My dd2 has just emptied her breastfed bowels all over my much loved wool white company white rug [with bunting on - I love this rug]

It really isn't coming off, it's under vanish carpet cleaner.

Help me! My rug!

Not familiar with these sort of rugs but will it go in a washing machine? (Cold, gentle, quick wash??) Put through a couple of times?

treedelivery · 30/03/2009 11:45

It's too big. I dont dare look at it. Carpets a mess too.

Get as much off as you can.
Leave it in the sunlight.

SoupDreggon · 30/03/2009 11:48

It may take a while, but the sun will bleach the stain out.

SobranieCocktail · 30/03/2009 11:49

Agree re: sunlight - it's like magic!

treedelivery · 30/03/2009 11:50

sun light of course! And I use washables so ought to have thought of that!

Will put it on a sun bed if I have to!

OP posts:
SoupDreggon · 30/03/2009 11:53

You use washables and didn't think to bleach the rug in the sun???

[despair]

treedelivery · 30/03/2009 11:56

I know! very

But in fairness there has been an element of blind panic. My rug. My white company rug. sob.

treedelivery · 30/03/2009 11:56

Least I didn't bin a load of nappisan on it. We dry pail around here!

OP posts:
treedelivery · 30/03/2009 19:42

Ok - so the rug I can put in the sun.

What am I going to do about the carpet? Any ideas? Vanish carpet stuff has turned in khaki, so no improvement on orange then!

BUGGER!!! Carpet cream too!!

You could try some borax - scroll down

treedelivery · 30/03/2009 19:48

Thank you - will make a borax dash to shops. What has my life become when such a web page is in my favorites category?

OP posts:
crockydoodle · 30/03/2009 19:48

Use very hot water and ariel liquid bio. This worked on my dd's bedroom carpet, even on older stains.

crockydoodle · 30/03/2009 19:49

And the only carpet cleaner i've ever found to be any use is 1001.

treedelivery · 30/03/2009 19:52

All good, will buy all these things.

My rug my rug my rug. A friend has suggested taking i into work and putting it under phototherapy lights for jaundiced babies . On the understanding that the light breaks down bilirubin and there is plenty of that in this poo!! Dunno what the matron would make of it though.....

treedelivery · 30/03/2009 19:58

Dh out the door on a borax, 1001 and ariel bio liquid mission.

No hopes of borax in this town at this hour, but will try others.

..and this is good why...?

May I recommend M&S sparkling rose? It is lovely! Drank copious amounts on my hen do on top deck of open top bus, and pretty much floated for the reat of the evening. I remember trying to do ballet.......
