However all seem in a good mood
vp x 1

homework completed ds1 at last minute
I am smartly dressed for work and eating breakfast

plates in sink and off I go to school again

have a good day everyone and as my old manager used to say, don't let the brs get you down

off to a film tonight with a friend I hope

Morning all and thanks for the thread wendy. Hi there swan.

Just bookmarking my place. I'll be back in a bit.

dylsmum1998 · 09/02/2010 09:37

morning wendy thanks for thread.

hi swan and simply.

I am determined to start eating breakfast properly in the mornings as i don't normally and then snack on crap. so last night i found in the recipe section on here you can make porrdige overnight in the slow cooker. so i made that before i went to bed- it was a disaster i woke up to the smell of burnt milk.
so i made some more on the hob, why do i always think i dont have time for this. while i made ds's lunch breakfast cooked. and i had a much better start to the morning for it, not as slow and sleepy as usual.

have done
phoned and chased up boiler man
folded dry washing
made ds and dd lunch
everybody had breakfast
dc to school

to do
mission
tidy
hoover-new rug will not stop fluffing
wash up
clean bathroom
tidy bedroom
strip my bed
remake bed
make dd's bed
take rubbish out
take recycling up the recycling bank
go to uni if boiler man gets here anytime soon

Good morning my wonderful FLy Friends

Wolf April OK'd with DH. Any weekend, you Wnedy and GO get together and sort nad I will drive up - I am over excited about it

Parents Evening update

Well what can I say, I have two very, very bright little boys. Lets start with mini.

He can count to over 100 and add in single figers. He can read!!!! He is also putting words together phonically and questioning spellings too. JAM, and Whi (Why. Behaviiour is getting better, he needs to be more challenged things are too easy for him. He is wonferful and sharing in group. Musically excelant, keeps beat and knows all the words to the songs. Loves responbilitiy like preparing snacks. He was even mentioned at a teaching conference last week by the ofstead watcher person.

Maxi - Genius status. Doing year 2 maths, understands 100, tens and units and adds in them and takes away in them. Can do times tables too.

Reading well and top of class for phonics and writing. The other children are in awe of his capabilities and love to watch him do numbers on the white board. He is a joy, never assumes, explains well and interacts way above his years. He gets excited when friends get star of the day and never craves attention, never plays up. Joy to teach. Teacher is going to discuss additional work for him. He is also very scientificall minded and explained to the class about ice being large in volume than water hence all the pot holes and also that salt melted ice nad also refraction - arhh

So I am totally head as big as a shed going on here. I am a very proud mummy

OverflowingMum · 09/02/2010 10:22

well, still feeling rough, bad nights sleep, kept waking up feeling as though I was choking on my tonsils LOL
Now exhausted and grim!

And to top it off dog seems to be having a False Pregnancy She has been really looking sad, growling whenever dc approach her bed (normally ds2 gets into bed with her and she loves it!), and has now adopted her squeeky plastic hamburger toy as her "puppy" She was carrying it everywhere, then licking it and crying ...trying to get it too feed etc... she is sooo sad, wandering round looking for her puppies and crying...
Need towait and see of it resolves over next week or so...or else trip to vets...

now have resorted to 20 mins citv while I havea cuppa and recover myself and plan...

oh and DD3 has her appointment for her Developmental Assessment tomorrow and Thurs. It is a two day assessment, with lots of professionals etc... and I will have to take DS2 and dd4 with me...quite stressed about all that ...worried about outcome etc...

anyway...ever onward and all that...

Tea good, glad Parents' Eve was happy for you, your school sounds great. My very bright DS isn't challenged at all but is happy in school so I can't complain too much.
OFM I had that part of the stomach bug too - like sore throat and flu - remember my obsessive knitting stitches in my sleep?! Apparently it's all part of the same bug.
dyls I can't function without proper breakfast. I have never skipped it all my adult life. My parents didn't eat breakfast and never gave me any
swan hope you have a good day despite the start!
Simply lovely to see you!

Well I have been productive. And I am still smiling! Only the bathroom to deep clean, Gym Joey and crafts to still do! But I did manage to drop DD's Playmobil hospital - you can't imagine how long that took to build! Have forewarned DH! LOL

x posts Hi Ruby, sorry to hear you are off work, hope DD better fully soon.

OP posts:
TeaMonster · 09/02/2010 12:02

Ruby I have just wtitten it all up!!

Wendy Maxi's teacher is amazing. 5 years qualified, second post (first was in a very, very rough area). She adores the children, doesnt have any of her own and gives 100% to each and every day. Maxi is challenging her, but she is more than up to it. I just hope the rest of the teachers are as good.

Mini's teacher is great too, she comes across as a battleaxe (old style teacher), but the children love her and once she opens up to you, she is just wonderful.

We are very lucky and I appreicate that.

OFM Sorry to rattle on, I hope I havnt upset you a nd that you get all the support you need with DD3. I dont want to come across as overly smug

swanriver · 09/02/2010 12:18

I've had a great morning in library
reception kids were delightful - felt v energised by it all

house smells very strange - that's all I'm going to say about the state of it
Wendy have not yet dropped our Playmobil Hospital but would quite like to..

Tea and so you should be proud
Dylsmum porridge - you can buy 1 min version, not to mention Readybrek (though that's a bit of a pricey way to eat porridge which must be the world's cheapest quality breakfast) I love it, just not the pot washing

Today's schedule
kids' sheets
hoovering
deep clean small part of house: tiles behind oven
put away veg box

usual jobs
make supper chicken, rice, veg, liquidize rest of tomato sauce from last night, make portion of cheat's paella for dh if time
tidy up a bit
pp
check e-mails

Wolfcub · 09/02/2010 12:39

Just nipping in to say hello

OverflowingMum · 09/02/2010 12:57

wendy yes, mustbepartof same bug then...I wokeup feeling awful dreaming about threading needles last night...thought of you as I fumbled for the paracetamol LOL

swan glad you had a lovely morning

TM of course you havent upset me! Youare right to be proud....
I am quite stressed about tomorrow though....but that is another matter all together LOL

dyls I think that soaking the oats in milk overnight makes the cooking quicker too if using ordinary(ie cheap!) oats....not that I am everor ganised enough to do that....
Like you though I just stick a pan on...do something else...give it a stir now and then and its fine...

right...have just rung up to check timetable for apps for dd...(someone was meant to ring but didnt )
and it seems that I will be there till well gone 3 on Thursday....so now need to find someone to collect kids from school aaarrrggghh absolutely no-one I can ask, DH cant take time off....no other local family, or friends in a position to help...
may actually just have to keep them all off school
Now also stressing about prospect of full day of apps and meetings with ds2 and dd4 in tow as well...
Tomorrow shorter thankfully, only 11.00 till 2.00, but 9.00 till around 4.00 on Thurs...

Really good that it is so thorough, and you get a meeting at the end to discus outcome without having t go back which is good...but just need to sort logstics...

aaarrrggghhh why aren't there more of me!!!

BBL after I have dosed with paracetamol and sort tomorrow out...

oh and dog still looking really sad....she will not appreciate being left on her own for so long either....

swanriver · 09/02/2010 13:19

OFM I really really feel for you on the logistics. Is there an Afterschool club you could wangle an emergency day for them at?

Dog sounds very sweet, and funny and sad too.
My passport saga was ages too you were not alone wth that one.

mking progress here, a bit..

swanriver · 09/02/2010 13:29

If I was very very brave, which I'm not, I would ring up the separate friends of the two older dds and say to them "I know it's short notice but I've just been told that dd3 has to go to appt after 3. Would it possible for ...to go for a playdate on Thursday, and we are delighted to have your dd on another day"
Anyway that's what all the mothers do round here, I am so cowardly I tie myself in knots over this, terrified of being refused..sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't..
people ask me for similar favours.

swanriver · 09/02/2010 13:31

strange dreams here too,
imagined I was swimming in a lake escaping from a ferocious swimming bear

swanriver · 09/02/2010 15:02

have put my back out, what with books and compost sacks v. tiresome, hope I can walk it off and that dd will not require carrying at any point this afternoon.

dylsmum1998 · 09/02/2010 15:38

afternoon all.

TM yay! on the good commnets on both ds's. you have every right to be a proud mummy

Swan hope your back is ok nothing to serious

WEndy at uyou never being given breakfast. I am very adament my children will eat breakfast- just a complete hypocrite i guess as i don't, but am determined to make more of an effort. ds has always eaten loads, but dd doesn't have such an appetite and never wants breakfast, she said the other day but you don't eat any mummy. so i need to get into good habits for her

boiler man came around 10.30, has made it so it will temp. work while i wait for the parts to come in, it needs new electronics board and new parts at the end of the the flu.

so i had a quick shower then went into uni, text from friend on way in to say they were having early lunch and to meet in the cafe. turns out the whole lecture was a farce, lecturer didnt turn up til 10, it was a 9 am start. then when she did arrive sent them for a 30 min break, did lecturing on nothing relevant sent on another break, lectured for 15 mins and sent them on early lunch
so everyone was very de-motivated and decided not ot go back. i wasnt going on my own so decided not to go in. went to lib instead to do some work and it was so busy there wasnt a free comp . so i went to collect the new camera i had reserved and have come home. sent off some work to be checked over by one of my tutors and am now contemplating going to collect dd.

need to
make my bed
make dd bed
tidy corner of bedroom
make dinner

ruby its okay for you to feel sad. I think as a parent (and as a human) you can't possibly not feel sad when any child, and especially a child which you know, passes away.

wendyhappysmile · 09/02/2010 19:31

Yes, wolf is right. We feel compassion for anyone who loses a child, whether we know them or not. Don't feel a fraud, just human. Lovely, compassionate, Ruby.
