Anybody NOT like their memory foam mattress?

DH & I bought a latex memory mattress from John Lewis before Christmas. In the shop it seemed really comfortable, the first night I slept on it was fantastic, but then I started waking in the night uncomfortable with lower back pain. Friends said not to worry, it takes a while to get used to memory foam, but 3 months later although I'm not waking in the night any more, in the mornings my lower back is very painful. Has anyone else had this experience? I've phoned John Lewis to ask for advice and they're sending somebody round to check that the mattress isn't faulty, but I doubt it is; I think it just doesn't suit me . Don't know what to do as we can't really afford to buy another mattress.

I bought my memory foam mattress from Wren. It is Described as an orthopaedic memory foam mattress. I love it as it doesn't have that sinking feeling you get when you try out the normal memory foam things in the store. Whilst I sink a little it keeps me relatively on top of the mattress. I don't get that complete dip that other memory foam mattresses get. It was a bargain at £299. I used to have to take pain killers every night just to get me to sleep. I wouldn't be without it.

We bought a memory foam mattress and had the same issue! Felt great at first but started to loose that feeling after a few weeks. This video seems to say that the memory foam can make you too hot:

Needless to say we are now looking for something without memory foam!
