Morning all - thanks for the thread Dyls and Jas.

Dyls - what are you studying?

Jas - MORE DIY???? Fab stuff.

My main aim this week is to try and get to bed by 11.30pm and crack this insomnia. And establish an evening routine as morning is going pretty well. May consider missions at some point.

TO DO:
Make beds
5 minute rescue on bedrooms
children dressed and myself
Empty dishwasher
breakfast away
Fold clothers
Put wash on
Cat litter tray
Wash potty and stepstool
Bag up clothers for the loft
Clean books taken from the loft

Afternoon:
Post letter (buy stamps)
Make appointment for ds' injections
Clear out fridges
Paperwork hotspot
Dust in bedrooms
mop wooden floor
Shop for dinner
children to nursery this afternoon.

Must remember to USE TIMER! So it doesn't go on and on and on.....!
Hope you are all well. x

Can't wait to see pictures of your garden TMH.

Hello, everyone
put clothes out last night and organised food, as a result now find mornings strangely uneventful!
Dh is a baaaad mood, due to being woken too early and finding his shirts are generally too small. I asked him very meekly whether he wanted to go to work early because everything was sorted here, and he flew into a rage as if I was trying to throw him out of the house. I suppose they are as moody as we really...

Done
Taken dd to the dentist for her first filling. She was very nervous, and crying with injection, and then absolutely delighted with herself for being so brave. Which is lucky because we have to go back next week for another smaller one ; she seems to be looking forward to it!

Lunchbox for ds2
breakfast cleared
washing hung out
basin and loo s & s

TO DO
SHEETS
hoovering downstairs
another laundry pile
what's for supper pasta with pesto/ dh broccoli and anchovy sauce

afternoon work
school pickup
swimming after school
cubs for ds1 - someone else taking him
pickup two kids from cubs - me

swanriver · 11/05/2009 10:23

x-post FabBgirl, you can do it! Especially the address. I always find these tiny things take the longest and are most making.

Today I'm going to add a thankyou for party to my list as well.
And unloading dw

Morning all!
dyls jas thnaks for thread and links
mad great lists -hope your day is going well
swan poor dd at dentist .... brave little thing
Hope DH comes home in better mood!
You were totally spot on in your post about homewstart volunteer -that is just how I feel. Worried that having someone else around will just be another stress....should cope on my own etc....BUT know it will be a good thing to do!

So the homestart volunteer has been and she seems lovely.Still a bit nrvous about someone coming into our home regularly but know it will be a good thing. Am thinking of lots of ways it would be nice/helpful to have another adult around already...was only introductory meeting this am with volunteer and co-ordinator (who is also lovely) but went really well
Volunteer is coming again next Monday am...hopefully may play with DD4 a bit to get to know her.....

And DH IS COMING HOME TONIGHT!!! YAY

sadly dd1 is now poorly and at home on the sofa...but think it is what me, dd4 and dd2 have had which does seem to pass fairly quickly.....

really have lots I should be doing....but seem to be lacking motivation and energy....

need to go do some washing at least I think....
BBL

galen · 11/05/2009 11:02

Argggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

Mad Mad here - Bloody children

DS1 ran off from school with DS2 following him along a main road to the park. He ran to the top of the slide and went "na na na na na cant catch me"

Finally dragged them both to the car, sprapped him in, only for him to unstrap himself whikst I was strapping DS2 in and beep the horn loads.

Brough him in and he is in his room - he preceeded to kick me all the way up the stairs.

I am seething. Trying to calm down before I go up and retreive them both.

I wouldnt normally have an issue with the park, but they are going out this afternoon and I wanted to get lunch into them

swanriver · 11/05/2009 12:36

Well I have had a breakdown (emotional type)at the dentist! An appointment came up for hygenist (simple, painless, lovely white teeth what could be wrong with it?) this very morning, so I took the empty slot. Enjoyed a nice walk down again to dentist, sat down, after 10 mins of her hitting every sensitive nerve in my mouth I broke down in tears and had to leave the dentist sobbing. So odd! Don't know why I reacted so badly to it all. Must have lots simmering with my teeth I fear. Feel hideously embarassed that dd was so much braver than I.
Obviously on a shorter fuse than I imagined.
Feel a bit better now.
Deep breath anyway.

TMH. That would have driven me bonkers. It is so frustrating when one plans for the best and they just don't DO WHAT YOU WANT.
Anyway what about just outwitting them with a little picnic next time? The carseats/running off thing is the part of my repertoire. I think that is why you see all these parents who don't even strap their children in, they must have just thought SOD IT and given up.

swanriver · 11/05/2009 12:47

Do you know, apropos car seat battles, I've just had a brainwave.
Pretend to start the car without doing up carseat.
Invariably you will find children plaintively announcing "Mummy you haven't done my seatbelt"

Anyway hope you are feeling better now after some lunch.

Jas · 11/05/2009 12:54

swan - Do you have previous experience of the hygienist being lovely?? I can have fillings with no injection, but absolutely dread the hygienist, as I find it so painful.

scattyspice · 11/05/2009 12:58

Mad - poor you. I so don't miss that naughty age! Hope this afternoon is easier.

Swan - poor you aswell. There is definately something anxiety inducing about the dentist .

Today
ds to swimming lesson
laundry (hope the chocolate has come out of the new clothes )

Must dash, at work. BBL

swanriver · 11/05/2009 13:10

Jas, you are right, Dh has just rung me up to check on dd, and confirmed that that hygenist was a sadist, and given me a telephone hug, so I feel a bit better.

Off to work now, done various lightening chores

swanriver · 11/05/2009 13:12

hello to saga & grouchy wolf hope you are ok today chuckie egg?
tort you do impress with your diy skills.

I've tried to catch up on weekend thread. took ellie to birthday party she loved it. so we've booked 1 for her on 24th, we had decided against it because of house move/cost. Had ellie had dr's this morning as she had spots sunday evening on back which looked liked CPox. More today, she had Chick POx when she was 10 months old. Dr also thought where CP until I mentioned she had then at 10 months. So given cream & told ok to go to PS as not catching. PS didn't appear to impressed with these comments
