You too wendy? Have had dd4 in and out the bath and shower all day today poor thing. She is so itchy.

galen · 22/03/2009 15:50

Afternoon all
wend and gibberish - sorry the pox has struck, hope it soon passses
swan breakfast sound slovely
mad necklace FAB!
scatty grouchy wolf prof Hi - happy Mummys day

So had a nice lie in this am , breakfast in bed and LOTS of homemade cards.
Slight chaos when I got up, and mad dash to church but hey!
Had a fairly chilled afternoon though weather also gone really cold and dull here so no gardening done

Having roast shortly - DH and older Dc are in charge so fingers crossed LOL

Seem to have accidentally invited 7 people for dinner on Easter Sunday though
Sort of mentioned it jokingly to my sister - who thought it a brilliant idea (expecting her to say no LOL) so now having my Sister, BIL and their DD (3), my Mum and Dad, and BIL's Mum and Dad. Could be interesting since we already have 8 people in the house ... so now will be cooking for 15 oh bum!Still I think it will be fun, and a good thing really!Need to drw up a 3 week action plan to get house in tip top shape!

Right DS awake. Must dash

Hi all. Sounds like you are all having nice days .

Love that necklace Mad .

Sympathies for CP Gibber .

We have been playing in the garden and had expedition to the park. Everyone looks a bit pink (surely not suntans ) Mind you we are a very pale family .

Done:
ironing
ds homework

To do
wash up
bath kids
make sandwiches
pack bags
label DS school trousers.

swanriver · 22/03/2009 17:31

Ruby/prof, thinking of you and so many of my friends who are missing their mothers.

They've played on computer this afternoon - and now we're all in a bad mood again. I can feel that terrible tension building up. Children scrapping, grownups bickering over whose fault such and such's behaviour is.
Just eaten some rice krispies to try and make myself feel calmer.

Dcs have had lots of exercise today, long walk etc, so it must be their badtempered parents' fault.

Going back into garden to escape.
Scrambled eggs for tea.

swanriver · 22/03/2009 17:33

We have suntans here!

TheMadHouse · 22/03/2009 17:35

I am also thinking of you too Ruby I find fathers day espeically hard.

We have just had a super roast chicken with all the trimmers, including Profiteroles. I guess it was too far for you to travel Rubes

Baths for the boys next and then snow buddies and bed

TheMadHouse · 22/03/2009 17:37

Scatty we are all pale too, athough DS1 goldens up like his daddy. DS2 stays pale and interesting like me.

Swan The excersice seems like a good idea - I am looking forward to having a bit more energy, but... I have learned to be more relaxed

gibbberish · 22/03/2009 17:56

Thanks galen

Have done all the house - is looking lovely. Also finished the back garden so can sit in it with pride again Can start putting in all the new plants next week if it is warm enough (temp meant to be dropping again).

Got TONNES of ironing to do so going to tackle it tonight whilst watching tv. Lost and Fringe is on - excellent

gibbberish · 22/03/2009 17:57

tmh how are you feeling now?

TheMadHouse · 22/03/2009 18:10

Physically I am OK thanks Gibb, stiches are pulling lots and my muscle needs to build up again, but I do need to remind myself that I have had two major operations in under 2 weeks and that the last one was only a week ago.

Mentally well I am up and down as is to be expected. I am only just getting used to the fact that the reconstruction failed and that I will have to be breast free for a while and also that any reconstruction is going to be a challenge now. Also it is disapointing that my scars are now so brutal and not nice and symetrical as they were after the inital reconstruction (they had to remove more tissue and dead skin from the left

But I am one of the lucky ones and am trying to be thankful for everything I have.

EustaciaVye · 22/03/2009 18:38

Hi All.

Sympathy to anyone with chicken pox. I remember that survival guide Mad ;)

Had nice day here. Think DDs recent rashes may be slapped cheek but it only just crossed my mind. DD1 came up with it yesterday. Hoping it fades overnight so she can still go to school as she is absolutely fine.

TheMadHouse · 22/03/2009 18:55

EV It was such a good guide you did I saved in to my control journal spreadsheet nerd emotion

gibbberish · 22/03/2009 20:08

tmh amazing you can be so positive considering all you have been through. Really admire you. x

EV hope the dds are ok!

dd4 is standing scratching herself to death Was such a shame - earlier I was gently rubbing her back for her because she was so itchy and she was giving these mewing, contented noises... felt so sorry for her. The wii has taken her mind off the scratching for a little while this evening though.

Decided couldn't be a*d doing ironing. Am stuck in here for a week with all the pox going around, so have plenty of time to do it. Will chill with my vodka and watch all the good stuff on telly tonight instead

TheMadHouse · 22/03/2009 20:37

Gibberish Shows all them weeks of CBT worked for me

Boys are bathed and in bed
scones are in the oven
Washer is on
Clothes are ready for tomorrow

Tomorrow is my first day on my own. DH's work have been amazing - he has had three weeks off in exchange for 2 weeks holiday, but he has to return this week.

So plan is to take painkillers as soon as I open my eyes

DS2 is at the creche from 9.15 to 11am and DS1 at preschool 8.30 to 11.10, so I will relax and prep lunch and dinner during that time and then mum is coming to iron and mop the floor

dylsmum1998 · 22/03/2009 20:44

evening all.
sypmathies to all those whose littleones have the dreaded pox!!. hope they get over it quickly.
have had a hectic weekend.
went shopping with my mum yesterday and dc. got home realised i had forgotten the chicken for todays dinner. so me and dc got ready to go to coop for one. i got to the top of the the flats stairs and discovered i still had my slipppers on , went back to let myself in and discovered keys were not in my hand bag
phoned mil and waited haf hour for fil to bring spare keys over. and in meantime allowed ds to walk to coop alone and buy the chicken.
got in made curry and cooked pasta not rice to accompany it . so had to start that again. after that decided prob best just to go to bed.

then today got up cooked a roast for lunch time then popped to shop for bits i need for tomorrow and forgot yesterday. dropped ds off to party. then took dd to feed the ducks, we were both amazed to find turtles in the pond. have been going there years and never knew they were there.

then came home and did mass pile of iroing. dont know where the washing comes from i did a massive pile friday night as well.

am now going to go through my work due in tomorrow and hope i haven't forgotten anything

wendyrednoseredhair · 22/03/2009 20:45

Hi all
Is day 3 and 4 of the pox the worst? DS seems suddenly much worse - we're on day 3 today, suddenly poorly, hot etc whereas he's been fine before.
Not really looking forward to my week stuck indoors and then DD will catch it (and maybe me ). Oh well, I'm counting my blessings though - it's only chicken pox!
DD is unwell too, hot and runny nose so far, not sure what it is. Can see lots of TV tomorrow. But I agree with you Swan I think it does cause tension. My theory is that when you watch TV you just get used to doing nothing except being passive, and when you have to stop and be active it makes you grumpy, for want of a better word.
Eaten lots of puddings and pie today so back on the fruit and no naughty stuff tomorrow I've lost 2 lb this week but no doubt put it all back on again today!
See you all tomorrow

wendyrednoseredhair · 22/03/2009 20:47

x posts - wow what a weekend dyls! Mad good luck tomorrow - we'll be here

swanriver · 22/03/2009 21:55

Wendy, I think mine (at 2 years)with cp were MISERABLE for two days,(days 3 & 4?) awake in night, feverish etc and then fine just a bit spotty.

Dh and I have had a delicious supper. Now just to sort the clothes upstairs, and put sandwiches in fridge for ds's school trip.

He said he thought we HAD had a lovely day but he never seemed to get a moment off or even a lie-in (children always find him and wake him), and we agreed that what he wanted on Sunday was less church (not his cup of tea) and more roaming round London (with one child but not three). So we will try more reconnaissance activity.

swanriver · 22/03/2009 21:57

Dyls that sounds like my sort of average day, except no-one would have spare keys!

gibbberish · 22/03/2009 22:02

Day 3 tomorrow. dd4 seems to be sleeping ok though so far.

swanriver love your name.
