DC absolutely awful yesterday - shouting and screaming all day.
DD decided to potty train herself. Would not put on a nappy and said she wears pants now... I managed to get her to the potty twice all day, otherwise in the pants every time ... and this is the girl who has between 3 - 6 poos per day ...
Manic day. Am shattered today, couldn't sleep.
So generally very miserable round here. Plus I ate lots of cake and biscuits yesterday so feel very frumpish today.
Ho hum think I'll be joining that asylum today.

Wendy, I ate a homemade scone yesterday every time I felt cross, so that makes about 20.. It is totally exasperating - sometimes they just do not get it. I think ds2 was ptd at 3 and dd at 2 and half. But they were still having accidents till at least 4 years

Now I am determined to have a nice day today.
Yesterday ended with a major tantrum from dd over wearing clothes to meals, jelly etc. Dh handled it brilliantly and put screaming child to bed calmly, I just did a runner with ds1 to buy cinema tickets for his party on Sun and didn't get back till 9.00pm.

So today's plan is:

Quickly clean pots and pans
get dressed and go to swimming pool before the rot sets in. Spend several hours there.
Return with calm and refreshed kids to an afternoon of quiet entertainment with books and games.

Morning

mission

babysteps

Going out to sis tonight. She is having an image/colour consultant over and has got a load of us to go round. We are supposed to take outfits we wear, some we don't wear because we aren't sure they suit us, and some we would like to wear but don't for some reason. I have virtually no clothes so goodness knows what i am going to take. And she HATES black. What little I have is mainly black

wendy that's brill about dd! She must be very determined.

mad I can't sew very well lol. Just do repairs mainly. Did used to make my own curtains and cushions and bedding, but haven't done that for years. Did find the sewing machine under the stairs when I was clearing it out though...

scatty Get thee over to the abstaining thread!

swan hope today is better for you. It is Friday so that's a good point already!

Not much to do today as house is pretty good.

To do:

Work with girls
General tidy
Hoover
Dust
Swish and swipe bathrooms
Ironing
Weekly shop

Off to have b/f

swanriver · 29/05/2009 09:20

The low point of my sewing career was when my rather shortsighted mother asked me to sew the rufflette tape on 2 sets of curtains. After breaking two sewing machine needles, handsewing with backbreaking effort then realised it was IRON-ON rufflette .
Ooh I would love to be coloured consulted, reimagined. It's the tone thing isn't it...not just the colour. But maybe if you just wore lots of differently coloured jewels with the black that would appease her?

swanriver · 29/05/2009 09:21

longsighted mother

epimum · 29/05/2009 09:29

morning all,
wendyred i sympathise with you, my dd did the same at her age!

TheMadHouse · 29/05/2009 09:57

Swan I feel your pain, I comfort eat too. I am currently wishing we had an outdoor pool nearby. We used to go to the one in Wallingford when we lived down south and miss it loads

Epi Welcome back

Gib Enjoy your night out, have fun with colour

We are off out for the day with friends to a park, so will be back later

littleboyblue · 29/05/2009 10:43

Morning all. Sorry for lack of personals again, dp let me lay in so not done much, just finished bathroom and now have to get ds1 dressed. Dp has taken ds2 for his jabs. Today I want to do a 5 min rescue in living room and that's about it . We're going to the park after lunch, far too nice to be running around with a duster isn't it?

Hi all (and welcome epi)

Have had a bit of a mooch today after yesterdays huge garden sort out

Need to do an ironing marathon today

But first I think I'll take the dc's out as they're going a bit wii stir crazy

Back after lunch

gibbberish · 29/05/2009 11:53

lol swan at iron on rufflette Now that's the kind of sewing I like!

Thanks mad Should be interesting! Enjoy the park, and lbl too. Is a beautiful day for it (here at least).

I have been very motivated and put adverts in the local paper for a load of the toys we cleared out. Have prepared the listings for ebay for the other things and my sis is going to put them on for me. Just to get dd1 to take photos. Cant put them on my ebay account as ours is a business one So that's a good job done.

Off to write my shopping list, get that done then sit in the sun with the girls and their books!

Simply · 29/05/2009 12:14

Hello to all.

My house is totally upside down! I had to empty two bedrooms (into the main one and the spare) in order for them to be painted. That's now done but it looks like the new flooring can't go down until next Weds at the very earliest and maybe not until the week after! I need to keep going on the decluttering and rehoming of stuff I think.

I'm also keeping an eye on S4C as ds is down at the Eisteddfod competing in about 5 different things. I stayed home to be here for the painters.

gibbberish I know two people who've had that type of colour assessment done. They found it very useful. Hopefully you will, to!

Done:-
coffee and biscuits for painters
rang re: flooring appointment
made a desperately needed hair appointment for tomorrow

To do:-
declutter more stuff
walk the dog
do lots of ironing (though there's nowhere to put it away to atm!)

Have a lovely afternoon everyone!

swanriver · 29/05/2009 14:20

We have been swimming, met some more friends accidentally there, and had lunch

Didn't quite manage my 16 lengths though what with dcs and socializing - will have to set myself 18 length goal for next visit.

Beautiful day!

wendyredkitchenredspots · 29/05/2009 14:49

Hiya everyone
Well DD is doing much better today, seems to have 'clicked' a little bit - she has voluntarily done three wees on the potty anyway as well as the accidents - so we'll persevere with it!
Still feeling shattered, have resorted to cleaning the bathroom to keep me awake. This school hols has thrown me right out, not sure what zone we are in or anything and sorry for lack of links this morning when I started the thread!

Hello again FLY friends

Sorry I wasn't about yesterday, I was at work all afternoon and I conked out at 8pm (Ed was reading Mick Inkpen's Honk! at the time) I'm fed up of feeling so ruddy exhausted by 1pm, it make me feel pointlessand a waste of space.

Hang on, a touch me centred there

Haven't been able to catch up on the thread so Happy celebration day to those who's/DC's days that I have missed. Welcome to any newbies and many Grouchy waves to all.

I have been FLYing but whenever I put out a hotspot the boys relight it as soon as my back is turned

gibbberish · 29/05/2009 16:23

Hi simply I hope the colour thing works - I'm rubbish at knowing what I should be wearing. Need to clear out the black and become a butterfly!

Sounds like you have had a lovely afternoon swan! wendy this is the best time of year for potty training. She can spend lots of time outside with no nappy on and the accidents don't matter so much! Sounds like she is well on the way though.

Aw grouchy kids and glasses of any type are just not compatible. dd4 wears glasses and loses them regularly...

Is SUCH a glorious day! Incredibly hot. Bought a pool for the girls this afternoon and they are having a whale of a time out in it. dd3 and 4 soaked dd1 with the hose whilst filling it. Very funny Cue much screaming and hilarity. I meantime am sitting in the garden, reading my book, with a glass of cola and with earplugs in

scattyspice · 29/05/2009 16:34

Hi all.

wendy dd sounds like she's doing well. My dd took 12mnths to potty train, it didn't click until she was nearly 4!

Swan - perfect day for swimming

Gib - the image consultant party sounds a bit scary .

epimum - day out in the park with your mates sounds prfect .

Grouchy - sorry you are so tierd, sounds like your body clock is all out of sinc .

Mad, LBB and others - hi

Had a totally crazy day! Mil came for lunch and DS friend and little bro (who is DDs age). Unfortunately Ds woke up with a temp and got steadily worse until he was sick at lunch time and went to bed . Dh took mil to visit fil in hosp. I spent the aft entertaining 3 dc and 'nursing' poorly ds. The poor friend kept saying 'when will ds be better'. Luckily they all played well with a bit of help (and lots of water)until they were picked up. Am shattered now!

To do
tidy up!!
wash up
reboot laundry
tea when dh gets back

First I'm going to attempt a cup of tea in the garden [smil].

Simply · 29/05/2009 17:07

If anyone is interested in choir competitions and can get S4C digital or normal S4C, ds will be on in a minute and then again about 20 mins later. He's in the mixed or boys (not sure!) choirs who wear black shirts and trousers.

Simply · 29/05/2009 17:09

Boys choir on now. Second from the right in the front row.

TheMadHouse · 29/05/2009 17:20

I have had one of those days when you wish you hadnt got out of bed

When to a large country park with friend and the boys, the boys were really badly behaved and then to top it all the wheel feel off my freinds pram - even worse was it was one I had sold her

We then tool them all to the local green adn beck and had a picnic and a kick around which was much more sucessful.

DS2 fell asleep in the car on the way home, so I told DS1 he could ride his bike up and down the front street as I sorted the garage. Well that is one of those jobs you wish you had never started.......................

DH cant even get his car on the drive, half the contents is on the lawn and half on the drive to go to the tip.

The boys are now pushing each other on an electric car which is out of charge that I had forgot we even had - a tiny poo bear one for 1 year olds

At least DH has just arrived in, so we can crack the garage together. I am just doing some food for the boys to eat outside like a picnic

littleboyblue · 29/05/2009 17:34

Hi all. Was a lovely afternoon in the park. There was a nice breeze too.
Not much in terms of FLYing here, I've had to spend the past hour getting back on top of the kitchen.
I did the 15minute declutter in one kitchen drawer and managed to bag up all balloons and batteries (not together) again and labelled so hopefully will be easier to find.
I've already had to make a few adjustments to my control journal, but that's ok.

Sounds like everyone's had a good day.
grouchy you've had a very productive day.
Mad sorry your day's not been too great.

Simply · 29/05/2009 17:36

TMH You get a prize from me for all you've done today! You put my efforts well and truly in the shade!

Well, I've seen both the competitions ds was in today now so I can go back upstairs to carry on with putting the bedrooms sort of back together again. I can't do the main part of the rooms as the new flooring is going down next week (hopefully) so I can only fill the fitted wardrobes. Still ... better than nothing. See you all later!

littleboyblue · 29/05/2009 17:39

Simply Meant to say, hope they can get the floor sorted sooner rather than later

galen · 29/05/2009 18:42
