers

don't know about you but that indicates to me that they're quite happy with this sort of [ahem] 'policing method'

edam · 23/07/2010 17:04

quite, springheeled. It's clearly not one bad apple.

Was amused by all the commentators at the time being shocked that the coppers involved had taken off their badges (which is illegal). They've been doing that for decades when policing demos.

On of the TSG - who killed Tomlinson - went online and mocked the death of the guy...

edam · 23/07/2010 18:25

yeah, the evil bastards know full well they are untouchable. Short of assassinating a VIP they can do what the hell they like. But Mr Tomlinson was only an ordinary guy, so the authorities don't give a crap.
