TheMadHouse · 28/06/2009 10:23

We are off to see The Wiggles, we are all very excited.

The washing expidition is still ongoing. Dryer mountain currenly has snow on the top as it is high altitude

about 4 loads of washing to go!!!!!

DS2 is being a naughty monster and refusing to eat - again

I am going to be a stern mummy going forward

Starbear · 28/06/2009 10:27

Morning all.
Asked friend over yesterday as we were both rugby widows. Let the boys play with water but the £3.00 water pistols were a total let down. Planned a BBQ but at that moment the sky opened up and we had to put the grill on. Brought Ds's new uniform. Not keen on it as it's jogging bottoms, polo shirt & sweatshirt. Didn't pick the school for the uniform so hey!
Wolfcub We had a party at a rowing club. My only tip, PAY for a photographer I have no really nice photos of us, friend & family don't make the same mistake.
Will return with list.

Starbear · 28/06/2009 10:39

Morning again ALL Knickers I'm in Batley, not far from Wendy and Wolf where are you?

Seems the local 'Littleset Hobo' has turned up in the yard. This cat lived on the road to the bus stop, then adopted a family on the run to school and was on the yard today. If our old mog (and DH!)will accept her, I think we'll take her in

Well my DONE list is

Make bed
Water plants
Load WM and run
Wash up breakfast things
Tidy the front room

I have to tackle the ironing pile (bah) do some online financial stuff and general potterring today.

Hope these clouds burn off and we get some sun today. Hope you all have great days

galen · 28/06/2009 11:33

morning all
Only just catching up with wk/end thread.
Busy day yesterday...dd1 and 2 singing in a concert in the morning - was fab and they loved it home via bakers for treats for all, then lunch followed by a nice relaxed afternoon, playing in the garden followed by watching the sound of music. All quite girly and peaceful - DS1 is on scout camp which mayexplain that!
slow start today, DD4 not seeming too well, and dd3 in foul mood, so DH took DD1 and 2 to church and I stayed behind with the stropping litllies!
Need to catch up on some washing and general tidying, look at calendar and plannext week as much as possible to avoid chaos whilst solo flying! Have 2 sports days, and a rounders tournament to fit in next week aswell, then summer fayre next Sunday...could be a LONG week
DH is quite down understandably. It must be awful going off to visit your dad knowing that is probably the last time you'll ever see them So he needs some extra tlc too...
right best go and be useful before Dh gets back

BBL

gibbberish · 28/06/2009 11:42

Morning morning!

star had a lovely day without dh yesterday. Except he and bil got completely plastered and I got a phone call at 2am asking if I could pick him up from bil's house!!! I politely refused and went back to sleep. Had to pick him up this morning. He is suitably suffering

tmh glad you had a fab holiday. Enjoy the Wiggles (whatever they are - sounds slightly uncomfortable...)

It's a miracle!!! The fish are swimming around this morning in perfect fishy manner! I chucked some stuff in the water before I went to bed last night. It is meant to restore the ph balance in the water and remove the nitrates etc (hark at me sounding all fishy-expertish). And it appears to have worked! Even Nemo (who was the worst) is racing around the tank again like a loony. So relieved! Let's hope it lasts...

Having another lazy day today (am getting into the swing of it!). Have bought stuff for a roast and have told dh he is to make it by way of punishment for waking me up at 2am.

Starbear · 28/06/2009 11:44

galen Oh! to have talented kids. Singing is such fun (sadly the Starbear family sing badly but we just don't care)
grouchy You are so kind to take in a little cat. Ironing in the heat yukky!
Right before boys get back from church.
Done so far
beds changed
plants watered
Sheets in W/M

Knickers0nMaHead · 28/06/2009 11:46

grouchy, im just up the road from Horbury, in Netherton. Not much of a list today. Check cases, pack handluggage. Sleep

Starbear · 28/06/2009 11:51

gibbberish You salsa too! Glad the fish are happy

grouchyoscar · 28/06/2009 11:51

Star DH has said NO to taking her in but I'll keep an eye out for her and check she's OK

Galen I can't carry a tune in a bucket with both hands! Ed has a good voice but it's not from me!

Right, lets get this ironing done

gibbberish · 28/06/2009 11:52

star haven't been for a while cos do tap dancing now! But absolutely loved it and am looking around for another class atm.

Tap is an amazingly good workout. Brill fun.

Knickers0nMaHead · 28/06/2009 11:59

is salsa any good? Was thinking of going to join up but not sure.

wendyredkitchenredspots · 28/06/2009 12:16

Back from swimming. DS really getting confident. I need to arrange swimming lessons - for me as I can't swim !! A friend gave me the name of a teacher about 10 miles away so may go for it (am very scared at aged 35 learning to swim!)
Have got the laptop out hence I am being a good Flyfriend! swan it's only a week since I was properly on here but it seems ages to me too!
Hurrah for healthy fish!!
Right I am back on the Flywagon tomorrow, going to do my homeblessing for once. My mum phoned late on Thurs night to say she was bring my two aunties (who we never see, despite living not far away) for lunch at my house. It only took me an hour to sweep, dust and tidy up so the flying must still be going ok really! And it was lovely to see them and for them to see the children - who they haven't seen for 18 months.
Right off we go get stuff done!

grouchyoscar · 28/06/2009 13:06

Wendy Kirklees Council are running some adult swimming classes. There are loads of mums who can't swim so it's giving them the opportunity. I can get some info if you want. Just signed Ed up for a 12 wk beginners course. He's water confident soit's time to move from doggy paddle to proper strokes

I HAVE DONE THE IRONING!!!!! Not too bad, did it listening to I'm sorry I haven't a clue. Uniform clean and out for morning and PE kit packed. Also emptied DW, put away and Emptied WM

Better do something with Ed so I'll say bye for now

SimplyIsATalentedBuzzard · 28/06/2009 13:41

Hello to all. I've read through the thread but it has moved on so much since yesterday morning that I'll just to everyone instead of doing individual messages.

We've done two trips to the recycling centre and have done more small trips to the charity shop as well.

Done:-
~ order bed and mattress

To do list:-
~ order new bed linen
~ start decluttering the spare bedroom
~ holiday planning
~ ring dsis re: furniture
~ ring local furniture recycling place

Oh, dear. It looks like I've got quite a bit left to do! Now that I've finished my lunch and had a coffee, I'd best crack on. Dh is now away so it's down to me and the kids to finish moving furniture. They did a great job yest of sorting out their old toys in the garage, fair play to them.

Storm damage Prof? Did you get struck?

Set up water slide and it started to rain! So we stopped for lunch.

SimplyIsATalentedBuzzard · 28/06/2009 15:53

Back on for a bit of motivation. I need to keep going with moving furniture and decluttering.

Tort It's raining here too, now. I managed to cut a few pieces of bramble, ivy and some horrible stuff before it started to rain, though.

Wolfcub · 28/06/2009 17:19

Wolfcub · 28/06/2009 18:50

mad danby and simonstone look like real finds - wonder if they can cater to our tiny budget - will call and investigate

TheMadHouse · 28/06/2009 20:04

Prof I was a nervous wreck after last years adventure. It was FAB - will post pic on facebook later - the boys loved it. Cant recomend it enough

Still on with the washing and drying - pah

Will come back and update and read after my bath

wendyredkitchenredspots · 28/06/2009 20:35

Hiya again
and at storm damage Prof Last year we lost our wifi modem, video player (no loss really!) and telephone to storms!! I try to run around unplugging now too.
Too hot today.
Done lots in garden - strung up the tomatoes to the ceiling - well with FIL's help. Planted loads into pots from their small pots - tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes etc. Greenhouse is all sorted. Made tea for in laws and us - yummy caramelised onion tart and treacle sponge - feeling a bit bloated now!
Need to paint in DD's new bedroom - DH is on with skirting now and FIL has fitted a new socket in the wall.
Have done first round of clearing up - now off for second lot and tidy round. Bath and bed.
See you tomorrow

swanriver · 28/06/2009 21:53

Not much to report, except lots of swimming (only 10 lengths today with dd stalking me)and eating

Grouchy, We have the Lost Boys, or is it the Lost Girls in our garden - no less than three young female cats who are owned by two different rather "carefree"neighbours but seem to prefer it here, and turn up for breakfast every morning. Luckily one has just been spayed but one has had kittens (which we haven't seen yet but are busy fnding homes for!), and the other is pregnant! Our cat (young male)is in heaven, and spends hours with them. They have formed a cat colony and dh is getting rather exasperated. Hope your dh falls in love with stray soon.

Wendy, I have three friends who can't swim. One is just taking lessons aged 40, which is a real breakthrough for her - she was very scared of putting her face in the water. We grew up next to a lake so we always swam - we were lucky, I never realised till now...

No progress on room moving
but loads of laundry and
went to Tescos to dent week's shopping (mostly lunchbox stuff)
