morning swan

Woke up with a stonking migraine type headache...possibly too many lingering paint fumes inhaled overnight!

All still in our PJ's here...on my second coffee!

Has rained all night, and world is now free of snow, but VERY soggy...

DS1 dispateched on dog walking duty in the rain...good thing he loves rough and rugged...LOL

Lots to do...awaiting strike of motivation...any minute I will start...honest!

To do:
Dress littlies
Persuade older dd's to get dressed
Empty DW, clear breakfast chaos, reload DW
Laundry reboot
Clean washing away
Check directions for party - no idea how to get there...bit stressed!
Wrap present
Lunch
DD1 to party
Bake
Knitting with dd2

dinner- roast chicken

right, best get on
BBL

Are you running or just need to run? How are you doing your run stop start or 3-4miles in one go?
OFM Glad there is peace in you house again.
Parenting is tough I vowed I wouldn't put pressure on Little bear, I also hate DH being cross with him but DH is right just breaks my heart.

Hi Ruby Tell me more about DD tutor. Remind me how she is? Tell me more more more. Ds's writing & reading has slipped since changing schools. We love the school and they teach him fab stuff but he was doing so well with 10mins homework every night. I'm going to phone old school to remind me of the reading scheme so good in little 5 page books (can't remember the name)

OFM I don't know how you do it!!

swanriver · 16/01/2010 16:12

wow
were the dcs helping you - how did you get so much done? Is it just positve vibes that do the trick?
I was also going to ask how you managed to paint your bedroom too, with littlies in tow?

well things are calm at the moment, dh took tthe boys out on a walk again to buy some small component and give ds1 a haircut, but I managed to get cross with dd in so-called quiet time.
dh has solved problem by buying some v cheap canvases from pound shop (don't ask - something to do with an real easel BIL gave her for Xmas which we can't set up properly)

Did some piano practise though for 30 mins.
now need to tidy kitchen and put radio on.

scattyspice · 16/01/2010 16:16

Hi all.

Have been to town with dd (dh and ds to climbing wall). Lovely time choosing bedding for new beds (used M+S vouchers from Xmas so s all round). Slipped out after dinner to drop 2 crates of toys at Charity shop (feel a bit guilty ).

To do:
ironing
pack up stuff from DCs shelves
ds homework
dd words

So you think you can dance on later - loved it last week.

scattyspice · 16/01/2010 16:47

Also need to do:
empty recycling
hoover

wendyhappysmile · 16/01/2010 16:56

I have just bought new bedding too, Scatty. Unfortunately no vouchers here. Was ££ by my standards but got curtains, throwover and bedding, and cushion covers all Dorma and in 50% sale! Very happy, never had all matching stuff before!
Also got living room curtains and dining room curtains, blinds for kitchen, over fire mirror and other bits and pieces - ££ but house will start to look better (except dirty, must get on that!!)
Hey to all

TeaMonster · 16/01/2010 20:08

just checjing in, BBL

Starbear · 16/01/2010 20:46

Ruby Thank you for that, bad Grammer and spelling can really zap your confidence (well it has mine) I don't want Ds to feel the same. I think I'm quite bright until I try and express my self in writing, its a shame. (spell check still broken so you are reading the real me!)
OFM I now realise I'm too lazy and disorganised to have had more than one kid
Wolf How did the shopping trip go?
Now have have I done
recycling c/f
bagels for lunch DH did it
Shopping done
Buy ds's mates present & paper done

didn't make it on yesterday, was in uni all day, then went for a swim with friend. really boosted my confidnce my swimming not as bad a i thought we are going to make it a regular thing.
got home and found ds sitting in th dark- we had a power cut. felt awful i would have been home before him had i not gone for a swim, why is it when i decide i am GOING to have an hour a week to myself the first time i try somthing major happens and makes me feel bad for it
builder opposite had hit our power cable so we had no elec til gone midnight. i had fallen asleep on sofa under duvet with dc by the time it cam back on. i woke at 2.30 am and the lights were on so took us all off to bed.

slow start this mornig. took dc to outlet centre to got ds new clothes. usually hate shoppig for him he do fussy. first sho we went in got him his new trainers, a t shirt and a jumper, plus tshirt for dd all for the massive som of £21. was vry impressed esp. as it was the reebok shop. got lots of bargains for both ds and some bits for the kitchen.

come home and now trying to catch up with the washing. done som tidying, washing up all the things i couldnt do last night.

thnk this has turned into a very long all about me post so going to go.

swanriver · 16/01/2010 22:30

Starbear you can be lazy and have three! and sometimes smile
you don't sound lazy to me though or disorganised just busy, and very quick at things, including writing

now I, have been sitting at kitchen table, for quite some time, reading the Guardian and have not even cleared up supper.

Bedlinen all sounds crisp and lovely.
no new anything here, but I have reorganised the sheet cupboard.

goodnight everyone

swanriver · 16/01/2010 22:34

Dylsmum - I think you should be reassured that he can cope in "off" situation. He didn't light a candle or do anything dangerous, and it wasn't a fire, and I think 12 IS old enough to be able to sit in the house for an hour or so by yourself.
I keep leaving emergency torches in our house in useful places, but you have reminded me that I don't for the life of me know where any of them ARE. I think there's one hanging up in broom cupboard, must check for batteries.
Glad swim was good though, 'tis brave to go in this January season.

Bloggers for Haiti - can you help anything helps

wendyhappysmile · 17/01/2010 10:38

Yes bedding was crisp!
Dyls on elec cut - sure DS is well parented enough to cope and this is a good thing!

We had a child free day and night yesterday, went to a 60th birthday, which was good, but I drank too much and am only just coming round this morning! Yet to pick up kids.
DD was up on Fri night throwing up (which she does whenever she is really tired) but apparently she was fine yesterday, just tired and slept a lot.

Hope you all have a nice day.
swan your Guardian reading at the table sounds blissful. I should buy a newspaper more often.

BBL

dylsmum1998 · 17/01/2010 10:47

morning all,
swan and wndy you are both right, ds was fine about the power cut. he wasn't at all fussed when i got home, i just feel bad that i wasnt here.

wendy hope you enjoyed the night, its nice to get out and enjoy a drink or 2 sometimes

tm you are right it is such a horrific disaster, saw some really disturbing pics on the nws of children just sat staring at nothing so

done today
unload washer
sort dry washing
ironing
put sofa throws in machine
tidy
hoover
breakfast
wash up
s&s bathroom

need to get dressed now and make an early lunch as we are off for a swim in a bit. the children weren't too impressed when they found i had been without them so we are off for a family swim to placate them

Starbear · 17/01/2010 11:09

Morning all Dyls Mothers guilt is a annoying thing to have. We have to remember that if we are always there they will never learn to cope and that's bad too! Glad he is okay.
TM Thank you, we will give too. For the grace of.... you know the rest.
Swan Thank you sweetheart. Not very lazy this morning
Kitchen cleantidy
beds made
now for a shower and wrap presents
We are off bowling with new school friends lovely.
Have a good day everyone

Wolfcub · 17/01/2010 11:57

morning all star shopping trip was semi successful. Got a week's worth of really nice food for less than £40. Didn't manage to get any jeans but did get 1 bra, 1 top and a pack of knickers. Not very exciting at all really and doesn't solve my holey jeans problem.

I was up with ds super early this morning and he has beaten me black and blue but dp let me go back to bed for a couple of hours after 8am.

I have a challenge for you all. I want you to post before the end of the day to tell me what you have done to treat yourself. I have (in barely any time at all) exfoliated, moisturised, slapped on a foot mask and given my finger nails a base and top-coat.

I have had a very quick tidy up of living room and kitchen and a quick mop of the kitchen floor but dp and ds have made so much mess it may take me until bedtime to get it back to the state I left it in when I went to bed last night.

Wolfcub · 17/01/2010 13:27

I am now trapped under sleeping ds who has fallen and bashed his teeth and cut inside his mouth. I am probably going to get wee'd on while he sleeps.
