MickeyLee - Funnily enough her teacher called her delicate - its a new thing - the slightest scrap or cut she will freak and throw up. Its annoying as today she has a small cut (tiny) but because of the position it won't stop bleeding so its took an hour to calm her down. I just need her to stop being sick when it happens though

I think i'm going have to go with tough love soon to get her over it.

MickyLee · 04/06/2010 12:17

just realised i spelt Delicate wrong when i read how you spelt it MC

Poor dd MC. She must be realising she isn't invincible. Little girls are quite eccentric at this age I think .

wendy poor you feeling so tired in this heat. You sound as if you've been quite busy though.

We have been on the beach again today. Looks like the weather is to change at the weekend .

MickyLee · 04/06/2010 20:42

Evening all..

Just conpleted an hours worth of ironing so feeling quite happy with myself. My day has gone ok.. felt lazy though so just took my time plodding along doing bits as and when. Managed to get DH to take us to the supermarket in the car for a stock up of everything except fruit and veg as it is market day tomorrow so will be popping there.

Tomorrow very busy day with market in the afternoon and baby group mid-morning so not going to give myself a list.. just pick up after ourselves to keep on top.

Have a good weekend everyone x

very busy day ahead, running from one thing to next, communion practice x 2. Telly ban will be lifted with Dr Who this eve they were playing again nicely this morning, the only problem we can't put them in a room and know it will stay tidy
just taken dcs out of house so that dh can tidy up a bit, tennis again - they've discovered the Sat drop-in lesson (usually we are at music, but it's halfterm so a chance to try it)

feeling a bit shattered now, and generally grumpy about everything
Guest-itis
made two cakes yesterday eve and flapjacks
house MAY be tidier when I return

looking back at yest list I see I did no cleaning at all, except kitchen (endlessly)
nothing houseworky except meals, and kids, washing, still to put away
done
more shopping
pinata with white tissue (I knew that boot from two years ago would come in useful]
party food baking
watering
laundry

love your beach life scatty

Wolfcub · 05/06/2010 16:46

just popping in to say hi

MickyLee · 05/06/2010 18:49

Evening everyone.
wolf Hi back
swan i know the feeling of putting them in a tidy room.. doesn't stay that way for long!

Still no tv here so chilling out with a glass of wine and laptop.

Did nothing around the house today other than cooking food and cleaning uo after it!
Went to baby group and DC had a good time as I did. And a friend came back to mine for an hour so had a very social day.

Tomorrow DH is home so got a nice list of DIY for him and a little job of washing the windows

Hopefully get out later in the afternoon to the park so DC can run around.

Swan I never got anything houseworky done yesterday- or today either.
Still back to school monday so will catch up then.

Am feeling very tired this evening, WE went for a swim with a friend this morning was in the pool for almost 3 hours . then popped to tesco for barbeuce food before collect dnephew, we hada barbecue and I managed to burn my toes on one foot; barbecue had been out ( or so it looked) for about hour and a half. dc asked if it was still hot as i had my hands full i kicked it to see - it was incredibly hot! I won't do that again

scattyspice · 06/06/2010 09:09

Oh no dyl poor you!

swan is the party today? If so good luck .

I seemed to spend nearly all day yesterday buying and installing a printer (including multiple visits to shop for leads, ink etc). The process was made far slower (and more frustrating) by DDs constant requirements and dh constant suggestions. All this so that ds could do his homework (which took him 5 mins). .

Off to nursery (plants, not children) and possibly pub lunch . Then face the challenge of getting ready for school/work tomorrow .

wendyhappysmile · 06/06/2010 10:56

Hi All Mickey We have black out blinds and curtains, goodness knows what time DS would get up if we didn't!
In fact since I put DS on futon in his (new) room and DD on her new single bed (his old one) in her (new) room it's been better - DD back to sleeping til 7.30 and DS back to 6.30. But he is good and entertains himself til everyone else gets up - also gets his own breakfast if he is ravenous - bless him! I also lay table for breakfast, hope that it's remembered fondly!
OFM and MakingChanges Loved Clumber Park, our first visit - we will return! it was very busy but as you said found a shady spot under a tree for a lovely picnic.
Yesterday local National Trust in afternoon was also very relaxing and chilled.
DH has finished painting DS's room. yesterday I swapped the clothes over - that was a MAMMOTH task. DD has so many clothes (hand me downs from friends)! Also did sort out of outgrown stuff at the same time.
Today it is the big TOY SWAP OVER. Need the capitals I'm afraid as it's another big task!
BBL

dylsmum1998 · 06/06/2010 14:07

Scatty printers seem to take me forever to set up too. I'm not very technical though could be why.

Wendy glad you found some shade yesterday.

I am really struggling with ds this week. HE is so grumpy/shouty/rude! Last night I put him to bed at 6.30pm as he was shouting at me, then this morning we have been to a party for dd, he was rude and shouty to me there. I told him i was really cross, he had behaved appallingly, and didn't raise my voice. I withdrew chat from him all the way home I was so cross , think he reallised how much he upset me as he just hoovered the whole house and apologised.

I am going to do the ironing today, have been putting it off for days and really needs doing.

scattyspice · 06/06/2010 18:33

Oh no dyl how old is he? At least he realised he'd upset you I guess .

wendy good luck with the toy sort out. I am trying to devise a plan to sneak a few of DDs toys into the school fair without being detected .

Had a nice day buying plants, lunch at the cheese farm, gardening.

Am 3/4 way through the back to school/work preparations.

MickyLee · 06/06/2010 18:53

dyls ooo.. the burnt toe.. bet you wish you went swimming for 3 hours after not before now. sorry to hear DS is playing up for you

wendy They grow out of clothes far too quick don't they.. i always intend on keeping my DC's but then run of of space then give them away!

SS sounds like a nice day.. although i can't manage a house plant nevermind gardening

DH romoved all the windows today to wash them, they are sliding ones so have to remove them. but very nice to see clearly out of them now

DS who has just turned one and been walking for a while now loves climbing. he climbs on anything he can. Today he pulled the little stool DD stands on to brush her teeth out of the bathroom and fell off resulting into a bruised swollen eye!! He will just have to learn fast i think because is is all over the place.. we have removed as many dangerous things as possible of course.

As we were all at home today just chilled out and played with DC, cooked and cleaned up after it but tomorrow will have to give the place a once over.

We have bought ds some guinea pigs, other than cleaning new cage and sorting out some space for them we have done nothing today.

wm unloaded reloaded a couple of times
dw same

dylsmum1998 · 06/06/2010 20:31

Micky yes I burnt the toes after swimming- the shower I had after doing it was very painful. Smothered them in sudocrem after and they are not sore today, just a bit red!

Scatty- yes ds has been very peaceful since I lost my temper. He's 11 and has been very hard work this week.
I'm planning a bootfair this weekend with lots of dc toys- dd is off to her dads, ds is happy to help if he is not with his dad

Wolf- I love guineas how many do you have? I love the way ours used to squel when I opened the fridge door- they were outside yet still always knew

Wolfcub · 06/06/2010 21:40

dyls we got two today. A very very young mum and her daughter. I am hoping that helping to care for them will calm ds a bit

dylsmum1998 · 06/06/2010 22:04

Wolf awww, hope it works

have been sat watching the socceraid match, am v.. disappointed England lost- am sue I spotted my friend on the tv (she was there watching)- so jealous!

swanriver · 06/06/2010 22:26

Wolf, I read your message first, and assumed you had human visitors, just realsed they are gps...
Scatty I thought I was the only person in the world who ddn't have a printer for their dcs' homework . Tell me which model to get, please. Not good news that installation is tricky, don't think dh will be any help either. We are still handwriting info from computer/books and getting cross wth poor teacher when she asks for printouts.

Communion celebrations and Mass went well. Did spend a fair proportion of the Mass thinking dd's veil was on wrong instead of thinking holy thoughts, tis easy to get distracted by trivial worries.
Party was very jolly, although I don't think anyone realsed that dh and I had spent about a month trying to tidy the house and garden. I think they thought it was just charmingly shabby as opposed to merely squalid. It amazes me how much dh is prepared to spend on drink compared to staircarpet/turf.

ML babies love to climb don't they..frightening.
Dyls ds is always shouty now, I think it must be hormones, and yet he hates it when I shout at him, so there may be hope. He's ten now, and is this funny combination of sweet little boy holding my hand chatting as we walk down the street and crazy obstinate adolescent. Possibly they are trying to break free when they shout at us

Nuttybear · 07/06/2010 10:17
