Morning ALL grouch good luck at apointment. Thanks for googling & starting thread. Hope you have a great weekend.
wolf hope you had a nice evening with your dp?

The sun is shining today I am going to do some more de cluttering today & packing. We're aiming to have car boot sale next sunday.

Have a god day all.

wendyredkitchenredspots · 18/04/2009 08:52

Grouchy We went to the new park this week too, it's great isn't it! there was even a police officer there making sure everyone behaved!!
EHM for you re: cats. We are in rented which has cats, we must have been lucky?
mad pleased for you about the 'cuddle' lol. My date night was with some paint and a roller lol

Busy busy day see you all later

wendyredkitchenredspots · 18/04/2009 09:06

Gib just looked at photos - your dds look stunning and the even looks fabulous!

wendyredkitchenredspots · 18/04/2009 09:09

I meant to say event of course.
So so tired. Don't think I've had more than 6 hours sleep per night for a fortnight. I was painting til 11 last night
anyway really am going now, was still on as was searching for accessories for red kitchen. MIL bought me three Emma Bridgewater Union Jack cake tins as housewarming gift - very kind of her. Now contemplating the storage tins for tea coffee sugar etc - banal question - do you think it matters they are not labelled with their contents?! Or should I go for another red set of containers?
Defo going now and may bbl as I am HAVING A NIGHT OFF THE PAINTING TONIGHT!!! Packing instead.

Wolfcub · 18/04/2009 09:27

morning all

dp let me have a lie in as i was feeling not so good last night, better this morning but still tired

ehm we did have a nice dinner and both fell asleep in front of the telly!

I need to go shopping for some new clothes for new job today, I don't want to go and dp doesn't want to come with (plus can't really afford it) so I am struggling to get motivated! I HATE shopping.

wendy takie it easy, I don't think containers need labels, I am fairly sure there is an emma bridgewater slight seconds shop either online or at one of our local outlet places where you could look for some nice jars, Ikea do some nice clear glass old sweetshop type jars too and the kitchen shop at redbrick mill has some lovely things.

Wolfcub · 18/04/2009 09:28

whoops morning grouchy

gibbberish · 18/04/2009 09:30

EHM!!!!! Found the bike you were looking for in the UK although it is a 12". Would it be again good? here!

Scroll down, it's at the bottom of the page.

gibbberish · 18/04/2009 09:34

Oops 'any good' I meant!

Morning all It's the weekend! Off to buy a new telly from Makro today as ours has had it. Will brave Ikea too...

ehm that's such a shame about the cats Hope you can find them a good home.

Thanks wendy They had such a fab time - so did I! Btw Homebase do nice red tea/coffee/sugar jars. They have clear lids so you can see what is in them and the only cost about a tenner for the three.

Morning grouchy Am impressed at you decluttering on a weekend

wolf Hope you find something nice. Know how you feel though - I loathe clothes shopping.

wendyredkitchenredspots · 18/04/2009 09:39

thank you for ideas! DH hasn't turned PC off yet so back again! Wolf haven't been to Redbrick may try it!

Wolfcub · 18/04/2009 09:40

trike but more expensive than the one gib found I think

85.99

89.95

71.00 but currently out of stock

77.32 10 and 12 inch available

Wolfcub · 18/04/2009 09:41

that was for EHM sorry I am suffering from dip-stickitus this morning

TheMadHouse · 18/04/2009 10:54

EHm 10 inch will be far too small for ellie. DS2 is getting DS1's 12 inch and he is smaller than the georgeous Ells. Take her to a bile shop to try one on!!!!

Gib The girls are stunning, are the younger two just as fab?

Wendy My kitchen is a def hotch potch - I can not do with all the same and most of my containers dont say what is in them.

Wolf I would have come shopping with you if I was better. What sort of clothes do you want?

DH is taking the boys to the pictures whilst I shop at Morrisons and then we are off out for a family day and picnic tomorrow

Wolfcub · 18/04/2009 11:01

mad I need 2 pairs of jeans (very lucky to work where I can wear jeans) 5 white and two black tshirts and about 7 shirts - I;ve decided that for now I can just about get away with that and then I can add trousers and tops when I have a bit more money and I lose tha half stone that i've mysteriously regsained in the last month. I also need a spring/summer coat.

All the things I have at the moment have been washed and worn so often that the fit has gone and they are getting baggy and misshapen which makes me look even more baggy and misshapen than I already am. Also need bras that fit and don't hurt me - will be a miracle if I can find any.

grouchyoscar · 18/04/2009 12:50

Hello again all Wendy Redbrick...? are you intending to take out a mortgage extention? The place is so overpriced.

OK I'm a bit touchy about the place, I feel it has high faluting ideas and it doesn't even include the word 'mill' or the town it is in on the info leaflets, so much for pride in local heritage huh?. It's full of stuff that the local people would never be able to buy and, well, that really ticks me off.

Rant over, and deep breath

Go for ideas but source the products elsewhere IYKWIM

Appointment went well and was quite positive in all honesty. DH is in such a specialist role that I doubt much can be done at their end but he's been doing the right stuff. I took us all for brunch before we came home. Well, it will probably be one of the last times I can do it for a while.

DH to football and Ed to MIL so today I will make a big dent in the post grad application stuff, well I cleaned the house up yesterday so I have free time

Have good days ladies

Hi all.

Gib - lovely photos, looks like a great night .

Grouchy - sorry about dh's job. Sounds like you are doing a good job at frugal living.

Prof - whats a DSI?

Wendy - house is sounding lovely. Red kitchen - very hip!

Mad - the stuff that your mum said to the hairdresser was lovely, .

EHM - cool bike .

Had a busy day yesterday. Dh took the day off and we went to Lakes for the day. Took the Ullswater steamer up the lake and walked back. Rather overestimated how quickly/far dc would walk and ended up carrying both of them for miles! It was a lovely day though .

Not much flying done .

EHM · 18/04/2009 17:23

wendy some places will allow pets, but not suitable for us as a family. As we plan to be there around 12 months needs to be in area near to possible school. When we moved here in 2001 our choices for rental where very limited then as we had cats, but it didn't matter we didn't have Ellie. The Emma Bridgewater stuff is lovely
gibb thank you 12 inch would be better. As TMH kindly pointed out 10 would be far too small.Enjoy Ikea & Makro.
wolf thanks but Ellie wants the bike, not trike. she is a fussy wee madam & it MUST have a bell Why don't you shop on line for clothes? How are you feeling about new job on Monday?
THM hope boys enjoy cinema & you have a nice few hours. Thanks for advice my Mum had said same thing today on phone about the 10 being too small
grouchy good luck with application.glad appointment ok & you had nice brunch.
prof what is a DSI? Is it similar to CSI on tv?
scattyUllswater Steamer, near Ullswater Valley or is that a really dim question

We have spent ours today empyting our loft. Taken several bags to charity shops. Phone local Emmaus to ask if they wanted small tv, video, scanner, & table. Said no don't have room.
We have stuff for car boot next sunday & some stuff for ebay.

have a good evening ladies.x

gibbberish · 18/04/2009 19:12

Hope you can get it for her ehm. Is a bit pricey but if it's what she has set her little heart on....

Thanks scatty and mad

mad dd3 really IS a stunner (and doesn't she know it ). Is very like dd2 (in looks, not temperament) - long, thick, wavy, dark hair, dark brown eyes and coffee skin. dd4 on the other hand is very blonde with green eyes and has a little cleft chin and a dimple. Very cute and completely eccentric. Everyone says dd4 must be the milkman's because she is so different to the other three

grouchy well done both you and dh! Things are looking up!

Well dh and I went out and did something completely mad. We needed to replace the TV and have come home with a 42" plasma HD screen Is really too big for our living room (and I feel a bit embarassed by it) but the kids LOVE it! Got it for a very good price which is what swayed us.

gibbberish · 18/04/2009 19:17

dh is justifying it by spending all afternoon watching football - not what I had in mind for it atall!

It is great tho... no doubt I'll get used to it in time. It's the first plasma we have had and the picture is just fabulous, as is the sound. It's just at the moment every time I walk into the living room I go 'Wooooaaaah' because it is rather overpowering and just a bit ostentatious...

Wolfcub · 18/04/2009 19:23

hello everyone

grouchy you hate redbrick so much you posted twice? Ouch! You have a point though but I do love the kitchen shop - actually I love all kitchen shops

ehm those sites may well have the bike too - sorry misunderstood what you were after. I looked online before I went in order to save time in the shops but I am a funny sort of shape and have learnt from bitter (and expensive) experience that I need to try on.

prof we can recommend the samsung 1080p ones which have come dowm in price a lot lately - very good picture as long as you have a good size room to put one in

I've bought 2 pairs of jeans, 8 tshirts, 4 bras - thanks to lovely lady in M & S and two shirts. Shirts were expensive so will buy myself a coat and make do some of the shirts that are already in wardrobe for now and the free shoes from MN.

ehm I am peeing my pants about monday, it will be the first time I have had line management responsibility and I have NO idea what I am doing aaaargh, plus the job itself is fairly big high profile responsibility kind of stuff, which actually worries me less than the line management thing!
