Don't mention digi cameras ruby we bought a cheap kids one (from Next) for ds for Xmas. Its rubbish, software is complicated and takes ages to load and the camera takes very blurry pictures (he is quite good with our Olympus). The moral is you need to spend more than 30 quid I guess.

I have been busy and done:
Living room/dining room floor
bathroom
recycling
laundry

We bought a digital camera from the local pawn shop for dd, it was v. superior to ds1's NEW one, and cheaper. She didn't notice it was s/h.

Busy day, and made lemon cheesecake with ds2
Dh is turning into a raving political animal, now refusing to buy Guardian as he says it's turned Liberal.

TeaMonster · 05/05/2010 01:12

Hola my friends. I am finding it hard to find the time to do anything at the moment, things are just so hectic.

I also have been pretty under the weather, I had anemia (4 pints of clood later) I am strating to get back on my feet, but have to go back in for more tests.

I am also back to see surgeon on Thursday am, which made me come on a nd say hellp and thankyou for all your support over that dreadful time.

Mum is OK, I am going to apply for carers allowance as we are in serious trouble regarding money or lack of it, anyway sorry for being a bad Fly baby. I do love you all

scattyspice · 05/05/2010 07:51

Oh Tea Lovely to see you again. What a lot you have to contend with. Hope they can get ontop of the anaemia, it must be draining.

I know its abit early but I have been pondering this.

Today:
laundry
hall and bedroom
beavers/rainbows
buy food

Hi Tea nice to see you, keep on keeping on, hon
Scatty very profound, true I think!
ruby good luck with buying the camera
swan I am with your DH on that one. Had to buy the Independent today as no other newspapers (worth reading) are non Tory/lib Dem. Rather excited about the election - I love politics and have been glued to it for the last 5 weeks.

Feeling very very bad the last few days ... managed to get by doing usual activities but no flying or indeed cleaning other than a quick wipe around the kitchen ... house is going to need a huge spring clean when i finally start to feel better!!!

swanriver · 05/05/2010 12:55

Tea so you should get an attendance allowance, you should have got one ages before now in light of all you do.

Scatty I'm working on trying to hear the crying in my children in a non-maternal way, just as an annoying sound, not as something guaranteed to send knives through my heart. I can actually stand a lot if dh is in a good mood, I suppose I rely on him as a sort of commonsense o-meter.
I have also been thinking a lot about the effects of MY Moods on the children - it's easy isn't it to think they don't notice [selfish little creatures]but unfortunately I think they notice a lot, and I feel terrible about it because I think I blame them, for responding to MY uncertainties.

I have just had an elderly neighbour round for a long chat, never once invited her around in the last ten years she is now 90. It was lovely. This street is strange/aka we are all a strange bunch of neighbours - so totally frightened to being seen to twitch curtains that we go the other extreme

anyway off to long overdue p practise now, then lesson and v. busy afternoon.

swanriver · 05/05/2010 13:00

Wendytwo more weeks to go, then you'll feel better - it seems forever doesn't it?
Things here are hanging by a thread, politically I mean, last election I think the Labour candidate only got in by 800 votes, so Dh is terrified I am going to take out the incumbent(is that what he's called?) by voting the WRONG way. Actually, I now try not to read anything political because if I have any opinions he just flies into a rage. My parents used to cast cancelling votes at every election.

OverflowingMum · 05/05/2010 14:23

Makingchanges · 06/05/2010 11:05

Morning all - suffering with an ear and throat infection so not been on here recently. Feeling a little better today so hope to get back to it. Not caught up with thread so apologies for no individual comments.

DD off nursery today as school is polling station. was hoping for nice weather but grey and miserable so have played at holidays, done a jigsaw and now she is watching a little telly whilst I catch up. Planning on making buns this afternoon and then ballet later. Should just about survive that.

Lots to do today

  • Washing, washing, washing
  • Change beds
  • sign language notes from yesterday to write up
  • Make bacon and mushroom tagliatelle for tonights tea
  • 2 book reviews to write
  • Online banking
  • Make buns with DD (cheating as bought a barbie mix a few weeks ago)
  • DD to ballet
  • Clean bathrooms - seems to be growing bottles and potions again
  • Sort out mega pile of DVDs that are growing on the windowsill
  • Fold and put away 3 baskets of clean washing (Growing by the day)
  • Hoover downstairs

I'm gonna see how I go and if i start to feel rubbish again may make this my list for today and tomorrow

Back later

Nuttybear · 06/05/2010 11:08

Morning Just checking in. Ds home at the mo just waiting for Sis to arrive. Should be doing something educational with Ds but want to be inventive as I don't want to hear a moan. I'll do some laundry while I think something up. maybe Sis will arrive by then and save me!

swanriver · 06/05/2010 12:22

Having a DREADFUL DAY here. My mental state is rubbing off on kids.
Have voted with kids in tow (school closed)- they managed to nearly mow down two old ladies on sticks who were struggling to polling station, I felt so upset by their awfulness. Playing tag on pavement - not a good idea.
Took our elderly neighbour to polling station at same time ironically, thus unable to control kids.
House seems not fit for human habitation, dd is again complaining there is nothing to do, when her room is filled with toys, books, stationery. Every time kids speak I feel myself wincing at their loud aggressive tones .
Anyway now need to pull myself together and take them out, I almost feel frightened to take them anywhere, I feel hypersensitive to their behaviour today for some reason.

Now feel better, after chat on phone to friend, everyone has calmed down, off out now. Beautiful sunny day.

swanriver · 06/05/2010 12:26

Wolf wishing you a wonderful trip
Nutty enjoy sis visit
OFM hope meeting goes well for dd3, sorry about your migraine, I woke at 3.00am too
Ruby feel your exasperation at bedtime jollitiesand late nights

aha dd has found an occupation, adjusting my ringtones and my outfit

OverflowingMum · 06/05/2010 14:26

swan hope your day continues in better way....

wolf have a great time!!

ruby yes...bedtimes...aaaarrrggggh Have resorted to pure unadulturated bribery with dd2. If she goes tobed, and sleep without fuss for 4 nights she getsa comic....so far so good LOL

meeting at school total waste of time. Same old rubbish. DD3 still way behind - despite her scores on intelligence testing showing sheis above averageintelligence. Completely fobbed off by teachers again...who dont seem concerened at all. Learning Suppor Assesment still not happened, despite being referred in Feb, and probably wont happen before end of year.Another year of school totally wasted, and still she can barely read
Will be on specialneeds board tonight to find out about applying for statementing I think. Very tired of having to fight for everything...sigh....

Now...quick cuppa before school pick up...then collect dd from friends....
anotherday with too many commitments-feeling all on edge...aaarrrggghhh

BBL
