Hi all.

Sympathy for those with closed schools (BH and school closure in the same week is Too much). Luckily our school able to stay open despite being polling station.

ruby bed time always exasparating here (dc share a room). DDs teacher keeps telling me she is tired in class, but she has no inclination to go to sleep or stay asleep . Audio books some help (with ds mainly).

wolf have a lovely time .

OFM how frustrating . The SENCO statement for ds has really helped him get more support (and we didn't even realise he needed it ). Seems they don't really identify them until yr2 though (sats related?) Hope you can get something sorted.

MC hope you managed your busy day.

mad Are you going for direct payments? Seems quite popular with lots of my patients.

BBL - cheercats.

Back from very long walk, however tempers seem worse not better, too cold to start and now too hot!!!
Dd and ds2 fighting over scooter, ds1 trying to push dd into road, and me carrying far too many HEAVY bags [why did I make my usual mistake of factoring a few little errands?)
dd and ds2 are driving me completely bonkers behaviour wise

However on good side:
bought two new pairs of Clarks from shoe stall at market v. cheaply to add to my zero collection (you can take decluttering too far only have a pair of purple plimsolls at momen and a pair of walking boots so bought some slightly smarter ones for Confirmation tomorrow.
took kids to very beautiful local big park
lunch at McDonalds (no washingup)
bought 3 loaves of bread
bought some communion invites, and card for nephew and godson
lots and lots of fresh air and exercise

now to take dd with others to dentist

OFM god how frustrating. Presumably it is because she is well behaved at school that they won't do anything?

Off to Perth first thing tomorrow, ash allowing. Then Hexham

TM I wll vote later, tried, but couldn't understand where I actually voted. I am so bad at website stuff, got to final bit then lost my way completely.

wendyhappysmile · 06/05/2010 19:18

Hi all
Feeling chipper as been to work and was told how pleased they are with my work with the one to one kids and want me to work some more hours after I've finished.
Otherwise, been back to opticians, third time or is it fourth! in a month! But he is only 5 and will break them I guess! LOL
Going to visit a friend I have neglected since I was pregnant tonight, so I must be feeling slightly better, to have any energy past ten in the morning!
BB tomorrow

OverflowingMum · 06/05/2010 21:45

wendy you're sounding good this evening-yay! Little boys and glasses are indeed a terrible combination! DS 1 has had glasses since he was 5. Trips to the opticians used to be a weekly event forus LOL

scattyspice · 07/05/2010 07:44

So who's the Prime Minister then? Any one know (I'm ).

Busy weekend ahead.

Morning.
Have got into the habit of doing some work before sitting down to make a list.
Right I have a cuppa in front of me.
OFM I really feel for your DD I couldn't read very well and I remember clearly receiving a thick story book of short stories for 10 year old and being upset that at 10 I couldn't read it. I wrote out a long list of my experiences but it would only bore you as it related the the failures of teaching in the 1960's & 1970's The shocking thing, I think, I'm a very poor writer but, I write reports very day for 22 years without a spell checker How life pans out Hey!
Swan Hope you enjoyed the sun and the kids behaved.
Wendy Great news about work you must be very proud. What treat are you going to reward yourself with?
scatty It's going to be David Cameron isn't it! This depresses me as DH will be shouting at the telly & radio everytime he comes on Apparently he wants to punch him
Back in a mo with list.

Afternoon all - Been budy all day so no time to post.

DD has been to nursery for only the second time this week so I have had some time to myself which I spent doing the shopping - need to learn to relax. Decided today that I have had enough of the mess that is my dining room with DDs toys taking up a large porportion so I've been to argos and bought some stacking storage boxes and am currently sorting, throwing out and labeling boxes - she has enough bags to have a box just of them - takes after her mummy

Have also sorted out reading volunteer placement that has been dragging on for months

Should have wrote some book reviews but not got that far yet and friend is due round tonight to go through some uni work.

Must crack on or won't have got things sorted in time for tea

BBL

afternoon all

ruby Nnnnnnooooooooo more children doesn't work when they're all your own. No novelty value you see. Just lots more of them to make mess/create chaos/argue and fight LOL

Have been busy...again...sigh

Been to market this morning. Bought lots of nice fruit and veg and cheap comics fo dd's ( found a fab stall selling old issues at 2 for £1.50...yay LOL)

Also done:
Washing -lots!
Potted up tomatoes and peppers
gazed downheartedly at veg patch and lack of any signs of veg LOL.Noticed the lettuce seedlings which had germinated and were doing OK have completely vanished Little sign of anything else germinating...sigh
Reading with dd 3
Have also been working on some stuff for my sadly neglected business idea LOL
Researching processof applying for Statement for dd3, and have drafted letter to the school re her dismal lack of progress, and thier incompetence....

Dh has braved the cold grey day and taken 3 littlies to the playground...

still to do:
Plant seeds with dd4
dinner?????
walk dog
sort basket of clean washing
More washing rebooting

hmm think I need another cuppa first

BBL

OverflowingMum · 08/05/2010 17:12

aaarrrrggghhh Dh has returned with dc...and ds2 has just pulled all my tomato seedlings out of pot...aaarrrggghhh
have opened wine

Makingchanges · 08/05/2010 17:22

Afternoon all

DH crciket cancelled so had a family day today - which in our house means lots of arguing as DH grumpy as other teams have managed to play when his match was cancelled due to overnight rain.

DD been to dance class and then swimming. I have been to gym and then went in sauna, steam room and jacuzzi whilst DH took DD swimming - lunch at the gym and then a trip to Doncaster to watch a bit of a cricket match that was on. However DD fell asleep in car so I was left in car park with sleeping DD for an hour

Home to do some washing, tea and bath for DD as she refuses to go in the shower at swimming. However she seems to be under the weather since she woke up and is complaining that her tummy hurts - bit of a change from hyper all day

To do for me

  • 2 loads of washing
  • Tidy kitchen
  • Tidy lounge from toys that DD rescued during my toy cull in the dining room yesterday
  • Do some uni work
  • Put my feet up in front of saturday night tv

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. BBL

OverflowingMum · 09/05/2010 08:20

Morning all

MC weekends often end up in lots of arguing here too...still trying to find a way around this

I'm on the early shift today...sigh

Think I maybe possibly drank one too many glasses of wine last night , seem to have a bit of a headache LOL

Church in a bit...need to dress me and DS2...and clear breakfast chaos!

Feeling a bit fed up...can see more arguments with dh on the horizon...sigh..
Must attempt to motvate everyone out into some fresh air this afternoon...(gazes at worrying appearance of large greyclouds...sigh...)

right...off to get dressed...BBL

TeaMonster · 09/05/2010 11:18

TM have voted for you
ruby grrrrrr.

I abandoned attempts at trying to pursuade DC into fresh air. Trying to even agree on where to go turned out far too complex
So left them all to it and went out for hours walk through woods and around lake with the dog on my own. Very peaceful Dog enjoyed swimming and running through woods...feel in slightly better mood...

All off out tonight....dont really feel like it...hohum

bb tomorrow

swanriver · 09/05/2010 18:08

Back from the North, whizzing past you all by train. Northumberland is always stunningly beautiful, my only regret is I'm never there long enough to go for a proper walk or do any shopping in the scrumptilicioius Hexham, always catching up with my friend instead (which is how it should be)

Met some delightful teenagers of 15/16, (gives one hope that one's children will turn out well) went to two great restaurants one in Perth one in Hexham, and drove along the military road Hadrian's Wall, and got to read ALL the newspapers in the train on the way home! Missed the election on telly though. Dh has looked after kids in London, brilliantly, although unfortunately we managed to fall out slightly today The usual stuff...

Labour lost their seat in our constituency. I think the planes had a lot to do with it. Like your dh Nutty I think my dh is going to be ranting every time he sees Cameron on tv.
TM Ihave tried again to vote, but now drop down menu doesn't even appear, what am I doing wrong?
I have planted out the summer bedding which has been shreddedby slugs, cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom, and taken kids swimming.

scattyspice · 09/05/2010 18:13

Where you off to tonight OFM?

Have had a tricky weekend with Dad and stepmum. Has been a bit of a struggle as stepmum has advanced cancer and was not really up to much activity , also dad was pretty distant (probably the strain of their circumstances) and reluctant to engage much with DC, prefering to read the papers. I do understand but DD esp didn't and became more and more demanding in her attempts to gain his attention. Dh and I have spent the whole weekend trying to steer round trouble!

To do:
dd bath
sort uniforms, bookbags, pe kits, lib books and pack lunches
ds reading book

OP posts:
swanriver · 09/05/2010 23:33

Scatty sounds like you did a very good job of protecting your dad and your stepmum - I'm sure your dad really appreciates the fact that you will be there for him, and the grandchildren will be there too, as and when he feels ready.

I feel ridiculously lighthearted because my mum says she doesn't need her tenants' geraniums planted tomorrow - so have a bit of time to gather my wits after a fairly hectic weekend/week I'm glad I'm not in politics, don't quite think I could take the pace
Bedtime!
