Thanks dylsmum.

Hope all the challenging children from yesterday are a little better behaved today!

Think I am going to spend some time with ds doing what he wants to do today. Have spent most of last week cleaning and neglecting him a bit. Feel like I can ease up for today - got inlaws staying at the weekend but plenty of time before then.

Also, my bathroom was only fitted a few weeks ago so won't take too much decluttering/cleaning. Am making my one extra room ds's closet though which is just full of crap and needs a good clear out.

morning chloe sounds like a plan to spend a day with ds, how old is he?

OP posts:
Chloe55 · 12/05/2009 08:17

He is 3.He was funny though on Friday - after madly trying to get the house looking lovely for friends who came to dinner on Sat he said, oooh mummy the house looks and smells beautiful - clearly someone appreciated it!

TheMadHouse · 12/05/2009 08:22

Morning all

Dyls Thanks for the thread, hope you manage to take it easy with the lack of sleep

Chloe use the 15 min rule and schedule in time for the children - it is what I do and plan for things as swan mentioned yesterday

Swan I have spare seeds left if you want any - just CAT me your address and I will send some on. I love herbs, they grow in just about any soil and are usefull too. we have a large pot with sage in, but it has got woody, hence the purple sage to repalce some of it. I am also trying white sprouting brochli, which you can cut all summer apparently. I am lucky in that the boys adore veg still - I know that may change in the futre so I am taking advantage

galen hope you had a nice night with DH. DS2 was like that with me when I came back from hospital, then became like velcro and is only just starting to show signs of being more relaxed.

Well busy day at TheMadHouse today

DS1 to Preschool
Toddlers for me and DS2
Home for lunch - not sure what yet
Sure start key worker visting
Off to friends for coffee and chat and boys to play
collect mum
dinner - left over spag bol or saus casarole

Then I am going for - wait for it - a BRA fitting at a lovley ladys house, who deals with this sort of stuff. Normally she would do it at the hospital, but she has made an exceptioon for me, so that DH can come too.

Once I have picked my new cup size, then I will ring my beast care nurse and she will order me some prostectics - Yeh I will have breasts for my holidays

In between all that I have more planting to do, some cleaning and playing too

wendyredkitchenredspots · 12/05/2009 08:24

Right girls, I am getting back on the Flylady wagon today at last after the move. I am going to start babysteps again to refresh, carry on unpacking ( still boxes in the spare room!) and do the zone - which is good and the bathroom needs a good clean!

Chloe I did that for a couple of days last week - on Thurs I took the whole day spending time with dc - all morning out with dd and a friend, and all afternoon out with both dc. It was the most lovely day I'd had in ages - we all loved it and the following day we seemed to bask in a glow of good moods! So I think you're right and I need to do it more often and not get caught up in the day to day stuff. Although, like Mad yesterday, often you plan nice stuff and some accident occurs because of rough play and one of them gets hurt to ruin it all!
swan second your point about MP's expenses. I think it is outrageous but there are plenty of wars in the world going on which seem far more worth of consternation than fraudulent MPs, and we all have plenty in our lives to worry about too

See you later on all better get dressed DC woke up at 6 am and after making them be quiet for another half hour by setting the alarm clock I fell back asleep - if I do that it's like waking the dead I go into a very deep sleep!

wendyredkitchenredspots · 12/05/2009 08:25

X posts, Mad Good luck at the bra fitting - very exciting and brave!

swanriver · 12/05/2009 09:25

Good luck with fitting TMH. I do have some borlotti bean seeds just haven't planted them yet that was why I was envious. Definitely TODAY.
I was looking at my Marcella Hazan Italian cookbooks last night (all so battered from my 20's)and just thinking about all those delicious simple dishes (which nevertheless have very rigorous instructions) involving veg, that's why the borlotti and sage caught my eye!
I tried to just enjoy the kids yesterday as well, and not worry about all the things needing to be done (will have to do TODAY). It was such a calm afternoon; I felt very unfrazzled at swimming, by trying to make only very few targets for afternoon. We did ds1 homework this morning too - about Pentecost, not having fitted it in yest, and he was so quick to do it, compared to the usual fractious mess in the afternoon. On the other hand it is depressing to see that he can not spell Sprit. At least he didn't put Sprite.

Now
Everyone's at school in a good mood
More playing house under a blanket
All dressed bright and early
Ds2 has his lunchbox
did reading with dd and homework with ds1

To Do
quick runaround with dishes and laundry
then off to town again for admin sorting.

TheMadHouse · 12/05/2009 09:39

galen yay for hubby letting you lay in

tmh hope all goes well with the bra fitting

have been out for my run this morning, i realised this morning that my race for life is in less than 3 weeks so thought i'd better try and do some excercise for it. its something i have been meaning to start for ages but its hard to find time when i don't have the children with me and not in uni

must get on with some housework/revision now

OP posts:
laurasmiles · 12/05/2009 11:52

Morning (just!)

I was doing okay with my list but have just had a massive and totally unecccesaty run-in with my daughter who is only 2 and had wee'd on the floor but wouldn't tell me where. I knew she knew where and I couldn't find it and she just smiles cheekily at me even though i was being serious and stern about needing to find it and quickly. She would not tell me and my threats escalated and i did everything wrong and ended up feeling like I wanted to throttle her.

The joke is I've worked with and on behalf of children all my career but I seem to find it hard to use professional techniques with my own children - they just push my buttons and I get lax and sometimes I'm horrid. I think I qualify for the world worst mummy award today. It sounds so stupid getting so cross with a 2 year old doesn't it????

Anyways, Galen my two were like that when their dad went waya to Ireland for five days - wouldn't go near him!

TMH I hope your bra fitting feel like a good step forward. Enjoy.

Dysl I've recently done my level 4 in early years - very interesting. ( at comments above).

TheMadHouse · 12/05/2009 11:58

Laura My two know exactly which buttons to push - how can you be objective and profesional with your own when love and emoption come in to things - you can stay detatched with others. Dont sweat it , easier said than done, I know.

Lunch is cooling - Jackets with beans, sausgage and cheese (as requested)
Been to toddler group
Washing brought in
No need to sort dinner, as nice friend is going to feed the boys
Collected DS1 from Preschool
changed him out of uniform
Discussed the need to not have his dummy and muslin during the day didnt work though as he still has it

EustaciaVye · 12/05/2009 12:17

Hi all, was about to post and say I hadnt done much so went and tidied my utility so I could say I have done something

Hope all well.

laurasmiles · 12/05/2009 12:36

Well done eustacia!
And thanks TMH - it's horrible when you feel like you've let your kids down. I think I've given up work to do this job thinking they'd be better off with me than in nursery full-time. Mornings like this, I wonder.....

Still, off to take ds to nursery and dd to dancing class - will make it up to her by being extra enthusiatic about our 'pointy toes' and 'gallops'!!

scattyspice · 12/05/2009 12:37

dylsmum1998 · 12/05/2009 12:57

Back from town, to see another great literary figure is here!
I like the way your characters are getting less and less domesticated and more misunderstood and heroic.

Sorted long overdue admin in town
Dh is very very pleased and invited me to lunch at his workplace but I had to go home and wash up sob. I will have to go another time. But I did buy a new kettle and a pink dishcloth. The clothes were too confusing. But still nice to windowshop as I whisked past!

Also did week's food shop apart from bread.

Bbwhen I done some housework.

swanriver · 12/05/2009 13:51

And congratulations Sagacious on starting driving. You can do it! I passed my test at 36. It hasn't quite changed my life, but is useful.

grouchyoscar · 12/05/2009 14:19

Thanks for the thread Dyls

Hello to ALL EHM The gratin topping was yummy, Just breadcrumbs, cheese and a couple of teaspoons of pesto sprinkled over the tuna and pasta. Bung in the oven until golden. It went down V well with my lads

Great News DH has been taken on with a permanent contract. He really impressed them and they met his pay. Thank Goodness for that!

Been mega busy this morning, getting up, getting Ed up, loading DW and WM, bags, morning nursery at the school then my lunchtime job. I have to go again in 30 mins (phew)

So BBL, hope all are well, cuddles to all

laurasmiles · 12/05/2009 14:57
