Maggie I think it does because DS1 and DS2 never got them. DD's seem to get them fairly often. Not something that worries me though. I know some people are repulsed by them lol.

swanriver · 23/06/2009 13:40

not so sure about that ho hum...
the thrill wears off without one's little companions in tow
and they are an EXCELLENT EXCUSE for coffee with friends..
haven't done that for a while

swanriver · 23/06/2009 13:43

oh x-post Tort. replying to MT.
not referrng to worms...

dylsmum1998 · 23/06/2009 13:44

maggie i have that water toy, shae we have no garden to put it in, i forgot i had it til you posted, wonder if i put it on kitchen floor it wouldnt make too much mess .
may try that once i collect dd from nursery

have been for my swim not as horrendous as i had thought, although as i suspected i can barely swim anymore (not an exagreation!!). ds swims better than i do . maybe i'll try and find time each week for me to go on my own and i may get better i only managed to do 10 lengths and that was really pushing myself as well, i refused to get out the pool until i had managed it

MaggieTulliver · 23/06/2009 13:54

Agree swan but it is a novelty as dd hasnt napped in ages.....

Tort - confess to being a teensy bit squeamish. dh is under orders to deal with any headlice or worms.

I have just ordered a new mattress for DD1 as noticed a spring sticking out of hers the other day While i was shopping I noticed 3 littlest petshop sets for £10 so ordered 6 for DDs friends birtdhays. Thought that was bargain.

MaggieTulliver · 23/06/2009 13:55

dylsmum - mine use the water thing on the dining room table if it is rainy (but i have wooden floor so easy to mop up splashes - would be banned if i had carpet there)

grouchyoscar · 23/06/2009 14:04

Wolf I look forwards to seeing you at the Grouchy Hovel

Occupational Hazard for dinnerladies - Getting knocked off your feet by 5yr olds on scooters

swanriver · 23/06/2009 14:08

Swept encrusted terrace and moved all obstacles off it

Dylsmum, I only managed 4 lengths first time, and am now only up to 18 or 20 (need to go again SOON) I added on two more lengths every time I went.
You will find yourself feelng strangely invigorated afterwards although I did crick my neck frst visit by not breathing properly.

Now mowing. (and have hung out some more washing too)

Wolfcub · 23/06/2009 14:27

Walked ds to post box up the hill and back - somehow he is now in a worse mood, just punched me in the eye and kicked 7 bells out of my kidneys. Am letting him watch cbeebies to save further injuries

hello all Happy Birthday Galen!
just grabbing 5 minutes - having a strange sort of day. DD and DS running around rudey nudey (as they call it) - OK but downside was DD having a poo on the rug in the living room, standing on it and thus spreading it everywhere. I am thinking that she is not ready for the toilet training, she is having more accidents than not, 4 weeks in now. First week was fine, when she had the sticker chart - as soon as it finished she stopped bothering!
House is getting on top of me a bit - it's too hard having housework to do when everything is a tip and needing painting, DIY etc. We need new wardrobes (only have one tiny one) hence clothes everywhere in bedroom. Kitchen worktop and units not fixed to the wall yet from alterations, things need decorating, fixing ... Well it's not the end of the world, I'm just feeling a bit tired today, and not on top form.
Not managing to come on here I think it is that's the problem - lost my support!!!
Just screamed at DS for being annoying - normally wouldn't bother me of course.
Off to drink some water, it's too hot for me today.
Will try to get on here more often!

swanriver · 23/06/2009 15:03

finished mowing lawn, if only that swmmng pool was in my back garden!!!

now trying to thk of bestway to keep dcs in good mood when they come out of school in v. hot frazzled state.

Park? Paddling pool? Emergency Tues icecreams? Cheese strings?

I think possibly a large mary poppins carpetbag containing all these things and a power shower for me.

Good luck everyone

dylsmum1998 · 23/06/2009 15:07

Maggie thank you for remindning me i had the water play set. i have just set it up on the kitchen floor for her to play with when we get home.

Swan i have never breathed properly when i swim, hence the slightly drowned look to my front crawl . i have never been able to hold my breath log enough to do the threee strokes then breath that ds's instructor is teaching him

wolf hope the trip to grouchy's helps cheer ds up and give you a bit of peace today.

have done an hour of paperwork now off to get dd
BBL

littleboyblue · 23/06/2009 15:55

Hiya everyone

Happy Birthday Galen

So hot!!!! Had my pram-o-cise class but thankfully both boys screamed non-stop so didn't actually manage to take part, don't think I could have in this heat

ave just changed beds in master room (ours and ds2's, me and dp don't have seperate. Yet....) and hoovered the flat, later I'm spending another 15 mins clearing out my closet, and I have also been putting together my own 'detailed cleaning list' for our home, so still moving in th right direction, although slowly.

I am sooooo tired

scattyspice · 23/06/2009 16:03

Hi again.

Everyone hot enough?

Dug buggy out for school run as dd said it was too hot to walk (and sure as hell too hot to carry her!). Hope those with toddlers are cpoing. I remember toddlers being V hard work in hot weather!

DS wants the comp so BBL.

littleboyblue · 23/06/2009 16:05

scatty ds1 is driving me insane! Ds2 isn't much better. I'm just having 15 mins of completely ignoring them!

dylsmum1998 · 23/06/2009 16:08

scatty its hot enough for me- i love it like this

though we had a disappointment when we got in from nursery in th ewords of dd "how sad mummy its broken" the water play centre i set up had deflated while i went to collect her. have promised her we will go out tomorrow to get a new one. however she is going to be disappointed as she is asking for a pink one (suprise!) but having trawled the internet i dont think they do one.

Starbear · 23/06/2009 16:24

Hi, Just popping in.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GALEN
Course, okay but I have back & neck ache, why, I don't know!
Ds has that pool but it is a harbour. Might blow it up now so the waters warm when we get back from nursery.
Swan May i suggest paddling pool & a lolly at home. relaxing for you I think.
Right what can I do in 1 hour.
make beds
put some washing on.
a little weeding
fill the pool
What's for tea?

swanriver · 23/06/2009 16:55

Too late Starbear!
We went to Park, and had waterices. It was blissful actually... a nice breeze and little blue check kiddies plying happily up trees etc.
Ds1 is now on piano fiddling around, and dts have gone to their across-the-road Tues club, so only have to get through following lst which shouldn't be too diff.

Homework for ds1 at 5.00
Computer for ds1 at 5.20
marinate supper
wash potatoes
prep veg
fill paddling pool for a quick pre-tea splash
bath & pjs
supper
handwriting for dts
dh returns
supper with dh after kids in bed

oh yes hoover playroom at 5.20 too.

galen · 23/06/2009 16:56

evening all

wendy it is so hard to keep on top things when stuff like DIY, decprating etc...needs doing too. Myhouse was total chaos when we swapped bedrooms round for DC and that only involved dismantling and rebuilding a few beds..not nearly as bad as moving house. You will get there. Do you think maybe taking a break from toilet training might be the way to go? With DD3 I gave up for a while and put her back in nappies and tried again a couple of months later - much better second time round. Sounds as if you dont really need the added stress just now.

swan hope you came up with a good after school cool down plan! Love the idea of a Marry Poppins bag _ I always wanted one of those!

everyone-else Hi!

Dh has come home early much to my surprise and has sent me to my room with my laptop promising to sort tea time chaos (nice Bday treat!)so he is now serving up casserole I had in oven and all DC seem to be running round screaming, but I am ignoring LOL!

need to do some washing tonight but not much else. Have all lunches done for tomorrow in attempt to avoid repeat performance of todays chaos...we'll see.

keep dreaming of a really chilled glass of white wine....may have to indulge later
see you all tomorrow ladies

swanriver · 23/06/2009 17:18

Hope things are alright LBB.

scattyspice · 23/06/2009 18:30

I think a glass of wine would be appropriate .

Done:
gym club
launry
sandwiches
washing up
buy food

To do:
DC to bed
put away laundry
holiday club booking form...

Good evening everyone. Happy Birthday Galen.
This is my first stint on the computer except for a swift look at the days mission earlier. DH been working from home so in the study all day. Have been uber busy and productive. Nasty shock though that my completed coursework is due in on the 2nd July, I thought I had a few more weeks and have booked centreparcs that week. Yikes. Must now type minutes of last nights meeting. Hate being busy this late, means I don't sleep well!
