morning all

had a 10am start for school this morning. i drove ds in as the paths are so icy, once i got nearer to the school discovered the roads there are too. i don't like driving in the ice so was not impressed i told him i will pick him up tho as a concerned about him walking all th eway home in the ice.

feeling guilty as my nan phoned today I think she wanted me to give lift down to the shops in the village where she lives, i said no because it is bad enough here and her village is always loads worse. I do get cross tho (not with nan) but with my aunt, cousin and cousins husband they all live with her and could go down to pay the rent themselves to save her going out. instead I get the phonecall and left feeling guilty for saying no and also worrying now that she will try and walk down there herself

to do today
order repeat prescriptions
tidy
hoover
wash up
fold dry washing done
ironing
lunch?? might make a soup
dinner- fish and pasta so need to make the sauce
S&s bathroom
rubbish out done
mission

need to take the recycling to recycling bank but dont think dd and i will manage to get up the hill and back down again to it, so will have to wait til another day

star when do you have to complete your presentation for?

swan good luck with the maths

Gosh I'm a slow poster ...
grouchy gosh at school still shut
dyls annoying re cousins etc...
your poor Nan...still you can only do what you can...

swanriver · 11/01/2010 10:38

First batch of maths done
dw unloaded
dd's bed stripped and in washer

grr to cousins, you might crash if you do go there, so better not, hope she will listen to your reasons.

OFM - bad nights sleep here too, easy for thoughts to start whirling isn't

dylsmum1998 · 11/01/2010 10:47

My nan is fine about it, she asked how the roads etc are here and then mentioned that the rent needs paying. she would never ask me out right in this weather. but i still feel bad for not going iver

TeaMonster · 11/01/2010 11:05

I am an angry horrid person this morning. Mini had a fit as did not want to go out in the snow and rain, so Maxi late for school, me with a sore back and screaming like a fishwife.

Will things never change. I actually contemplted driving the 3 of us into a wall

Starbear · 11/01/2010 11:13

Taking a break from presentation. Zipping along.
dyls Glad you asked 20th. I have cracked on for 45mins. Will take a mini break & continue. I also feel for you re Nan could you give somebody a very quick call (pretend your just going out the door) ... could they pop into Nan's as a favour to you. They don't wait for a reply just say 'byeee'
I need to call my Sister & see if she could help out with childcare as I haven't shown Mum the new school, (the pavement too icy for her) or fixed after school club. Snow is okay if you've got nothing to do!!! back at work tomorrow
Swan &OFM had to resort to radio & 4 to get to sleep!!!
Well I'm going to phone after school club lady, Mum and Sis. Then continue my work.. C ya l8ter. (I bet I've done that wrong)

OP posts:
Starbear · 11/01/2010 11:16

TM No,...deep breaths, count to 10 and say I'm not in Afghanistan or Somalia' works for me A bit of 'fishwife' shouting is good for kids I'm sure.... You should see my 'I'm going to kill you look'

OP posts:
swanriver · 11/01/2010 11:29

Just remember if he's late for school it is not the end of the world. That was my lightbulb moment after years of shouting at kids because we were late. Now I'd rather we were five mins late and not all crying than bang on time and feeling blue.

Lovely calm morning here so far
swept path of pine needles etc
put out more recycling
have sorted some paperwork and thrown away things and filed things
Back to Maths now

grouchyoscar · 11/01/2010 11:40

OF I'm rather miffed at the school clousure too. I'm starting to ask 'did I hear that right' bad forecast for later so they all want to make sure they can get home

Hung up a load of washing to dry and rebooted the washer. loaded and emptied and loaded/run WM

Going to do some educational stuff with Ed after lunch

Starbear · 11/01/2010 11:54

Okay, made appointment with After school club lady have to be at school at 3pm. Phoned Sis but she is snowed in. She suggested brother as it's his day off tomorrow but, he really is unreliable! Luckily, I phoned 'Lovely Mum', she going to come over today, she says the pavements are not that bad. I think she's jumped at the chance of getting out of the house. She is going to stay the night. I should have thought of this yesterday when I had the car. daft banana me! I'll met her at the bus stop.TM I'm the reverse of the relationship with your Mum. I think I'm the over demanding nasty one. Must give Mum a huge treat like sorting out her shed problem. Really need to sort out emergency local payment childcare, haven't got any Mum friends at the new school. Miss old school even though we were only there for three months. I think I'm rambling now to avoid work. Right make a cup of tea and continue presentation on page 6 now.

OP posts:
Starbear · 11/01/2010 12:52

Okay, another hour has passed and I'm only on page 10 no housework today. Tea break

OP posts:
dylsmum1998 · 11/01/2010 13:14

star do you have a set amount of pages to do?
in the past hour you have managed 4 pages, thats not bad going

I have managed to do all of my list other than make the suace for dinner- will do soon and phone docws for repeats. It took me til 12.20 to get through by which time they were on emergency calls only so I have to phone back this afternoon after 2pm

have also built the wooden castle for dd she loves it, but I don't it takes up all the spare space in the living room and takes forever to build . i bought it for ds when he was 4, you'd think i knew how to build it by now wouldn't you

just realised I havent done all my list, still need to wash up so off to sort that all now

Starbear · 11/01/2010 13:19

No, I working on another report as a template to help me put my thoughts on paper. 21 pages in all. tea break now back to the grind stone. Not good at this sort of stuff. DH does it all the time.

OP posts:
swanriver · 11/01/2010 13:31

Dylsmum - yes castles
Starbear - you are doing brilliantly

Have taken ds for long walk in fresh air, and done week's shopping as per menu plan still a bit too heavy for my liking - need your trolley Star - just can't face anything extra in hall till whchr is taken back..

lunch - I am completely starving always a good sign diet wise

OverflowingMum · 11/01/2010 13:45

TM deep breaths. I too have mornings like that. swan is very right though. Alsotook me a looong time to realise that the world didn't end if we were late for school. Now when things strt going wrong in the morning I try to take a deep breath, and tell myself we will just have to be a few minutes late...(normally end up on time anyway LOL)..
Sometimes much easier said than done though I grant you...
Hope you're now having a sit down and a cuppa

star keep at it...you'll get there. Glad your Mum is being a star. I'm sure you'll soon love the new school once you and little bear have made friends.

gofingers crossed for school open tomorrow!

dyls ringing Drs is a PITA! well done on rest of list though!

Well my main achievement so far is sorting GMC stuff. Should be straight forward. Hopefully wont matter I havent worked in long time...
Only slight snag is it is going to cost me £710 to re-register Will need to look into temp loan from affluent family member as long term investment....ho-hum

Now having much needed cuppa...
Dinner not done, may become sausage veg and mash...

Next need to go look at some childcare options/figures...whilst ds is napping and I can hear myself think LOL

Starbear · 11/01/2010 13:52

I've used the 'man on the Clapham omnibus' line. Which I'm not sure about, as I'm sure Clapham is now full of unreasonable people

OP posts:
TeaMonster · 11/01/2010 14:31

Afternoon, I was going to do some sewing to calm down, but snapped 3 needles and then ran out of white thread

OFM I need sewing machine deatils to cheer me up lady

OP posts:
dylsmum1998 · 11/01/2010 14:50
