Hi girls

Just off to yoga now. Not sure what we're up to today. Local lights switch on (I mean very local, sleepy small town we live in) today may or may not attend. Body shop party tonight (not really looking forward to it, would rather watch X factor!).

I have never ever watched x-factor - really sad, but I have far better things to be doing with my time!!!

swanriver · 28/11/2009 10:55

nor us TM - although not sure about the better things

I have talked to no less than 3 septugenarian relatives this mornng on phone
Dts have departed for music, dh spitting with rage over the general dithering and the phonecalls. I hope he gets a nice chat with some other disgruntled dads there, or better still some yummy mums - I think all he needs is someone to invite him to the pub

Now have to work out what's for lunch - potato bake I think, and something involving carrots and parsnips and old pieces of cheese.

First cup of coffee of day needed here and a large scrubbing brush.

Have done it again, it wont let me link pants poo and all that - so this is what I meant

wendyhappysmile · 28/11/2009 12:12

TM Well, we all have different ideas of how to spend our time! Personally, I love feel good trashy TV once a week.
swan your lunch sounds yummy!
yoga was good, calm lasted about two minutes though, once I got home. DC both bored and stuck inside because of the rain. Both DH and I have no desire to go out in the crowds to somewhere crowded today.

I'm with you Wendy on the telly choices. If its not X factor it must be I'm a celeb .

I made the mistake of asking DC what they wanted to do today. They said Roller Disco . So we've had a happy hour crashing around to Lilly Allen followed by hot dogs .

scattyspice · 28/11/2009 12:21

Oh yes - well done on making it too (and from) last nights confirmation Swan. I'm sure your efforts were appreciated .

swanriver · 28/11/2009 14:30

Had a v. trying morning with ds1, who is now BORED with a capital B. Hopefully better after an outing. Delicious lunch though, my potato bake was gobbled up by everyone.
Now have to go and pick up wheelchair, more blooming route planning
Ds2 has a friend round and dd is in a strop so poor dh is trying to get her to play a board game with ds1 (who has now perfected the Janice laugh from Friends, and keeps trying it out to amuse us

wendyhappysmile · 28/11/2009 15:43

My medium told me to write several times. I have spent two hours writing! I feel quite calm now. We'll see if it's just a fad. anyway, what i've written may be rubbish!

HELLO ALL

I am in extreme discomfort and pain today It feels like Boris is giving me Chinese burns down my legs My FLY DONE list is

DONE

I'm assigned to bed, full of pills and realising 20 hrs on my feet will need paying for

Ed enjoyed his Gang Show was lovely and had to be woken up at 10:30 to be carried off the bus (awwwh sweetums bus there must be a scout leader who is a hod carrier )

Yesterday I cobbled together a Wise Man costume for the Nativity to find out he only needs a crown I've done robes and beads and a hat! ah well, I'll stick cracker crowns to it . He can be a shepherd in a teatowel headcarf if they don't like it Plu they would like him to learn 3 xmas tune on the keyboard! Why did I think Scouting was for him?

I will get shut of this wobblyness and be back to annoy tomorrow

Starbear · 28/11/2009 16:43

Evening all DH is a totally mystery to me. He now can't decided if little bear should stay in present school or go to desired school. He couldn't sleep for worrying about it last night!!!We had a huge upset (row isn't the right word) when the results came out in June. So much so that I worked all the following day finding a solution. HE WAS THE one who insisted that we appealed at the council re Little bears place. He told everyone to the point that they wrote letters on his behalf! Mum my didn't know how lucky she was when she had a husband that didn't care
Have left my new large Le Creuset pot at church. I hope it is still there when DH goes tomorrow. Have had an odd day hope The Ball will cheer us up. Hope DH doesn't get drunk!

OverflowingFestiveMum · 28/11/2009 16:54

aftaernoon all

today has gone ok so far....with a few blips LOL

bad start to the day when dds 1 and2 returned from walking the dog on the hill behind our house and announced that had eaten a dead mouse .... rang vets who just said to keep an eye on her....anyway she seems fine...obviously made of strong stuff LOL

Managed to put away HUGE washing mountain yay!

Then to Christmas fair at a Church nearby...was absolutely PACKED...could hardly move....all the stalls seemed to be run by grumpy 90 yr old ladies who hated children DD3 got told off for leaning on the cake stall ,and then for picking up a necklace to look at it...then DD4 had a tantrum and one old biddy commented "look at that naughty girl" to which the next old biddy replied "yes isnt she naughty" obvioulsy dd is the first child in the world to have a tantrum...(and it was all because I wouldnt but her a ridiculously overpriced half coloured in colouring book that they wanted £2 for...)so that was our que to come home...lol.Glad we dont go to that Church...dont think we would feel very welcomed LOL

Had nice hot choc at home and mince pies...then looked at some of the books we managed to buybefore abandoning fair...

DH home now...and all seems suddenly more stressful

have a few bits to sort out now..but planning a very early night as I was up a lot with dd3 and ds2 in the night, both with shocking coughs...

BB tomorrow

OverflowingFestiveMum · 28/11/2009 17:02

star forgot to say yesterday butI agree that moving ds now would seem the sensible choice. We moved DS1 at a similar age/satge andatthetime we AGONISED over the decision...were sure he would be devastated to leave his school/friends etc..but in the end he was totally fine....settled into the new school no trouble, hardly mentioned his old school or friends after about 2 weeks...LOL
On the other hand we did then move him at the end of KS1 (due to house move...all V complicated...LOL)and he found that move much harder...did miss his old friends and school a lot...so given the choice now would seem a better time to move your DS...especially if he is then in your preferred school where he can stay till secondary school...

scattyspice · 28/11/2009 17:27

Church fair sounds horrible OFM.

Poor you and dh Star, I hate those sorts of dilemas. If possible, don't rush to make a decision.

Sympathies Grouchy. Take it easy.

Poor DS1 Swan, is he missing his friends.

Have been out for cold walk via the comic shop and park. Lovely almost sunset. Slightly marred by DD (darling diva) whining continuously (TSK).

I have told DH that I'm on the wagon until Xmas. DD asked if she could come on the wagon too LOL.

swanriver · 28/11/2009 18:34

Scatty, that is so sweet, and after all children survive life happily enough without alcohol don't they...they are a lesson to us.
I've been for several bracing walks today, not very scenic though. One was along the dual carriageway
I've booked some friends to visit him next week, and he is going to Scouts tomorrow for rehearsal.
Picked up new wheelchair, which is not as good as the old one, but has two tyres at least and brakes.
Concert tonight at music school, dd is looking very smart in black and white outfit.
Now we are watching Merlin.

Starbear, think about dilemma as much as possible, weighing up every possible pro and con, and then suddenly all will become clear.
Have a fantastic time dancing till dawn!

swanriver · 28/11/2009 18:46

Wendy, keep writing. Did you write when you were younger?

swanriver · 29/11/2009 08:56

Where are all the fliers this morning?
Relaxing I hope.

Dh is having a well-earned lie-in. All seems calm now due to Thunderbirds/HSM doublebill but the day started with dd having a hideous tantrum (that child NEEDS her sleep).
She went to bed at 10.30 (concert) and woke at 8.00 so it does not bode well for today
Two wet cats are just drying out, kitchen has that usual grimy look that it gets when no-one[me) does any late night tidying - I think the cats were trying to do a TopCat impression with the foodcompost and have scattered lambchop bones everywhere [yuk)

So today.
It is raining.
I am taking dcs to church.
will return in more hopeful frame of mind.

TeaMonster · 29/11/2009 09:01

I am lurking, feeling sad, as MaxiMad spent the night with Grandma dna me and MiniMad are pineing for him.

MadDad is in bed, not feeling well at all. Poor mite

swanriver · 29/11/2009 09:09

That is exciting for him though!
Helloo fellow blue lurker and hope MadDad gets a bit of a rest while MaxMd is away.

It is sooo dismal outside.
Starbear, hope you haven't got a hangover, and are still capable of singing and dancing the rain.

scattyspice · 29/11/2009 09:15

Morning .

That must feel strange Tea. Its a great thing to do, we loved having sleepovers at grandparents and aunties when little. Our relatives live too far away unfortunately.

Sounds like a busy morning already Swan! Was the concert nice? Children singing always make me cry .

Today:
swimming
dc homework
ironing
banking
load photos onto memory stick for ILs digital photo frame (edit carefully to insure only flattering pictures are displayed).
order flowers for Grans 100th birthday!!
laundry
robots

wendyhappysmile · 29/11/2009 10:26

Morning all
I am achey today (but nothing like you, Grouch, hope you're feeling better today) from yoga yesterday, it was a different teacher. Had a very spicy curry last night so sort of feeling parched from that, too! managed to spend £20 at Body Shop party despite insisting before I went I was only going to buy foundation, which I need - free gift offer if you bought two items of makeup sucked me in. Oh well! i hate these party plans, but all my friends have them atm, so I have to go!
Off to my parents for tea tonight, doesn't happen often so will be nice. I'm going to be on my best non combative, tolerant behaviour
Otherwise, think it's Xmas painting - making cards with DC, and watching Strictly which i missed last night.
Have a good day, everyone, BBL

Wendy - sounds quite restrained to me. I love make up .

OFM - very wet here too.

Back from swimming. Ds has lit the first fire of the year. Life doesn't get much better than this .
