I don't do frills!

Is there an alternative to valances to cover up the bed base.

Tell me everything you know.

I'm rustybear of course (see pic on profile)

But I have a badge with the MN bat on, which I have been wearing round the local supermarkets in the hope that someone will sidle up to me and mutter "Wanna buy some nice ham?"

Hasn't happened yet though...

ShadowOfBlueTiger · 22/03/2009 19:47

snort. I clicked. and questioned.....

nickytwotimes · 22/03/2009 19:47

Pmsl at this thread.
I'm a straight valancer myself. My Mother has frills but that's generational I suppose? I wish she wouldn't criticise my clean lines so much.

dragonbutter · 22/03/2009 19:47

there's a thread about boilers!
how fucking dare they.
I'm doing boring tonight.
twunts.

RustyBear · 22/03/2009 19:51

Boring threads just aren't what they used to be...

BonsoirAnna · 22/03/2009 19:54

I have a beautiful charcoal grey linen box valence - with a matching charcoal grey linen covered bed head.

CompareTheMeerkat · 22/03/2009 19:55

I quite like the idea of a straight valance

dragonbutter · 22/03/2009 20:05

wow, rusty that was really dull.

you're right. mumsnet's just not the same anymore

OP posts:
BathTub · 22/03/2009 20:06

Just get a plain one from John Lewis with no frills or have one made that is like a box

StealthPolarBear · 22/03/2009 20:14

I wanna meet you all

ShadowOfBlueTiger · 22/03/2009 20:31

Oooohh I have found the Valance for you

dragonbutter · 22/03/2009 20:31

oh you will stealth.

OP posts:
ShadowOfBlueTiger · 22/03/2009 20:31

suppose I should change out of my blue cloak.

dragonbutter · 22/03/2009 20:34

what's with the cloak?

you don't need to hide.

OP posts:
QuintessentialShadow · 22/03/2009 20:36

No, I just changed into an old name of mine to post on a thread about colour a few days back. You know, blue is the colour of the smurf.

dragonbutter · 22/03/2009 20:38

er ok.

so, how's tricks?

i love that this thread is on most active.
like a sanctuary from all the stoopidness.

OP posts:
TheMadHouse · 22/03/2009 20:39

We have a superking divan and have a box valance - no frills

QuintessentialShadow · 22/03/2009 20:42

tricks are fine. I have tonsillitis. Snowboarder rammed into ds1 last week, hurt his leg. hows you?

dragonbutter · 22/03/2009 20:45

things not great. very stressed.

also have a small boy with me, very whiney and not asleep. hoping for a miracle before lost starts at 9pm.

OP posts:
QuintessentialShadow · 22/03/2009 20:50

off to check your thread, db. what is up with your boy? is he not well? Hope he settles and you can watch Lost.

dragonbutter · 22/03/2009 20:50

i have no idea what's up with him.
going off to watch lost now.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 22/03/2009 21:13

Thanks but I can't! Hope you have a good time.
Night everyone, off to watch Cloverfield...am I making a mistake?!

dragonbutter · 22/03/2009 22:57

i liked cloverfield at the pics.
but i don't get out much.

frumpygrumpy · 22/03/2009 23:01

Valances make me feel ill. We have just bought a divan (for the first time, I'm normally a bedstead girl) and have had it covered in fabric rather than valance.

dragonbutter · 22/03/2009 23:02

upholstered?
