Before I start my list Wolf I wore that style of dress as a bridesmaid. Spent longer than the bride looking for it as I didn't want to spend a huge amount of money. I found it in a little rental shop in Croydon in the market! Ask everyone you know if they know a good dressmaker. I think its a great style.

First on the list is to turn back into Starbear
Right here goes DH has been taking care of the house for the past 5 days. Don't think he was flying, so tons to do. He did wash everything in the huge wash basket. Sooo I might have to go shopping for new clothes for all three of us he didn't check pockets or knows how various things need to be washed but I have not said a thing otherwise he won't do it again!
Okay cheating today Ds is watching Telly. Still have that cold and didn't sleep why I don't know!!!
Going to have a shower and come back!

dylsmum1998 · 04/01/2010 09:01

morning all,
not been on here for a while- remember me??
january again so am starting the new year as usual will get on top of housework, and get fit
so thought i would start on the first one today.

making me a little list to get me started
tidy
hoover
s&S bathroom
iron
send ds to schoool
wake dd
a little zone clean

have made a start on the ironing. i have no excuse really for not doing housework this morning as we are housebound whilst waiting for the gas engineer to (hopefully) finally fix my boiler. we have had no heating or hot water since 18th december.

swanriver · 04/01/2010 09:13

Hello Dylsmum, of course I remember you - how has the course been and everything?
How did you manage without any heating hw for so long I've done the no htng lark but to live without hw -impossible.

Starbear - think your ds needs a lazy day so that school seems fun
I'm back on my weight losing plan - basically normal meals but no snacks [replace with apples, tea or watered hot choc) and no alcohol. It WAS hard last time but I did lose 2 kilos. Now I've put 1 kilo on again [sigh - xmas] but know it works so starting from this breakfast muesli - no snacks till lunch.

I've taken dcs to school over frozen siberian wastes with labelled waterbottles library books and PE kits. couldn't find ds2's original PE bag but managed to find replacement items in overflowing drawers.

Now coffee,
wake up ds1 and start morning's work with him.
And rescue playroom
what's for dinner - lasagne

So today the list goes roughly like this.
have breakfast
Ds washed and dressed
make beds
Put Decorations away
Plan lunch and dinner??????
shopping for food (we have eaten all the leftovers now)
recycle as we have a paper mountain!
Make a list for this week so its not wasted
This evening sew labels on new uniform.
on-line food shopping for Friday

ShannaraTiger · 04/01/2010 10:02

Morning all

Dd and ds successfully delivererd to school and playschool with assorted packed lunches, bookbags, wellington boots etc. TeaMonster glad I wasn't the only one shouting like a fishwife!

Walked through the front door and the total devastation really struck me! My 10 minute cup of tea break/ sanity restorer is nearly up so To do:

Christmas decorations take down and put away
Childrens bedroom sort out so new toys have an actual home - not the floor.
(Reminder Dp has day off wednesday part of which he will be spending taking sorted out toys to the dump / charity shop!!)

Think I will leave it at that as otherwise I get very depressed when I don't achieve all my to do lists.

We won't mention that I haven't actualy doen my morning routine yet or that I flooded the kitchen floor (filling up the sink to wash teh grill pan - epilepsy stricks again!!)last night and so hav a w/m full of wet towels to sort out first

Have a good morning everyone

dylsmum1998 · 04/01/2010 10:05

ah thanks ladies. i haven't been doing anything interewsting. just finding time very hard to find this school year. I am going to try and at least fly for 2 days a week though.

Swan course is going ok. but its this term that is going to be the killer have 20000 words in total to do as well as carry out my research project. so going to be very busy. no HW has been very hard. have been visiting diff friends/family for showers and boiling kettle constantly to wash up etc.
we went to stay at my sisters last week so that was much easier

Star love the sound of your lazy day

Wolf- are you getting married?

have done the ironing, i really need to wake dd up but dont want to, she must be shattere to still be sleeping. mind you she didnt go off til half 11 last night

Makingchanges · 04/01/2010 10:29

Morning all.

Have to get back flying and back to normal as the christmas chaos in the house is really annoying me now. Hope everyone is well, sounds like we are all making a great start to the new year. I too am trying to get back to the fitness thing, did manage 5 trips to the gym in the last 8 days, however also managed to eat some unhealthy meals there (they taste fab but aren't exactly good for you) and looking at the list of things I have to do through this week, I'll be lucky to get back there at all until the weekend.

I'm going to try to cut down on the bread (my hugh downfall) and cut out alcohol again, not too bad but have had quite a bit over chirstmas and I'm going to get some of my weightwatchers receipe books out and get focused back on that again since I pay for it I might as well work at it.

Anyway DD nursery closed today - not sure why as rest of school open. Maybe new January intake settling day. So far we have had breakfast but not made it out of PJ's

To Do

Take christmas tree and dec down, box up and put in loft
Make breadcake as have no bread and although not much snow here my drive is like a skating rink
Make WW Spag Bol for tea.
Whats for lunch - No idea yet cos need to try and not do sandwiches
Sort out paperwork mountain on kitchen side and pay some bills
Finish off the assignment that I have been writing since NYD
Find Nursery uniform - I washed in last day of term but not seen it since
Loads and loads of washing

That will do for now. I have loads more but I think the tree may take a while with DD 'helping'

lost message
but found PE kit in dressing up box

if you are like me Ruby you would stuff PE in the most obvious place to "tidy up" or if you are like me you will put them somewhere which makes intellectual sense at time - but not necessarily an obvious place just a clever organized sort of place.
decluttered old shoes in hall
decluttered M & S cat which had o/s valance
ds1 ready to roll

Hi MC [good luck with paperwork - such a weight off one' brain] and Grouchy well done on hoovering and sliding

Starbear · 04/01/2010 11:03

makingchanges So impressed that you've gone to the gym 8 times. I make it 8 times in a year!!!!
Shannara It's so annoying for things to go wrong when you are working hard at making it right! Hope you have time for yourself today.
Swan PE kit in dressing up box Why?
Ds is calling me, I think its me as he is calling Dad!!!

dylsmum1998 · 04/01/2010 11:37

Shanna sorry crossed posts with you earlier i type so slow. hope you are feeling a little less stressed now

i hate the first day back at school after the holidays, so pleased ds takes himself now. did feel mean making him walk as its so cold outside but i needed to wait in didnt want to miss the boiler man- who still isnt here

i decided to leave dd asleep til i had finished my list. she woke up by herself about 30 mins ago. just discovered she wet the bed last night at some stage so have stripped t off now need to sort it all out. did need to strip the beds today anyway.

dd is sat eating her weetabix now. I'm going to sort her bed then wipe out the oven

swanriver · 04/01/2010 12:10

Done ds1 literacy exercises (v. trying experience - he hates writing stories of any kind)
Now we are off to public library to return some books and go for a walk

swanriver · 04/01/2010 12:11

Starbear - it was in the dressing up box because at the time it must have seemed like a good place to hide it from visitors

scattyspice · 04/01/2010 12:35

Morning all . Great to see you back Dyl (hugely impressed by your hardiness), Oh no better go (at work). BBL

Jas · 04/01/2010 12:41

Hello

I am back (again).....DP is working, and I am doing 15 minute bursts round the whole house.

Dyls - much sympathy re no hot water....we are similar. Ours works in the middle of the night, but not during the day I've been approved for a grant to get it fixed, but we will have to wait who-knows-how -long.
I am taking the children swimming so we can use their showers

I am also restricted re mumsnetting, as my computer died and I am using dds, so I can't be on in the evenings any more.

My timer is about to ring again, so I will go do another hour, and come back before the nursery run.
