swanriver Yes, it is heaven. I did lots (but only moving things out of rooms, redecorating and then moving back) recently with the help of ds (15) and dd (14). Teenagers have their uses! I'd promised to get rid of a table but am loathe to part with it just yet so intend to move it as it's making one room unuseable atm. I think I'll promise to send it packing by Christmas, though. Did I just say the C word?! Dd told me today that we've had the longest day. Noooooooooo!

SimplyIsATalentedBuzzard · 20/06/2009 22:52

Goodnight all you lightweights FLYers. I suppose having a good nap this afternoon is telling on me now. I wonder if I can find Hotel Babylon on iplayer?

dylsmum1998 · 20/06/2009 23:00

tmh glad you have a good evening, hope you enjoy the rest of your trip, not bad going only forgetting arm bands and washing up bowl.

i have taken ds for haircut/ swim/ to his dads.
dd and i came home and lay on the sofa watching bolt. then had dinner

i have also done minimal flying, done ironing and spent past 2 nearly 3 hours sorting out one of my folders from uni this year, only need to type 4 more pages of notes then that one i sdone. will do that tomorrow.

am off to bed now

BTW simply you reminded me tis only 6 months 5 days til christmas

SimplyIsATalentedBuzzard · 20/06/2009 23:05

dylsmum!

littleboyblue · 20/06/2009 23:23

gibb maybe you could write a book, kind of the opposite to Danny Wallace's Yes Man? We could see where life takes us if we all say no to everything!
audley Hello that is so sweet about the kiss in the bathroom. Heart-melting isn't it?
epi hope dd is ok
dyls Stop that c-word talk right now! Where has this year gone? Hasn't it just been xmas?

Had a lovely day today, was at the in-laws for a garden party. The only down point was when dp's dad said he couldn't remember my name!

Have a nice day at Kew gardens, I haven't been there for ages. Don't know what we'll do today........I've put dp's fathers dy pressie next to the bed, I'm not a breakfast n bed person, so he can do his own if he actually gets up!

Starbear · 21/06/2009 10:16

Swan FATHERS DAY! Thank you for the reminder. We have the stuff I just forgot to get Ds to give him his present!
A bit foggy in the Starbear household. Finished work very late on Friday to have everything done as I'm away from the office for a week. Then Ds woke in the night, then I didn't sleep well! All day Saturday in a haze!
This morning couldn't think what we had planned for the day mind a total blank! Had to look at my diary! Yes, Ds is going to my sister's this afternoon to sleep over, as I'm on a course tomorrow!!!!
Dyls Stawberry picking, how lovely enjoy!
TMH have you taken a laptop camping?
LBB relax you do so much during the week.
audley I'm not a big fan of Saturday either. I think its because it's really DH day off and I work around him. I also hate shopping on Saturdays it seems wrong!
I'll be back with my list after I've tidied the kitchen a bit

SimplyIsATalentedBuzzard · 21/06/2009 10:52

Morning all! lbb My father used to take a decade or two to start remembering our partners' or husbands' names. I often get into trouble for calling dd the dog's name especially if I'm rushing!

dylsmum So long as you don't mention it again until Oct, you're forgiven.

Starbear I hope you enjoy the course. I tend to only enjoy them if they're particularly relevant to my line of work. If not, I tend to think of the work I could be getting on with if only I wasn't on the course! [ungrateful for training emoticon required]

Right then.

Done:-
~ load of washing on
~ stripped two beds

To do:-
~ pay D for ticket and S for other things
~ start on tidying up paperwork mountain
~ remember car paperwork x 2

Dh is away so we're celebrating Father's Day next week. It'll be pretty low key, just some nice choccie and favourite tea or coffee. Bbl!

Starbear · 21/06/2009 10:57

Starbear · 21/06/2009 11:06

Simply The course is very relevant. It's making me tense. I like irrelevant courses give me a week off and I make new friends!
Half of my family are foreign I never remember the right names or how to pronounce them! My mum goes through everyone else name before she gets to the person she is actually speacking to
Must dash DH thinks MN is for people who have too much time on their hands! cheek!

Starbear I had a course a year ago which was an absolute ball. iirc, I was away for about 4 or 5 nights and we ate out in a group each night. I only (vaguely) knew one girl beforehand and we travelled together and got to know each other very well. I don't remember much of what we were taught. To be fair, it's not stuff I use in work. I have what's called an economy brain. If I'm not interested then it goes straight throughandouttheotherside over the top of my head.

TPF Sorry to hear of your wrenched neck. That is painful. I hope you are now continuing to pootle. Your priorities are good ones. A little story. I came home recently and started berating myself for the kitchen floor being so sticky. It seemed that whereever I walked, there was invisible orange juice or whatever on the floor. It was chewing gum on the bottom of my shoe! [dunce]

Off to do some more. I ought to have done this all on Fri but plans changed early afternoon and I'm having to catch up today. Have a good afternoon one and all.

grouchyoscar · 21/06/2009 13:25

Starbear · 21/06/2009 16:38

Prof I've apparently got hyper mobile joints apparently that's why I get so tired at 2-3pm I wear myself out moving twice as much as other people! Not sure if it the correct diagnoses, the chriopratic was trying to get more money out of me! As I'm far to chubby to move more than other people! Anyway my hip doesn't hurt as much now. I also have very flat feet which is a pain!
Simply Oh! I'm never sent away from home! I'm actual closer to home on this course! 20 mins by train!
Right, Ds at sis and their all going for a pub Sunday dinner yummy!
Going to hang washing & plant rose DH has fixed trellis & watching Athletics

evening all

littleboyblue · 21/06/2009 20:31

star hope course goes well tomorrow
simply I shouldn't grumble really about the name thing, when ds1 was born, I called him the dog's name and 19 weeks on I still sometimes call ds2 ds1's name!
prof No it won't hurt to leave the kitchen floor will it? I have routined to do all my floors every day, so if I skip a day it doesn't really matter.

Had a nice day, we went over to my dad's and my mum and brother came over too. I had a lovely 2 hour nap in the arm chair!!

Dp's just got in with take-away, so have to pop off. See you in the morning.

dylsmum1998 · 21/06/2009 20:47

evening all

then went to xmil for a barbecue
then have soent the evening so far on internet, have booked the ferry crossings and taken out travel insurance for us. getting very excited now, all i have left to organise is
spending money/ euros while we out there and i need to phone and see about getting my breakdown cover with europe added on for the week we are away

TheMadHouse · 21/06/2009 21:18

Evening all

I am sat in the tent after a lovley day with the boys playing with music and pink fizz - it doesnt get much better than that.

starbear we have taken laptop - wifi was avalable at 12 for the week, so we though if the boys wake at ungodly hour they can have CBeebies, but it was 8am today.

We have had a really nice day in Henley on the meadow by the river and in the park, then to friends for a BBQ. Shown DS1 where he was born, our old house and reading football club!!

Legoland tomorrow. Site is fantastic

SimplyIsATalentedBuzzard · 21/06/2009 22:08

Hello to all. Oh, I've just looked at the time. 10pm! Goodness!

Starbear and TPF. I have funny sensations from my hips from time to time as if they're falling out from the joint they live in, so to speak. It happens when I'm walking. Though, touch wood, they don't give me as much trouble as they used to. I can still suffer when the weather is cold and I'm feeling particularly tired.

TMH Oh,music and pink fizz. Lovely!

I've just remembered that I wanted dh's help to carry a piece of furniture into ds' room. Ds is probably still awake so I'll see if we can get it done now.

Nos da pawb. Good night all.
