morning all

I had another lie in - I need them though, as sleeping is hard. Finding a position is a nightmare and then the pain keeps waking me.

We are popping out for supplies and then back for a lazy day.

The sun is shining and it seems to make all things more manageable

Wolfcub · 21/03/2009 10:36

Morning all what a beautiful day just the right kind of weather to lift the spirits. We all got a bit of a lie in whilst ds was very quietly destroying his room!

Done

Washing folded
Wet washing hung up
Wm loaded
De unloaded and reloaded
Washing up done
Quick living room kitchen and bathroom tidy some bits of bathroom swished
Kitchen surfaces cleaned
Hob and small appliances cleaned
Front of wm and de cleaned
Bed made
Plants watered

Bbl hope all enjoy this lovely day

swanriver · 21/03/2009 10:44

I'm glad you had a lie-in TMH, so sorry that you are still feeling sore. Is it the infection or just general healing?

Sun is shining here - morning started well but the lunatics are starting to take over asylum. dd has refused to go to ballet, and to do vp.
Dh has taken two to music and put a lawnmower together. Ds2 is being 7 year old annoying stamping around complaining how horrible everyone is to him, moany cross and snotty.

TO DO
throw out some discarded paper from study(went through some files last night)
Put some winter clothes in loft
prepare lunch - baked potatoes
wrap present for dd's friends's birthday
plant strawberries with ds2 to improve his mood
dd to party round corner (excellent)
buy shoes for ds1
take ds1 swimming lesson
what's for supper - chinese takeaway or roast not sure what mood will be
press on with thankyous
press on with ironing
tackle map homework
PICK UP DRY CLEANING and take another duvet

Hope your ds is alright Wendy
and that everyone looks after you Galen!

swanriver · 21/03/2009 10:47

Oh yes, Wolfcub you have reminded me I have watered lots of plants in garden this morning, apart from which so far NOTHING except childhandling and several cups of tea.

grouchyoscar · 21/03/2009 18:45

....Grouchy drags herself in.... Hello

Just got laptop time. I have

DONE

Up and downstairs to peg out washing only to see the chaos in the kitchen
Empty WM and sort for drying
Peg out quietly in the garden - see new garden resident, a long tailed tit bouncing round the sycamore. Feel better about tackling the kitchen hell
Start the tidying up with Load DW and run
Put out the kitchen bins and bring the milk in
Clean the pizza sheet
Clean the hob
Put ingredients in cupboard and milk in the fridge
Clean the worksurfaces
Empty DW
Put away
Make pot of coffee
Have brekky
Take an excitable Ed to town to buy a power miner with his pocket money that he's saved up
Do some charity shop trawling - get a wool BHS double breasted overcoat for £4! OK I look like one of The Last Shadow Puppets in it but hell it looks great
To the shop with Ed, he is so chuffed to take his box to the checkout and get the cash out of his purse Also got him a cool t-shirt and some sneakers
Home DH being a PITA. I have a sulking fit and sneak away
Feel guilty. Go and sweep downstairs
Mop downstairs
Mop bathroom
Clean round taps with old toothbrush
Clean toilet
Dust bedroom
Do ironing

Get fed up and log on

Congrats to Wolf Well done you!

I'll be in a better frame of mind next week (I hope) Have great mummys days all of you

galen · 21/03/2009 18:50

scatty/swan yes I think the veg growing thing is contagious!
prof enjoy houseful of girlies - like that all the time here LOL
wolf hope you've enjoyed the sun!

Well we have had a lovely day. Been out to a lovely park, with lots of spring flowers and wooded bit full od daffodills! Treated DC to an ice cream and me and DH had cup of tea and slice of cake from cafe - very pleasant!
Then lovely DH supervised tea time choas to give me a break ( dinner already in slow cooker - yay for slow cookers!)
Basic flying done, house not too bad.
Now going to watch DVD with older DC, then reading then bed!

Hope everyone gets a lie in tomorow!

hello all thanks for messages about DS. He has 32 spots, counted tonight, but he is making a meal out of it as usual! Probably more to come, today is day 2.
The worst is that I haven't had chicken pox I was tested for immunity when pregnant with ds and was found to have no immunity so I know for definite I've not had it. I am just waiting ... it's going to be just my luck to get it, be ill and covered it spots and miss either the hen party (next Saturday) or the wedding (Easter Saturday). Let's see!

I have been shopping today! Went to a local outlet place and also Tesco, which has 20% off clothes, and got lots of last season's Next and Monsoon stuff - lots! In all got:
a pair of slouch jeans - tesco
a pair of cropped jeans - Next
a dress for the hen day - monsoon (the other one I bought I'm going to wear for the wedding)
a long skirt - monsoon
a short skirt - m and s
a pair of linen trousers - tesco
a black cardigan - tesco
and a new swimsuit - tesco!!!

Cost me £65 altogether so I'm well pleased

Also been to the local nursery, bought plants and planted them and gifts for MIL and my mum.
see you tomorrow, I'm whacked and the house is a tip.

Now even more broke but it's all on the credit card!

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 21/03/2009 21:18

Just pottering around this morning in the sunshine.
DS has more spots today. The children are watching TV with Ds's chicken pox the excuse!
Have a lovely day everyone

scattyspice · 22/03/2009 09:01

Gets better soon and you stay pox free

gibbberish · 22/03/2009 12:43

Hello all

All the gibberish household have chicken pox dd4 is the worst though poor little thing.

Have been super busy today though (despite the itching )

Have done so far:

Tidied whole house
Made beds
Tidied little ones room (was a bomb site)
Hoovered downstairs
Dusted downstairs
Cleaned kitchen
Cleaned mirrors
Tidied and cleaned utility room
Done two loads of washing - third on
Sorted out the ironing
Put away clothes

Still to do:

Hoover and dust upstairs
Clean bathrooms
Finish off garden if it stays dry (did half yesterday) ooo sun has just come out

And ofcourse continually lager everyone with calamine lotion...

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

swanriver · 22/03/2009 14:23

We've been out and about to church, Brownies parade, bus and pizza. Unfortunately dcs seem a bit zonked by last week, but good humoured so far.
We had a rather upmarket ordered breakfast all beautifully laid (by me) with
cards and flowers, and a lovely sermon about mothers in church, and it has all reminded me to be nice to my children!!! or else..and nice to my mother of course, who like yours TMH does her best to love and look after us.

TheMadHouse · 22/03/2009 14:29

Afternoon all and a happy mothers day.

I got a lovley Lola rose type butterfly necklace on leather and some chocolate cuttons

We have had a reallt chilled out day delivered mums gift and MIL's too.

Also visited the hopsital as I have some weaping from the wounds, so they took a swab. Need to ring up on monday PM for the results, as I finnished anti'b today too.

It is a lot colder and no sun here today, but I am just happy.

Chickenpox Survival Guilde

Calomile cream (not lotion as it dries out)
PoxiCiln - foam from boots - expensive but really good.
Piriton syrup
bicarbinate of soda for the bath. Helps reduce acid in the spots or something and reduces itching.
Oats in a muslin for the bath - very soothing
Metanium cream for nappy area.
children's magazines a godsend. Free gift, puzzles and new stories were good distraction.
maybe a new DVD as an alternative distraction.
oversized t-shirts as they wont rub the spots and will cover most bits.
nail scissors - cut nails now so any scratching has less effect.

My twwo spent hours in and out of the bath with their tset playing.

Wendy I didnt get them till I was 26 - hope they manage to pass you by

swanriver · 22/03/2009 14:30

Gibberish - have you four children?

Wendy, your dcs should watch telly all day if necessary, we are only being so po-faced because ours were fighting over it constantly.

swanriver yes I have four girls

Okay, have hoovered and dusted upstairs and cleaned upstairs bathroom. Also washed floors downstairs.

Going to do a bit in the garden before the rain comes on...

wendyrednoseredhair · 22/03/2009 15:30

thanks Mad
have some Eurax cream for DS's spots - not for under 3s though so will have to rethink for DD when she inevitably gets it. have the piriton syrup and calamine. Both sets of grandparents here to amuse them!
I am very full. We have all had very yummy lunch cooked by DH mostly (MIL did the puds. lemon meringue pie - yum - bakewell tart - double yum - meringues cream and strawberries - divine - all homemade)
Have been doing some - ahem - rationalising. I am not allowed to pack anything until The Day We Get the Keys lol so I am rationalising things into boxes or so I am telling DH.
see you all later
