Morning ladies

Feeling fab this morning. Have decided to give up alcohol for the next month as it was becoming too much of a habit Slept better than I have in months and feel just so much better already. Did start a thread to see if anyone would join me but no takers yet!

No housework today and everything is done, including ironing, and looking lovely! So dh and taking girls out for the day as weather is good thank goodness!

Will bll. Have a lovely, relaxing day everyone.

TMH ventriloquist extraordinaire!
thanks..
Strangely I haven't really drunk much at all in last six months, stopped needing my 7.00 glass of wine/beer completely.
But last week lots of fizzy pink wine seems to have made me very good tempered and amiable.
Completely agree that one wakes up feeling much better without it.

TheMadHouse · 16/05/2009 10:56

Ah but Swan fizzy pink wine is great

EHM · 16/05/2009 11:22

TheMadHouse · 16/05/2009 11:37

Morning Gib Thanks for the thread and enjoy yout day. I would join you on the alchol, but dont drink that much anyway

I have had a lie in which was sorely needed. I was up with both the bo0ys last night.

Plans for today:

Lunch
Buy roofbox and bars - silly using e-bay as they go for far too much
Gardening and seed planting

Will be back later too

TheMadHouse · 16/05/2009 11:41

I posted at 8.30, Galen, but post disappeared so then kept busy for a bit...
Kitchen is tidy
2 dcs have gone to music with dh
I'm following with ds2 who is still entranced by his train helterskelter set (brought back from the shed - it always falls apart within 24 hours being rather cheapskate but anyway...)
soup defrosting for lunch, and need to buy some white bread from market for sandwiches too.
Nothing planned for today really except I might try and stick to Sat pm swim for dcs (although haven't renewed their formal lessons this term)

Needs doing
Open kitchen shelf needs scrub and reorganization of cups and jugs etc
Bookshelves in kitchen need tidy
Prepare Sunday lunch/supper
hoover my bedroom
sort out kids' drawers
buy present for 3 yearold godson for Monday
Tidy garden which is looking Chewbaccaish.

I am still in bed...enjoying the advantages of mobile broadband at last!!!!

swan what a lovely post from yesterday. You seemed tohave just embraced all the day threw at you. And love the "cosy grey" idea...there I was in my miserable way feeling fed up it was so dull. How fab to consider it in a positive way!I'm going to try to think more like you today LOL

grouchy how do you do so much every day!

laura you really need some early nights lady LOL!!!

everyone-else Hi!

Well think we're finally cracking DS2's early waking. He didnt wake till 6 today...then actually went back off to sleep till DD's woke us all at 7.30...

House still quite a mess but am not going to let it get to me today...we NEED to have some nice family time this weekend
Am going shopping with DD1 in a bit...have promised her we'll stop for a drink and muffin too!
DH may take DC out this afternoon to give me a break...
Really would love to attend to veggie patch if it stops raining long enough...we'll see
Think we'll have a dvd and popcorn tonight too....

Hope you're having lovely lie -ins...and have great Saturdays one and all

Tortoise · 16/05/2009 16:37

Afternoon All.

Party went really well and they all loved their bears. The carpet was covered in fluff! Games went well and they scoffed all the food.
DD1 is very happy and has had a great day. Her birthday tomorrow and she can't wait for more pressies.
I did stupidly forget to do the bear cake when everyone was here so we did it with my friend who came to help out and her 2 DC.

grouchyoscar · 16/05/2009 17:01

hello again

tort the party sounds fab. Well done all round

Mad Everything is done really badly, that's how so much seems to get done Basically If I don't do stuff, nothing would get done so someone has to do it (and I wish the blokes in this house didn't believe that the washing/mopping/vaccing/ironing faries existed )

After my doze I have

Taken down dry washing
Put it away
Hung up the wet stuff
Tidied Ed's bedroom
Put all his clothes away
Sorted out an ironing pile (note, not done it)
Empty DW
Put away
Started Ed's tea

Not bad really

See you tomorrow

wendyredkitchenredspots · 16/05/2009 17:17

hello all
just realised the time and haven't made the dinner yet (or even thought of what to have!)Cauliflower is on the hob don't know what's with it yet!
Had a lovely day - yoga, followed by shopping in nearby upmarket shops in nearby village - lovely! spent far too much but some on dh's anniversary present and some on birthday presents in advance (some on general tat I didn't really need! like dried strawberries - anyone had those? So sweet)

wendyredkitchenredspots · 16/05/2009 17:28

wolf you are being very busy. My DS was ill like yours 2 weeks before getting the pox.
gibber I don't drink that much really so no point me joining you - good luck though! I'm more of a binge drinker really weeks with none then a couple of bottles of wine in one go!
pink fizzy wine - never tried that one!

Prof Glad your party went well too.

swanriver · 16/05/2009 17:56

Surviving another party is the right phrase for it TPF and Tortoise...can't quite face ds1's invites for HIS party which is meant to be going to Nights at Museum 2 soon after it opens, and I'm running out of time lulled into blissful forgetfulness by the fact his birthday was in April
Otherwise day has been extremely lazy.
Dh sent me off for a nap, then I took kids for a swim. He offered to cut hedge, but I couldn't face the sweeping so told him not to.
Now they are watching Return of Jedi! 3 day Star Wars event here
seem to be spend most of our time blushing here we need to be more shameless really.

Btw pink wine is Morrisons Frizzante Pinot Grigio Blush, like lemonade really

swanriver · 16/05/2009 17:58

No in fact Empire Strikes Back, think Iwill join them.

Tortoise · 16/05/2009 17:59

lol Swan. I actually really enjoyed the party. They all behaved well with lots of girlie giggling! And they really enjoyed decorating the teddy shape biscuits.

swanriver · 16/05/2009 18:09

Just added myself to your list Gibbberish,
at your lovely party Tortoise.

TheMadHouse · 16/05/2009 18:33

Swan Sounds mmmmmm might have to get some.

We have been shopping, are going back for the roofbox on tuesday as they were kind enough to inform us it would be cheeper

We are going to have a relaxing evening and I am going to dye my grey

laurasmiles · 16/05/2009 18:37

Hi all - congrats to the part-throwers....I'll need some tips in Janaury as my ds is 4 and we can't put off the big party thing any longer - he'd be mortified!

Had a nice day today catching up with friends and seeing all their little ones all growing and thriving. The children played SO well together - it was great.

Came back to find dp is in absolute agony still with muscle pain in his back and between his ribs. He said he can't face a trip to A&E but I don't think he's going to get far on paracetamol.

Children are sparko in the car - I can see them from here. Just giving them and extra ten minutes beofre waking them and getting dinner sorted. I might be tempted to do a take away Pizza from Ask tonight. It feels like it's been a long week.

Glad everyone seems to be doing well and making the most of the weekend. Still some pretty impressive lists around. I shall have to crack on next week - but not tonight!

dylsmum1998 · 16/05/2009 21:17

evening ALL

tort glad party went well

laura poor dp sounds painful

have had a busy day, dd to her dads then ds and i went to town to get some bits and peices and a new car radio. they couldn't fit the new one in the local shop as when my one got stolen the theif cut the wires and it was atricky job
took ds to his dads then off to the other store to get radio fitted. did lots of window shopping while waited for it to be done.
then decided as i was child free i would go to bluewater and find an outfit for my friends weddng, but couldn't find anything that liked/fitted/could afford
am thinking about accesorising with a dress i already have as am struggling to find something else to wear

then have came home sanded the wood work for the bathroom and painted it. will need another coat by the look of it as it is drying
